As far as making it more appealing, one thing you can consider is putting a window cling onto the window. Just something basic. Birds see in UV, which means the window (reflecting the outside world) is basically just a big, bright "beam" of another world. They don't see you at all! But they also sometimes accidentally strike the window. A cling will help keep them safe, whether it be something Easter related or just a few little dots!

Thankfully I haven't noticed anyone hit the window! Maybe I'll scoot the feeder more into the bush and shade just to be sure. I'll buy a cling and see if I can fit some wood onto the feeder to make it more friendly and visible. I think I'll buy some live bugs to introduce the feeder too. Thanks for your help! They're so dang cute, i can't belive they don't see me lol. I also can't believe these are the decendents of avian dinosaurs XD Edited at April 10, 2025 12:49 PM by SJ_Foundation

Unfortunately there are some wasps moving in. Do I do anything about it? I don't want to poison a bird or squirrel

I usually eradicate wasp nests using a mop, actually! Put some dish soap in a spray bottle mixed with water, and spray away. The soap gets the water through the exoskeleton of the wasp and kills them. Or the mop can just annihilate the nest lol.

Dually noted. Got me preparing for battle lol. Imma do it at night so the birds don't see me disturbing the area and the colder temperatures hopefully slow down any attacks.

Male bluebird feeding our beautiful female! ( Click). She makes such sweet little noises to him <3 Fair warning that he's feeding her a small (dead) spider.

He is a bit of a tease. Going in and out before giving her the spider.
