The guards ignored him before they started talking among themselves... a few hours went by before two new guards were posted outside his cell they also ignored him playing cards and talking among themselves for a while. (Sorry I'm a little stuck LOL)

eh) "My god your making me choose? What a honor. You gave me a dirty look, your the one I said had a unzipped fly. That was pretty funny." He said, creeping his hands out of his cell and snapping one of the guards necks. The other guard stood and stared at Gale, darting off. "Uh,hello?Dumb ass guard." He mutters, analyzing the lock on his cell door.Gale had picked off the shackles a while ago, pretty bad. With a couple of movements,he was out.He looked at a map he saw, memorizing where the weaponry was.Shouting erupted. "Chaos.I love it." Gale mused before darting off. "Finally, the weaponry." He said, walking in.There were swords, cross bows, spears, axes, even cannons. With a smirk Gale grabbed the nearest bow.A black one with intricite golden details, followed along with black arrows also with gold details. He grabbed a black long cloak, pulling it on and slinging the quiver over his shoulder, darting out.

I think I got somethin')) The guards grabbed their dogs as well giving them the shackles to smell for his scent before setting them loose... the big black and tan dogs racing after the scent they'd been told to follow, the soldiers (some on horseback) following behind... it looked almost like a fox hunt. Meanwhile in the iron kingdom Adeline had just gotten settled in her room... her wardrobe was already representative of the king and his kingdom... she wore a long grey gown adorned in different silver designs... it was a lot fancier than what she was used to but for the moment... she didn't care... she retired to her room only a few hours after her fiancee passed out drunk in the main sitting room... she winced hearing an explosion and ran to her bedroom window flinging open the glass and looking into the distance... a short ways away there was a cloud of smoke... and a quick red puff... they'd just blown open a new mine. "I'm getting out of the tower... and taking the whole damn castle with me." Edited at January 4, 2025 01:24 AM by Polar Lights

Gale's heart pounded as the sound of hounds' barking grew louder behind him. He could hear the pounding hooves of the soldiers on horseback, their galloping drawing nearer with each passing second. His black cloak billowed behind him, blending into the night, but he could feel the weight of the quiver against his back, the bow in his hand ready for use. His mind was racing as he darted through the shadows of the prison courtyard, eyes darting for any route that could give him an advantage. He heard the hounds growl as they picked up his scent, their paws slapping against the ground in pursuit. The soldiers were a step behind, their voices now a mix of shouting commands and curses. Gale grinned, his lips curling in excitement. The thrill of the chase always got his blood pumping. He reached for an arrow, nocking it against the string of his bow as he slowed his pace just enough to steady his shot. The lead soldier was approaching fast, just a few yards away. Gale's fingers tightened around the bowstring. With a swift motion, he released the arrow, sending it whistling through the air. The arrow struck true, hitting the soldier in the shoulder and sending him reeling from his horse. His momentum carried him forward, but his body crumpled to the ground as the horse galloped on, riderless. Gale didn't stop to watch. He kept running, eyes scanning for the next obstacle. The hounds were still gaining, their feral instincts guiding them closer. Gale needed to get higher ground, somewhere they couldn't reach him. He spotted a nearby building—a tall watchtower just a few hundred feet away. Without hesitation, Gale veered off to the left, leaping over a low stone wall and dashing toward the tower. He could hear the soldiers shouting orders, their horses still behind him, but they wouldn't be able to reach him in time. He grinned again, adrenaline coursing through his veins. The chaos had only just begun.

The guards and the dogs followed until they reached the wall... a few of the braver dogs climbed/jumped over the small stone fence as did a few of the horses... However most skidded to a stop, tossed their riders over the fence and took off instead of staying behind. It took a moment for the hounds to pick up the scent again but once they did they threw their heads back in a mighty howl before they ran after him again "The tower!" one of the guards who had been tossed shouted "He's headed for the tower get him!" he shouted as a few of the other horses and riders ran past him whilst he got to his feet. Her own words hung in the air for as long as the smoke billowed... a small smile crossed her face as she nodded... she'd play nice... for a time... she thought before she stepped back and closed the windows settling into bed with a content sigh... she had something of a plan... now it was just putting it into action. (So sorry for the inactivity! had a busy couple of days wasn't really able to get on for more than maybe 10 mins or so.)

Gale turned, shooting one of the guards with the arrow before sprinting up the tower.Guards flooded in,him grabbing a arrow and fighting with it. Once he had a place around him,he stepped into the windowsill with no glass, spreading his arms before falling back, cloak belowing behind him.

The guards nearly tumbled out the window after him a dog or two lept out behind him to an uncertain fate but... that was about it... a few yelps were heard from the dogs that had fallen and then... silence. The guards on the ground beginning to search for Gale's body... he'd survived one fall... they weren't going to take any chances this time. (Skip if you need!)

(just had to post that but yeah, lets skip) Gale's heart pounded as the wind rushed past him, the sensation of freefalling filling his senses. The world seemed to slow, the distant ground drawing nearer with every passing second. His cloak billowed outward behind him, adding an extra sense of defiance to the daring jump. Below him, the stone walls of the castle blurred into a dizzying whirlwind of color and structure. He had only one chance. His boots collided with the outer stone wall just below the tower’s windowsill, his body absorbing the shock as he pushed off with everything he had. Gale landed lightly, rolling across the uneven ground in the courtyard, quickly darting into the maze of castle structures. He could hear the guards' frantic shouts from above, but he didn’t stop to look back. There wasn’t time. Every step carried him deeper into the shadowed corridors of the castle, past statues, columns, and heavy tapestries. He moved like a shadow himself, silent and fast, his mind calculating each turn and corner. His escape had to be flawless. Gale slipped into a narrow passage, hoping it would take him out of the castle grounds. He ignored the pain in his side, pushing forward as the sounds of pursuit grew louder behind him. He knew the castle better than most; every hidden doorway, every shortcut, every guard post was burned into his memory. Reaching a set of large, ornate double doors, he pushed through, stepping into a small courtyard surrounded by high walls. Outside, the moonlight cast long shadows across the cobblestones. There was no time to admire the view. Gale moved swiftly toward the outer gate, where a small postern door stood slightly ajar. He’d planned for this moment for months, knowing the guards would be distracted by his fall and the chaos within the castle walls. His fingers brushed the cold iron of the door handle, and with a quick glance over his shoulder, he slipped into the night, disappearing into the forest beyond. The guards’ voices echoed faintly in the distance, but Gale was already gone, a ghost in the darkness, free for now—but only just.

As time went by Adelines brother didn't give in on finding Gale... The man had betrayed his sister after taking advantage of her and was a fugitive... he was certainly not about to give up the chase. Three moons had come and gone already and there wasn't a trace of the lad. But he didn't stop looking, the chase was maddening and without his sister to keep him sane the young king found himself spiraling into madness. Adeline was putting on a good show for her husband and their citizens though she never once (aside from a public show of affection) let him touch her... she still kept to her quarters and he kept to his... at least on the nights he wasn't in a drunken stupor... those were the nights where her door was locked and a chair was pressed against it... the kingdom was beginning to talk though... they were amazed that she wasn't a few months into producing an heir for her husband, what they didn't know was she had other ideas. Winning the favor of the citizens of the iron kingdom granted her certain friendships as well as some rather odd questions... such as how the explosives they used to open new caverns worked.

The forest embraced him like an old friend, its towering trees and thick underbrush offering the cover he needed. Gale moved swiftly through the shadows, barely disturbing the leaves beneath his boots. The chill of the night air stung his skin, but the adrenaline coursing through his veins kept the cold at bay. His breath came in shallow gasps, his mind racing ahead, calculating the distance between him and the castle with every step. He couldn’t afford to slow down. Not yet. The forest seemed to stretch on forever, but Gale knew the way. He had memorized every path, every creek, every hidden landmark that could help him navigate the dark wilderness. The faint sound of pursuit—the clatter of armor, the shouts of the guards—gradually faded, but he couldn’t be certain they wouldn’t track him. They would send dogs. They always sent dogs. Gale’s hand drifted to the hilt of the dagger at his belt, his fingers brushing the cold steel. He had no intention of being caught—not alive, at least. His task had been too important, and the consequences too severe. If they found him, if they ever learned what he had stolen from the castle, it would be the end of everything. He pushed on, deeper into the forest, until the sounds of the world around him—wind through the trees, distant owl calls—reduced him to a quiet, solitary figure. He paused only once, allowing himself a single breath, scanning the woods behind him. Nothing. No movement. No sound. It was time to make his way to the rendezvous point. The plan had been simple: slip in, take the artifact, and escape. The details had changed, but the destination remained the same. He was close now. Just a few more miles to the edge of the forest, and then the hidden cave. His contact would be waiting. If all went according to plan, this would be the last time he ever set foot in the castle. Gale’s pulse quickened as the path ahead seemed to darken, the trees growing denser. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched, even though he saw nothing. A chill crawled up his spine, and he tightened his grip on his dagger. Suddenly, a rustling sound broke the stillness. He froze, his muscles tensing, eyes narrowing as he scanned the darkness. The shadows were thick here, and every part of him screamed to keep moving. But the rustling grew louder. Closer. And then, out of the blackness, a figure emerged. Gale’s heart skipped a beat as he recognized the silhouette. "You," he whispered, his voice low but sharp. "I thought you were dead."
