I've seen several people online suggest EQYSS Mega Tek Rebuilder for mane/tail growth, including regrowing rubbed hair. I found this thread decently helpful: Link Good luck with the mane :)

Combined with diet. I feed alfalfa pellets, beet pulp shredded, grass pasture all year, Silver Lining Herbs - Total Body, Joint, Immune. You need a good omega oil and full supplement like the mentioned to get good results. For oil, I use organic coconut, 1/4 cup a day. Weekly baths with Ultracruz products has helped a ton. Also, very rarely brush if ever. Use your hands and a great detangler like Vetrolin Shine. Make sure he is wormed regularly. More forage and little sugar makes a huge difference. I do not grain my mares. They are 25 and 29 this year. If you don't have much money, Ultracruz has a skin and coat supplement for far less than I get mine at Silver Lining Herbs. Good reviews for it.

Quality hay and a good mineral block will do it. I don't really believe in topical stuff. Hoof and hair are from the inside out. Both our horses had crappy manes and tails and just from giving them good hay and a mineral block their tails hit the ground.
