I had the same experience while researching which is what led me to do that. Private insurance of all kinds is a total scam in my opinion, they only care about profits and will never have your best interests at heart

It is Bird, instead of doing insurance I have opted to have a pets savings account that I deduct a little for each paycheck. So I have a fund if god forbid I ever need it and I don't have to line the pockets of the sleezy insurance people
