Sage couldn't help but smile softly when amber immediately settled down in Anyas lap. Maybe a kitten would be good for the girl...would keep her company. Something to hug or cry to. It had certainly helped him. The kittens were due soon...very soon. It might be a nice thought. At Anyas comment though, he nodded and set his empty plate down, moving to take care of her dishes as well. "I'll tell Mari we're heading out and then we can go," he noted softly, moving to pop his head upstairs. When he noted that she was still asleep, he scrawled out a note he hoped she could read, and then moved downstairs to get Anya and hook up chaos. They were heading back to the castle soon enough, though it was still early in the day.

Anya sat for a while as Sage scuttled about, just sort of zoning out. She was so scared. Her mother dying was one, big thing, but now she had so much more she had to do. Her parents had done very little while they were sick. She had so much she had to do and fix... meetings, events, all of it. Hell, even organising the guards seemed like a hastle as of then. She sighed at that thought, and just shook her head. She hated all of this. She wanted something more simple, like what Sage had. A little family, a house and a nice little job to keep her occupied. She'd never get that. She wanted to end the cycle when she took Atticus on. Make sure he had attention, knew he was loved, and be prepared for his life. She'd failed to do that, and now she wouldn't be able to make it up to him. Eventually, though, she sighed and went to the cart, travelling the whole way back until they made it to the gates.

Once they were back at the castle, the guards moved to take chaos down to the barns, and sage moved to walk Anya back inside and up to her room. "If you need anything, and I do mean anything... Give me a holler," he noted gently, before they hugged and parted ways. He wandered down to the doctors office after a bit, spending an hour or two there before moving to find att. The boy could use some time to have some fun, and he wanted to see how Luther had grown up and such anyway.

Anya settled down in her room quietly, and just gave a slight nod to him when he said to call on him if she needed anything. It was nice of him, but she already felt bad enough for intruding in the middle of the night. She didn't know what else to do, or who to go to. She all of a sudden felt like the world was closing in on her. Her parents funerals would be at the same time in a few weeks time, since it had all happened so close together. It was scary, really. She eventually settle down though, curling up in her bed and trying to get to sleep.

Sage did hope Anya turned out ok...and he would visit fairly often until everything was settled, he knew that. He'd found att fairly easily, and they spent a few hours with Luther before he knew he had to get back to his own home, so he moved to grab chaos and ride back, taking care of the horses quick and then move back to the house itself. He hadn't expected to be completely exhausted once he got back inside, but a wave of exhaustion hit him once he'd sat down, and he pretty much just passed out on the couch the moment he relaxed.

Mari woke up later in the day, admittedly very groggy. She wandered down the stairs quietly, not looking too dissimilar from a zombie. She stumbled down the last few stairs, although when she straightened up, she smiled at the sight of Sage passed out on the couch. She wandered over the kitchen to put some tea on, the events of the evening slowly coming back to her. She sighed and wandered over to sit on the edge of the couch, her brows pinched together thoughtfully.

Sage didn't move as Mari came down the stairs, a testament to how tired he was. Even when he was tired, he was a light sleeper, so the fact that he didn't move even once she sat down next to him probably told Mari what she even needed to know. Eventually though, he did stir, and sort of gave her a groggy smile when he noticed her perched there. "Sleep ok once you got back to bed," he sort of murmured, shifting to run a hand over his face and sit up a bit.

Mari looked over to him when she felt him shift, and gave a small chuckle and a bit of a nod before leaning in to peck his lips. "I slept fine," she murmured quietly to him, a bit of a smile across her face, albeit a groggy one. "You guys get along okay?" She asked after a moment. She didn't really understand it at all, but she was worried. Sage knew that she didn't exactly trust the princess to rule, and seeing her the way she was last night worried her even more. She she understood, though. She'd been heartbroken when her own father had died.

Sage nodded softly and then ran his hand through his hair tiredly, shifting to sit up a bit. "She's back at the castle....she calmed down and ate something small after a while of crying," he noted softly. Then he shrugged. "I suggested she appoint a reagant for a few weeks, five herself time to grieve without any other major responsibilities pulling at her. She'll give her a few weeks to heal, then plans on moving forward with things," he added. "She's pretty upset, but seems to be doing ok," he murmured after a moment or so. Really, he was just glad she'd come to him when she needed it rather than....something else. Drinking or something like that again.

Mari made herself comfortable once he'd shifted, although she did just seem exhausted. She'd gotten more sleep than he did, though, so she could be grateful for that at least. She sighed and moved to settle down next to him. She wasn't surprised the woman was upset... but she was glad Sage was able to help. He was such a big part of... well, Anya, she supposed. It would have ment so much to the woman to actually have someone around to help. She smiled and leaned over to peck his lips before sitting up again. "She's lucky you're around. I don't think you ever really gauge what a good guy you are, you know," she murmured with a small smile.
