My father has had aaalll kind of cancerous spots on his skin removed. Our family has a history, too. He's gone through so many procedures and they're very simple! If it helps <3

@Bison, I'm not sure if this helps at all, but as someone who works in the healthcare field I am always surprised at how much we can do to treat cancer! It os often talked about as a death sentence, but medicine has advanced so much that I don't think we should speak about it that way anymore.

Cancer needs to be taken very seriously and treated promptly. Without mention of it, some people might ignore it until it's too late. Better to save a life preemptively, rather than worrying about the person being mad when it isn't.

And as one explained to me, if they do not mention ALL it could be, some people do not take it seriously. Then doctors get sued for "not mentioning" the worst and the person promptly deciding it could be dealt with later

We appreciated it with my father since it prepared us for the worst. Same with my mother. They both had cancer at the same time. We were able to notify insurance ahead of time, too

They blame the doctor by saying things like, "you never mentioned it could be cancer!"

@Granny, the problem with that is then people get upset when it is cancer.

I agree, Granny. I had a doctor tell me could be cancer (it wasn’t). I’ve always hated how some throw the word around for no reason.

"You scheming bitch," he spat.

"Incorrect. I don't just scheme, I connive. I'm a scheming, conniving bitch," Maeve smirked.

- the morally gray character in the first little piece I've managed to write in two damn years.

“I think I was stabbed.”

“You think?”

“Don’t fuss. There’s a fireorb in my saddlebags. Get it out.”

Aha! Here we go:

- Pick a God and pray to it / There are no Gods here

- Kill me and live with my memory. Then tell the stars you won (Not mine)

-- The girl looks at her hands, trying to remember the lesson her friend had taught her as a child, "Princesses shouldn't be seen with the God of Death."

The friend nods, "And where did I find you?"

The girl continues to look down, her voice quiet with shame, "With the god of death."

-- I just find it so interesting that I can create a world where being friend with a god, and especially of death, is common-place lol

- No crime committed worthy of death (I don't know, just sounds cool)

Some I wrote in class because why not:
---> "Death. A cold beauty, its owner forever frozen in a timeless sleep, offering once more the elusive youth that disappears with the passage of time..."
---> "Forlorn cries of misery ring, the shadows scream, shedding tears of loss, the clear drops hitting the harsh stone floor with a reverberating ting. Rhe quiet, miniscule noise seeming to drown the looming form of a persitant depression, its taloned hands flailing in the ever-filling pool of crystalline sorrow it has so nonchalantly caused..."
---> "Revenge is a bitch, and she is furious..."

Never once have I diverged from peace
And sat down to write
With the intention of laboring a poem out of nothing

It comes from the flood of thoughts between two dimensions
When I wake in a sweat from a nightmare
Or a memory triggered
By the taste of cheese and crackers and
Suddenly I’m in my father’s car,
Trees blurring by in the almost sunset
Windows down, trying to devour a book
In the chaos of a long drive in a small space
With too many brothers

I welcome intrusive thoughts, the battle
To form an equation of words
Pulling from half-lucid nonsense to shape the days that were
The feelings that are
The unending echo that will always resound
Bursting with meaning only to me

Jett snickered. "I can just imagine Cole trundling down the road. At eighty miles an hour."
"I resent that," Cole said. "I'm an expert trundler. I trundle all the time. I can trundle all day long if I want to."

That's an older bit of dialogue that I just found, but it made me smile

I found these little passages I wrote in an English class XD
I kind like them!
We had to descibe a setting a different genres....
-
Forest -
Happy -
The trees swayed gently as the warm summers breeze blew through. The leaves casting large shadows devouring the forest floor. The birds chirped happily, singing their harmonious melody.
-
Horror -
The trees seemed to be extending their bare limbs to me. Trying to smother all living from their dark world. The shadows danced together, playing evil tricks on my mind, the birds screeching their final warning.
-
Romance -
The blossoms shone sweetly, showering all in their sickly sent. The warm light flooded the forest floor, bathing them in a golden glow. The birds chirped happily, singing their harmonious melody.
-
Stormy water -
Horror -
The thunder crackled harshly in the distance. The waves crashing together, throwing themselves at each other. The lightning pierced through the clouds illuminating the trashing water. The beast itself emerged from the foamy white capped waves, its face highlighted by the moonlight flooding though the grey clouds.
-
Adventure -
The waves rolled and tossed. The thunder cracked and roared in the distance. It was going to be one hell of a storm. The waves trashed the little boat obscuring it form the view of ragged on-lookers.
-
Senses -
Haunted house -
As she walked onto the rotting porch, the blacked floor boards creaked louder with every step she took. The scent of rotting pine wood lingering in her nose. She felt the cold wind blow through the house her tears now falling rapidly leaving a salty after taste in her mouth. She peered into the curtained windows, something was moving inside. The wind whined as it slipped though the gaps of the rustic house, catching her off guard.

Some lines are a bit repetitive but I don't mid them :D
