Sage wrinkled in nose, letting out a huff of air. "So is normal food," he grumbled, scowling at the spoonful of goop that Mari was trying to get into his mouth. "A baby eats better than that," he snorted, brows furrowing deeper into a scowl. He knew Mari could be stubborn, but he also knew he could also be quite stubborn. And while he was probably going to have to her at some point simply because she was his wife and he couldn't resist her for whatever reason. But he was determined not to do that without a bit of a fight anyway.

Mari raised a brow at him, and sort of shifted where she was sat to give a playful looking glare. "A baby eats boob. You need to eat food like a big boy," she chuckled, sort of mixing the goop before drawing in a deep breath. She sort of held her breath in for a moment, before taking a little spoonful and popping it in her mouth, eating quietly and trying her hardest not to make a face as she swallowed. "See! Not that bad," she chirped.

Sage couldn't help the playful twitch of his lips at Maris comment. "I think big boys eat boob just fine. Alongside other things," he added mischeviously, poking her hip. Really, she'd opened the conversation up for that, so she's probably seen it coming, but it still amused him. He couldn't help but cackle when she took a bite though, shaking his head. "Mari,for one, that was barely a bite, and two, you look like you're the one who just got shot," he snickered. "Not that bad my ass," he huffed, sort of sliding down into the blankets a little bit.

Mari's eyes narrowed at him after a moment, and she sort of snorted a breath of amusement along side playfully smacking his hand away when he poked her. "Just fine? I guess you're not a big boy then, huh?" she teased him after a moment. She sighed and sort of put the bowl down on the side table, figuring this wasn't exactly worth the hassle. "Just try one bite, if you're still not happy i'll go make something else for you," she huffed, handing him the spoon. She at least wanted him to try it. It was good for him, and really he could use it.

Sage just rolled his eyes at her retort, a soft snicker rising in his throat when she slapped his hand away. Though, when she grabbed the spoon he sort of groaned but took it, wrinkling his nose as he reached for the bowl and the smell hit him. He knew she was right....he did need it, and he was really hungry by then. He'd just had this way too often, and it really was rather nasty. "Fine, but you owe me big time," he huffed, giving her a glare they both knew had no real malice behind it. Hed figured out how to just pretty much chug it so he got it down without tasting too much of it a while ago, so he just put the bowl to his lips and had it gone in a few well places gulps. He set the bowl down with a grimace, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and then rubbing that off on one of the blankets he had.

Mari nodded softly after a moment. "Yep, big time," she grinned. She watched as he took the bowl at swallowed nearly all of it without chewing, flashing him a little smile when he was done. "See! Not that bad at all," she teased. Well, at least he'd eaten... and he'd eaten all of it, which meant she didn't have to worry all too much about making something else for him. Well, maybe she'd make something nice for him later for pudding or whatever. He'd probably want to see the kids at some point, too. Later, though.

Sage just snorted in response to Maris comments about it being not all that bad. "It was disgusting," he grumbled. "Tell the doctor to hire better cooks," he added with a huff, moving to curl back up under the blankets. He did feel better....although now he was getting tired again. That's what he hated most about being sick or hurt....he needs to go do things. Make himself useful. And he couldn't. He'd eat and then need to take a nap. Nothing really got done. It bugged him, especially when they really needed him to be making money to buy more dishes and carpet and stuff. "Everyone else is ok? Edith and them? And the animals are being taken care of?" There were things that still needed to happen, and he was concerned about the animals and such.

Mari rolled her eyes slightly at his complaint, but gave a slight nod. "It's not about the cooking... it's about making sure you get everything you need," she breathed gently after a moment or two. He needed to be healthy again, and to do so he needed a bit of proper care. Proper food, healing and the likes. Still, she wanted to make him feel a bit better about it all... somehow. "I'll run to the kitchen in the bit and make you some dessert," she chirped, hoping it would make him just a bit more upbeat. She hummed thoughtfully when he asked about her mothers and the kids. "They're doing good... do you want to see them?" She asked softly. She could go get them, although she could see he probably needed a bit of rest. She nodded about the animals, though. "Mhm. Xander and Anthony are seeing to them all," she promised.

Sage huffed out his breath. "Well there has to be a better way of doing that than this," he grumbled, a slight twitch of his lips forming a small smile when she mentioned making a dessert for him ruining his grumpy look. His face light up when she asked if he wanted to see the kids, nodding. He'd missed them....he really had. "What have you told them," he asked, not wanting to freak them out of anything. He nodded when she mentioned the animals were taken care of, relieved to have the other men to help out when needed. "If your mom's with the kids she can come say hi too," he noted as Mari moved to get up. The woman would be worried too, he knew.

Mari looked up at him after a moment, looking thoughtful. "Hmm... I'll try and make something for you tomorrow," she promised. At least she'd try and make him something nice with everything he needed in it. She sighed softly after a second when he asked what she'd told them. "Just that daddy isn't feeling good and that they need to be careful with you. My mother knows everything and..." she paused, cocking her head slightly. "Earlier... when you were speaking about the slave traders wanting more adults for other things, what did you mean?" She asked quietly.
