I love my stallion but i also would love if he wouldnt add insult to injury and make pretty colts, like sir. Make ugly geldable colts 😭

Versa with my son not gonna lie...we have to pin and hold him down.
I genuinely feel horrible doing it.
But for the dentist he cannot be awake at all.
He just had a full blown meltdown.
We even changed dentist that specializes in autistic children.

Down south, not gonna lie the first time I had blood drawn I passed out. XD I was around 18ish I think.
I scared my mom so bad I laughed afterwards.
What's weird is I didn't have a panic attack from it.
It just made me feel extremely tired after.
Guess my blood sugar was low are something.
Orange juice helped.

Sunni,
Odd. I mean, I was never rude or mean to my doctors in any way. Never tried to hit them or run away. *Maybe* I could see it for a kid more likely to lash out, but I dunno

I would have loved to have been doped up when i was a kid lol, i get blood tests regularly so i just say screw it lol

Star that would be a good question for a doctor.

Sunni,
For sure. But the idea of someone sedating a kid to make them take the needle is outlandish. Never heard of it lol
Sunni

Versa a fear of needles is pretty common.

I was HORRIFIED of shots when I was a kid. Like, crying, shaking, stressed, pacing, and overall a wreck. Never once did they ever mention doing that to me. Orally or otherwise

Id keep him and watch his training first alex

I doubt they would even prescribe something to take orally.
Snitches' Stitches
10:20:45 Snitch
Star
That's really a doctor question, but probably not unless it's for life saving measures. Might just give the kid a chill pill like trazadone or something before the appointment
Hummingbird Meadows
10:19:48 Bird
@Star, I don't think they would ever do that. Sedation is typically given with an IV anyways.

If you're not planning on breeding him, then gelding would be best for his training

So my family member in AZ wants me to come visit her and I love her and all and of course I want to visit. The thing is I haven't seen her in over a year and in that time I got a horse on accident 😂
I've had him for a year and I haven't told her, she just knows that I've been working at a barn
I don't think she'll approve of my horse for a multitude of reasons
Is there some way that you guys know to tell her with a best possible outcome or just avoid that convo entirely? I'm not sure 🥲

why wouldnt she approve?
honestly if its that bad just tell her that your like partially sharing the horse with your trainer or something like that. My aunt was fixated for some reason on me never owning a horse and i just told her that he was my friend/trainers horse and that he just let me ride him lol

Why does it matter if she approves or not? She's not the one footing the bill. Just be casual about it- "oh, here's a pic of my horse :)".
Sidenote- I never told my mom I got a second horse. I just moved barns a few times and she realized he was at every single barn I moved to and she called me out on it lmao. We're on good terms now

I value our relationship she can just be petty on occasion? Bring up the 'what else aren't you telling me' or 'life would be easier without that horse' things like that
Yeah I might just bring it up casually LOL
😂 Puck thats amazing
'oh he's just a mascot for a bunch of barns 😅'

I totally get where you are coming from. I would just nicely say, "I appreciate that you are interested in my life, but I don't want to talk about my horse."

If she keeps asking or bothering you about it just keep repeating that. People get the message really quick. ;)

Also, don't feel guilty about setting that boundary. You are not responsible for her feelings and it sounds like there is plenty of other things you can talk about together.
