"Hm, well...I grew up around the castle like any other royal, getting scolded for having too much sugar and running in the halls. I was privately tutored through school, acing everything and anything. My parents were pleased with me until I grew in my wings." He pasued, gesturing to them. "Mine are black theirs are a darker grey. My father hit my mother, claiming she'd cheated when really they were just a really really dark grey--my grandfather had the exact same shade, in fact. My father still thought of me as an abomination and whipped me or hit me whenever he could." Caelan pulled off his shirt, showing her the scars running jaggedly up and down his back. "Sorry" He muttered, realizing he must have surprised her by taking his shirt off. He quickly put it back on, careful of her reaction to his chest, abs, and scarred back being so exposed. "So I grew used to it and still avoid him as much as possible around the castle. Though, that's getting mighty hard with how many speeches adn confrences and meetings I have that include his attendance...Your turn" |

Adele listened intently as Caelan spoke. When she saw his scars, she winced, almost feeling his pain. She was once again grateful that she hadn't had a horrible childhood. "I might know something that can help with your scars," Adele said, musing. "I assume they hurt when you bend over too much? There's an herb that might help if I mix it with water, but it works best with a pinch of lavendar and milk... sorry, I kind of went on a rant there. The point is, if they ever hurt I think I could help." Adele finished listening to his words then said quietly, "I'm so sorry. That sounds really hard. Now I feel bad for telling you something so small and insignificant. Let me think about what else to say..." . (I'm gonna stop there for now, I have to go. "Please don't feel pressured to tell you everything, I just feel...safewith you. Like you won't hate me nearly no matter what I say about myself. I feel like if I'm honest with you, maybe you won't hate me." He admitted, srugging his shoulders. "If you want to help, that'd be great." He said, the sun nearly about to set now. "That went by fast." He muttered, getting up and offering her his hand to help her up. "We should head back before anyone misses us." He joked, chuckling a bit as he led her to her horse and helped her on. He mounted Aurora, leading the way back. Once they arrived and the horses were settled, Caelan walked protectively beside Adele, one hand on the small of her back. "If you don't want to come to dinner, I can bring you some afterwards?" He offered, speaking quietly in her ear as they walked upstairs |

Adele didn't know what to say to that, about being safe. So she just sat and listened. She took his hand and followed him to the horses, slightly sad to be leaving the cliff. The ride back was uneventful, and neither Adele nor Caelan spoke, savoring the little daylight that was left. Adele kept close to Caelan as they walked through the castle, carefully eyeing everything they passed. She was still intruiged about the Night Kingdom and its people, and wanted to learn everything she could about it. That didn't mean she wasn't scared. She definitely was. "No, I can come to dinner. If you think it's all right." Adele said. They reached her room and she turned to face Caelan. "I'll change and then I'll be ready. Meet me back here in ten minutes?" She said. "We can walk to dinner together." Adele didn't want to say that she was scared of walking through the castle alone, and that she felt safer with Caelan. |

"Of course" He said, dipping his head and heading back to his room. He changed out of the slightly dirty clothes his mother would surely scold him for and into a nearly identical outfit, his dagger in it's sheath at his side now added. He walked back over to Adele'd room and waited. Once she came out, he offered his arm and walked beside her down to dinner. His mother glared and Caelan pulled her to the side. "She is a guest and my friend. As your future king, I order you to treat her with respect as though she were me. Understood?" He said in a hushed yet very superior tone. His mother nodded in understanding and relayed the message to the king who nodded in Caelan's direction. He pulled out and pushed in Adele's seat for her, sitting beside her at the opposite head of the table across from his mother and father. He sat on a small throne and there was a matching one that Adele was in, Caelan rather liking how she looked there but not saying anything. Once the meal was over, Caelan excused both him and Adele and got up, offered his arm to Adele, and led her to the kitchens. "Wait here" He said softly, placing a hand on her shoulder briefly as he darted into the kitchen. He walked back out, beaming and carrying two warm blueberry muffins. "Let's go" He said softly, offering his arm once more as they climbed the steps to the rooms. "Would you like to come in? I can tell you more about my kingdom?" He offered quietly, knowing the guards were well aware of both him and her. "Unless you're too tired, then I can wait until tomorrow after my meetings." He added quickly. He didn't want to take up too much of her time or energy. He felt bad, dragging her all around without really asking her where she wanted to go or wat she wanted to do with or without him. |

Adele stepped into her room and closed the door. She looked through her bag for a dress that would be proffessional and elegant. Adele finally settled on one of the fanciest outfits she'd brought. It was a dark sky blue with gold stitching and long sleeves that draped nearly to the ground. She paired it with a sapphire and gold necklace, and worked with her hair until it was braided and twisted into a kind of bun. Satisfied in her work, Adele opened the door and walked to dinner with Caelan. Dinner was awkward, and she could hardly taste the food because she was so focused on not standing out or doing something wrong. She made it through without embarrassing herself and followed Caelan to the kitchen. She wondered what they were doing there, but then out came the prince with two delicious-smelling muffins. Adele was practically drooling over the smell, but she continued walking with the prince up to his room. "No, I'm not too tired. I'd like to learn about this kingdom. As much as I can. Also, that muffin is calling my name," Adele joked. She followed Caelan into his room and looked around, unsure where to sit. The bed, the floor, the desk chair... All seemed wrong. |

"You can sit on my bed, if you like." He said, pulling up his chair beside it so she didn't feel as awkward. "What would you like to know about the kingdom?" He asked softly, handing her a muffin |

Adele took a seat on the bed, thankful that Caelan was sitting on the chair. She greedily accepted the muffin and took a bite. It was warm, sweet, and delicious. "Thank you. I'd like to know about your customs and traditions, for now." |

"We don't have very many, mostly just if we have a dragon, no ther person besides, for example, me and whoever I marry are allowed to ride him." He said, shrugging. "We obviously have crowning ceremonies but there isn't much." He said softly |

"Interesting..." Adele said, thinking. "And what jobs do the townsfolk have? Normal jobs like farming and baking?" |
