Sage chuckled softly and nodded, wrinkling his nose slightly. "The queen wasn't my biggest fan, but she did her job well," he hummed. "And she did love Anya," he added with a shrug. He wasn't exactly friendly towards the older woman, but she had his respect, he supposed. He hummed softly when she mentioned finding him new friends, thinking about it for a moment before shrugging it off. "I guess I'm just not one to go find many friends," he mused. He'd worked with the guards, and they'd enjoyed each other's company but none of them were his friends. "I'm ok with you and the kids and the animals," he added with a laugh. Though, when she agreed to a vacation, he smiled lightly and nodded. "Ill start planning something out," he chirped.

Mari nodded softly in agreement. She always like the queen - she had a fairly level head, even if she didn't always like everyone. The king was a different story. She was glad he was dead. Fat old man with not a care for anyone but himself. No, he could rot in the ground with the worms. She cocked her head at him after a moment and rolled her eyes softly, pecking the vase of his neck. "Sage, baby, we'll find you some friends," she mused lightly. She'd said the same thing to him years ago, just before Silas was born. Yeah, they didn't didn't have many family friends. Whatever. She smiled when he agreed to plan... something, out though. "Make sure it's somewhere not too far. I don't want to drag the kids on a two day boat ride just to spend s week there," she huffed.

Sage chuckled softly, a grin crossing his face at her peck, just like it always did. "Maybe," he hummed softly. He wasn't opposed to it of course, but he did still struggle to let people in. To trust them. That was something he'd never get rid of, he didn't think. Oh well.....he really didn't mind. He had what he needed here, and he wouldn't change anything about his life here. Though, at Maris comment, he nodded with a sort of grunt of agreement. "I'm not sure a boat could hold them and their energy for that long," he noted with a soft laugh.

Mari felt a little smile cross her face at his comment, then shrugged gently. "Well it's whatever you want, really... but you know, when you're old and the kids have moved out and i'm all you've got left, you're gonna be mega bored," she chuckled. She then smiled at his comment. Nope, no boat would ever hold their children. She loved them to hell and back, but it was still just so... tiresome sometimes. She didn't want to be worrying about them on some boat the whole time.

Sage hummed softly and shrugged in response to her comment. "I dunno, I can keep myself entertained with you well enough," he noted lightly. "Besides, I'd still have the art and animals too," he pointed out, pecking her head lightly. "Though the quiet would seem a little odd without the kids running around the house," he admitted. He'd just have to get a cat or dog or... something. Something Mari would let in the house more specifically. If it were up to him chaos could hang around but Mari definitely would not appreciate that. It was an amusing thought really.

Mari wrinkled her nose at him with a bit of a chuckle. "Oh, Sage, I love you so much," she mused, then wrinkled her nose slightly. "But I don't think you could keep me entertained for that long," she laughed softly to him after a moment or two. She nodded in agreement when he said it'd be quieter without the kids, though. She'd miss them. She glanced up at him with a goofy grin when he pecked her head, clearly amused about the whole thing. "I dunno. Maybe we'll just start adopting children off the streets just to keep the place alive," she laughed lightly.

Sage chuckled softly and gave her a grin. "I'll get you a dog," he chirped, knowing that while a puppy would be fun, it would also be a lot of work Mari may not especially appreciate. He could joke about it all though. Though, he wrinkled his nose slightly with a small laugh when she mentioned adopting kids off the streets. "I do have a knack at having street kids pretty much dumped into my arms," he mused in thought, rather amused that it had happened so many times.

Mari raised her brows at him after a moment, a grin spreading across her face. "You'll... get me a dog?" She asked with a giggle before nodding excitedly. "Sage, baby, I asked for a puppy like on our last holiday," she chuckled. Besides, if it was when the kids had all moved out, it would give her something to do... and they all know how she loved having things to do. She then nodded in agreement, though. "You do, very much so," she mused. "We can transform the kids rooms into like... a nursery for all the kids you somehow bring home," she chuckled lightly, shaking her head.

Sage chuckled softly and shrugged. "I never said we couldn't get one," he mused with a soft chuckle. In all honesty the kids would adore a puppy ...though they may want to wait until ambers litter would be able to hold their own before getting one. He nodded along in response to her comment about the kids though, unable to help but laugh. "That may be a good idea," he joked lightly, really just amused by the whole conversation.

Mari huffed out a breath, crossing her arms over her chest tightly. "Well you never said we could. I'd have a whole ass dog by now!!" she complained in an amused manner before shaking her head. She looked so thoughtful for a moment, then grumbled something over her breath. "Actually, no... I changed my mind. Let's not have an orphanage. I'd be the one looking after them, and the only kids I can stand are my own. We've seen how I handle any other child," she huffed.
