As long as they have one S or higher they can (but not always will) do just fine. I have had a SAA gelding be my top show horse before

is it a bad thing to have a gelding with ratings under PPP? Obviously they won't be breeding so that's not an issue, but I'm just wondering if the rating still makes a difference

Also installed a camera from Nest Box Live, since they use the same box anyhow. :)

If anybody else wants to install a birdhouse, camera or none, a couple important things to keep in mind:
  • They do best facing North or Northeast
  • The entrance should have a clear flight path
  • Keep it at least five feet from the ground, and stable. The swinging ones aren't popular with birds, as if a storm comes up, it can cause serious harm to their babies

We're looking quite hopeful! Both the male and the female came back today. Yay!
The first two are images of the male, and the third is the female. Eastern Bluebirds usually start looking for places to nest around February, so it's the perfect time, and excellent that they decided to return! Means that they are heavily considering this spot, to remain in the area and check it again. :)

Seriously though, lol!
This has been my favourite birdhouse for a long time, so I'm happy they took to it so quickly! I was preparing to remind people that it can take a few weeks before anybody spots it lol
