Sage hummed softly with a nod as she mentioned hoping it wasn't too weird, knowing exactly what she meant. The kids didn't need to know what happened ....not now. Not for a long time. Though, her next comment surprised him, and he glanced down at himself before chuckling. "I suppose it has been a while," he mused, setting the now empty tray aside and moving to slide off of the bed. He had a hold of her shoulder, to steady himself, but he found he could walk around mostly on his own. That was good, too.

Mari nodded lightly in agreement after a few moments, though soon sighed. "It's been long enough," she mused. She had sort of realised how long it had been since she'd actually spent time with him - not just checking in, but actually just spending time just... being with him. She let him lean on her shoudler for a moment, shifted so that sher was just holding his hands, kind of stood infront of him. "Try walking yourself a little," she murmured. Maybe she could get him home a bit sooner if he could at least walk alone.

Sage humemd and nodded, sort of giving her a small look of surprise and somewhat of a nervous edge too when she told him to walk on his own. He could probably do it, but still...it had been a while. But he just squeezed her hands and moved to take a few heasitant steps. He got to the bathroom ok, then sat down on the edge of the tub breathless. He sort of waited for Mari to fuss with getting water turned on before starting to undress, giving himself a moment to just breathe.

Mari felt a soft breath escape her as he agreed to try a little, and sort of moved backwards slowly. She was ready to catch him at any moment, of course, but thankfully he didn't need it. She helped him down before flicking the bath on to a decent temperature. "That wasn't so bad!" She chirped. At least he could get to the bathroom, she supposed.

Sage chuckled softly and nodded. "Oh, I wasn't worried about walking. I'm worried about what I'll feel like after a nap," he noted with a slight twinge of amusement to his voice, moving to tug his shirt off slowly, so as not to open anything back up. Really it shouldn't be an issue by now, aside from the ones he'd opened when he'd fallen out of the bed ...but even those were pretty much healed up ok. It wasn't long before he was in the bathroom though, and he let out a content sigh as the warm water envelopes him.

Mari pursed her lips after a few moments, pouting thoughtfully. "I'll make sure the doctor drugs you up properly," she hummed, then offered a slight smile. "I just wanted to see if you could do it yourself," she admitted, sort of sitting on the floor next to the bath when he climbed in. She had to admit, it was the main thing she was worried about... she wanted to make sure he could at least get around the house incase she wasn't there. She wanted to see to it that he'd be okay, and maybe she'd start thinking about getting him home a little earlier.

Sage sort of chuckled and nodded. "He drugged me up enough already," he noted with fond amusement. The man had visited often, but he was also very busy with a lot of people that had been rescued. Even so, he love and care never wavered. "Well, I guess I could," he hummed after a moment. Then he let out a breath. "I just wish it would heal faster," he grumbled softly. He hated laying around, being useless. Away from home. Mari knew that, and it probably wasn't fair to complain to her but ...well, he was fed up with it.

Mari smiled, cocking her head. "Well, I'll have him drug you up enough that when you wake up you don't feel any of it," she chuckled slightly. She hoped he wouldn't feel any of it, anyway... having him in pain was getting a bit... sad. Worst way to put it, but it was also the truth. This was sad. She shifted to sort of look at him, puffing her cheeks out slightly. "I know," she sighed. "You'll be better soon. I mean, a few days ago I was worried you wouldn't make it through the night," she added, offering a bit of a snicker. "Now look at you. Not healed, but... better. What more could we ask for?" She asked gently.

Sage chuckled softly and nodded, sort of moving to grab the soap. Dealing with his hair was still a bit hard since his scans were still stiff and all, but he could get his body easily enough. "I feel a lot better," he admitted. "And the doctors been weaning me off some of the ends slowly." He was never uncomfortable....but he could feel himself being more independent and less drugged up all the time. "Not much," he noted, moving to squeeze her hand lightly.

Mari nodded, sort of watching him before closing her eyesand resting her head back against the wall. She had a tendancy to... baby Sage. Do everything for him. The truth was, a little bit of movement now was probably pretty good for him. He just neeeded to relax or whatever. If he needed help, he'd ask for it. "Well, tell him to take it extra slow. I don't need you in pain," she warned, sort of cocking her head at him. When he squeezed her hand, though, she sort of moved to press a soft kiss to the back of his hand. "We'll have you home soon, babe. Promise,"she whispered.
