Sage sort of rolled his eyes in response to her comments, chuckling along as she spoke. "Old age," he protested. "I can do everything I could ten years ago," he added with a huff of air, crossing his arms, a playful grin plastered onto his face. "You're the one who's become less thrilled with my adventures over the years," he teased her lightly. They lingered there for a while longer, but did wander down to the kitchen after a while, making something small up just in time for the kids to wander downstairs.

Mari grumbled out a breath under her breath, then flashed him a rather amused looking smile. Yeah, no, his adventures had become less adventurous and more... let's try and stay alive. Even more so now that they had the kids. They needed their parents. She and Sage made breakfast together happily, and she couldn't help the smile that crossed her face when the kids came running down. It was just french toast, but they seemed more than thrilled with the whole thing. She plopped down in her chair once they were all settled, just glad to relax a little bit.

Sage let the conversation slide, and they moved downstairs to prepare the breakfast together. They didn't talk much....they didn't need to. It was all just a familiar pattern they were both very glad to have back. He had a grin etched across his face as the kids came down, their excitement contagious. He couldn't help but join them quickly at the table, more than glad to finally be home and healthy enough to actually talk to them. Spend time with them.

Mari gave a slight smile at the sight of everyone settling back in at home... it really was nice to see. She'd been scared for a while that she'd never see them all together again. The kids seemed thrilled, and Sage had the most amazing grin across his face. She sort of hummed quietly as she set the table up, eventually brining plates and the likes over to them.

Sage had helped make the food, but when the kids came down he'd admittedly just plopped down with them, just glad to spend some time with them. On a normal day he'd have helped Mari set the table up, but he'd missed his children. His mind has sort of just gone straight to them. He knew Mari wouldn't mind, of course... If he thought she'd have been upset he'd have just made sure everything was done and ready by the time the kids got here. But she was watching them all with a smile on her face, and he knew she was just as glad as him that their family was all safe and back together again.

Mari settled down happily, more than glad just to get a bit of time to relax together. Silas was yammering on about something, and Liz piped up the every so often just to ask a question or add to his stories. She didn't know if they were ever going to tell the kids what had happened. All they knew for the time being, was that their father had gone missing and had hurt himself. She did want them to be aware, though.. these people would be after everyone. They had to know that they couldn't really trust anyone on the streets, even if they wanted to.

Sage had thrown Mari a happy glance as she'd settled down at the table, sort of just keeping his attention focused on the kids. He'd missed Silas's constant chatter, and Liz's questions about the most random things. It was the small things, like this, that he'd vowed never to take for granted. It was easy to grab an apple and go to the barn without sitting down with the kids but ....he'd missed this. It was a wonderful thing to have and he didn't want to miss a second of it. He popped into the conversation occasionally, answering Liz's questions and responding to Silas occasionally as well ...though the boy barely even stopped to breathe so he never could get much in. That was ok ...he just liked listening to them. Hearing about things they found or did or enjoyed.

Mari ate in near silence as he and the kids chatted, more than pleased just to see them all happy together. It had been too long. Sage, Silas and Lizzie all together in their home. All safe. She couldn't help but let out a soft breath of air... it was all right again. She gave a small smile as she finished up, and moved to help clear up the table, more than happy to let Sage and the kids chat for a little while. It seemed like they'd needed to do that, at least.

Sage had chatted with the kids for a while longer, before he knew he had to go out to the barn. Anthony was still helping out, but sage wanted to get back into the swing of things. He needed something to do, anyhow. So he rose from the table after a while, pecking Mari on the cheek as he moved to head out. The kids chased after him, of course, wanting to help, so he was more than happy to let them tag along.
