Well, what i'm trying to say is that while elites and worlds are ideal, premiums are more than adequate for showing and should not be overlooked by players that maybe don't have the finances yet for better rated stock.

Same, with my Dressage and XCountry show geldings.

My best (money making) gelding Jumpers all have either a W or an E for Jumping.

At my other stable, right now, some of my best show geldings are an ASP and a SPP showing in jumping.

My apologies, I just realized i'm getting y'all mixed up.

But yes, premium and elite horses make good show horses.

It's true there are lots of really nice foals for sale for cheap that would make excellent show horses.

Wolfswood - I would buy a better horse, not try to capture one.

I'm not saying you should, but if you're looking to free range one of your horses, i would choose Steadfast.

Really? That's not the vibe I'm getting on keeping a PPP.

PPPs can be good show horses

So my family member in AZ wants me to come visit her and I love her and all and of course I want to visit. The thing is I haven't seen her in over a year and in that time I got a horse on accident 😂
I've had him for a year and I haven't told her, she just knows that I've been working at a barn
I don't think she'll approve of my horse for a multitude of reasons
Is there some way that you guys know to tell her with a best possible outcome or just avoid that convo entirely? I'm not sure 🥲

why wouldnt she approve?
honestly if its that bad just tell her that your like partially sharing the horse with your trainer or something like that. My aunt was fixated for some reason on me never owning a horse and i just told her that he was my friend/trainers horse and that he just let me ride him lol

Why does it matter if she approves or not? She's not the one footing the bill. Just be casual about it- "oh, here's a pic of my horse :)".
Sidenote- I never told my mom I got a second horse. I just moved barns a few times and she realized he was at every single barn I moved to and she called me out on it lmao. We're on good terms now

I value our relationship she can just be petty on occasion? Bring up the 'what else aren't you telling me' or 'life would be easier without that horse' things like that
Yeah I might just bring it up casually LOL
😂 Puck thats amazing
'oh he's just a mascot for a bunch of barns 😅'

I totally get where you are coming from. I would just nicely say, "I appreciate that you are interested in my life, but I don't want to talk about my horse."

If she keeps asking or bothering you about it just keep repeating that. People get the message really quick. ;)

Also, don't feel guilty about setting that boundary. You are not responsible for her feelings and it sounds like there is plenty of other things you can talk about together.
