Professional connections are great, but they're just that: professional. It doesn't extend past that.

As I've gotten to more specialized classes it's been easier to talk to people because we are starting to have the same niche interests loll
The Old Gods
02:22:06 Void Malign
Having something in common to talk about is one of the key ways to make friends with someone
Red Horizon Ranch
02:21:22 Red
Void, I think you're right about needing to have things in common. As I'm applying to grad school it's important for me to make connections and have references from undergrad. I have no problem talking to people with similar passions and career goals but yeah if there's nothing in common...that is tough
The Old Gods
02:21:10 Void Malign
I mean. I'm talking over 5 years ago with a bunch of late 20s+ lol
Hummingbird Meadows
02:19:11 Bird
I think that is the problem with my generation and generations younger than me. They don't know how to meet new people.

Alternatively, there was just nothing in common to talk about
The Old Gods
02:15:09 Void Malign
Eh. I never made connections in school. Everyone was interested in getting to their own class or quickly formed cliques
Hummingbird Meadows
02:14:30 Bird
@Red, I have experienced that too. But, overall people didn't talk to each other at in-person classes either. I would always try to talk the students I sat next to and would be given the weirdest looks for trying to socialize. XD
Red Horizon Ranch
02:13:01 Red
I also enjoy online classes for the flexibility, but I miss the networking aspect. You really have to go out of your way to make connections in my experience and its...very hard
Red Horizon Ranch
02:09:23 Red
Bird, that sounds like a super interesting career. Best of luck <3

@Ven, I mean COVID taught me that I thrive in online learning. I prefer teaching myself in my own time. I live at home too because housing is too expensive and I struggle with roommates because of my autism.
Stormsong Manor
02:07:13 Ven
There are multiple factors at play. COVID boosted the online learning environment, the economy is shit so kids are living at home with their parents longer, etc
Hummingbird Meadows
02:06:22 Bird
@Ven, that's is odd.
Stormsong Manor
02:05:57 Ven
The social skills are almost nonexistent and mom/dad do everything for everyone. I'm not blaming the students but that's how it is
Stormsong Manor
02:04:39 Ven
The students here are not what I remember when I was in college doing my bachelor's about fifteen years ago. We had online classes but COVID really made them explode. I lived on campus and was super independent. This is a commuter school with no on-campus housing and I swear to god these young adults are babies
Hummingbird Meadows
02:03:11 Bird
@Red, radiology tech (taking x-rays). I love what I am learning and enjoy practicing at clinicals, but my experience with the school has been horrible. I can't transfer. There are only 2 other schools in the state that have this program. One is far away and the other is just as crappy.
Red Horizon Ranch
02:02:02 Red
Truly terrible...what are you studying? Can you transfer? You absolutely deserve the bare minimum out of your teachers
Hummingbird Meadows
01:58:28 Bird
@Red, it is. My professors won't even answer their emails so I have no way to contact them. The classes are mostly online so you are just kind of stuck.

Wow, sounds like everyone had a good RO! I feel like I see a lot of shiny foals these days!!

It's been awhile since I've been in these club forums. I came back from a hiatus sometime in May. How's everyone doing?

The foals this year *-* Congrats everyone!

I'm brooding out one of my champagne girls (#46 WBLB) and a maiden that's training really nicely but I just don't have room for in my line up. Both can be found here. I'm happy to offer some TWS discounts if they will be prioritized!

I have added the first embryo for my Gold Creme Dun Pearl Tobiano WWW maiden to this thread!

TB mare I'd go Thomil or Karamanzov
WB mare I'd go Rainier, Cinnamon Roll or Orome
