Geldings still matter in rating although you can get away with a lot

It is bad for breeding, some people probably don’t keep them for showing but I do sometimes and they can do fine

for geldings it doesn't matter as much, as you don't breed with them (because you want higher rated studs for higher rated foals)

You could keep him as a pretty show gelding. It’ll take a while for him to get trained up but one of my top money earners in shows is an SSS gelding I caught
