Versa with my son not gonna lie...we have to pin and hold him down.
I genuinely feel horrible doing it.
But for the dentist he cannot be awake at all.
He just had a full blown meltdown.
We even changed dentist that specializes in autistic children.

Down south, not gonna lie the first time I had blood drawn I passed out. XD I was around 18ish I think.
I scared my mom so bad I laughed afterwards.
What's weird is I didn't have a panic attack from it.
It just made me feel extremely tired after.
Guess my blood sugar was low are something.
Orange juice helped.

Sunni,
Odd. I mean, I was never rude or mean to my doctors in any way. Never tried to hit them or run away. *Maybe* I could see it for a kid more likely to lash out, but I dunno

Sunni,
For sure. But the idea of someone sedating a kid to make them take the needle is outlandish. Never heard of it lol

Versa a fear of needles is pretty common.

I was HORRIFIED of shots when I was a kid. Like, crying, shaking, stressed, pacing, and overall a wreck. Never once did they ever mention doing that to me. Orally or otherwise

I doubt they would even prescribe something to take orally.

That's really a doctor question, but probably not unless it's for life saving measures. Might just give the kid a chill pill like trazadone or something before the appointment
Hummingbird Meadows

@Star, I don't think they would ever do that. Sedation is typically given with an IV anyways.

Hi! I lease a horse right now who is being sent off to breeding in March or April, and the lesson horses at the stable I board at are not advanced enough for me, so I have to get a new horse to succed. My lifes goal is to show at WEC, they are the same amount away from me, I want to show at Ocala, but anyways, I need a horse that can take me there. I need something that is not a begginer horse in any means, jumps 3' Higher, and has gates that move well. I am quite picky though, I want something about 16 hh, preferably under 10 years. I just need something that can carry me to Ocala. I know that sounds really picky, but If im going to have something for the rest of their life, I want to make sure they are the right one <3
Anyone have any tips or tricks for finding the right horse?

Talk to your instructor, or your vet! Chances are they'll know of at least a few horses that might work for you! And even if they don't, they'll probably remember in the future when a horse that would work comes along!

If theres boarders at your barn, talk to them, they might know some people. You've probably already looked but people also put horses up on facebook a lot. And a lot of people will advertise horses at shows. Good luck!

Depending on where you live, a lot of the horses you'd be interested in are probably in Ocala/Wellington right now for the winter circuit. It's a great time to buy down south and an awful time up north lol.
My advice is to follow your trainer's lead, and don't rush into buying something. I was horse shopping a year ago, and it took me SIX MONTHS to find something, and the horse I ended up buying wasn't even for sale until the day I saw her ad (I bought her exactly one week later). So your perfect horse is out there- don't be afraid to wait for it!

Thank you! I board my lease at the current barn im at, but there is only 3 other boarders at my barn, and they are all underage, I will for sure ask them or there gaurdians though!
We do look mainly on facebook, thats where a few of my friends have found there horses, its just we cant find one that really catches our eyes as the right one?
Also, Ive had a lot of people say that advertising happends at shows, but belive it or not ive never seen a horse for sale at a show? Not at all saying your wrong, Ive had an old trainer get a few horses tht way, just saying it never seems to happen to me :)
Thank you so much for the advice!!!

Thank you! I really want to show in the Ocala area, but I am from up north :) I live on the east coast, about... 8-9 hours from Ocala? I would love to but a horse pre-trained for the rated circut, but honestly they are quite pricy, and I think it would ba also nice to be training one in hand?
Your right, Ive seen so many great ads for down south, but all the horses up here are either 12 hand 4 yo, or 17 hand 20 yo!

Six months is crazy! Im glad you found a good horse though!
Thank you so much for the advice!!
