I have noticed that a lot of people on HEE breed dogs or horses in real life, but are there any cat breeders?

I thinking being a cat breeder sounds like so much fun and I want to look into breeding maine coons after I graduate college.

That being said, how does one get into cat breeding? What do I need to know?

Im not a cat breeder, but I'd also love to breed main coons in the future!

I think many of the same principles apply from dog breeding, to first find a good breeder who is willing to mentor a new breeder, make sure the cats you get are registered and health tested against all the tests reccomended by the breed club and health test your own cats when the time comes to consider breeding!

I don't think it could hurt to try see if there are any local cat breeders of any breed and ask them questions about breeding or try to get involved in shows if there are any local!
