Adele smiled when he didn't sit. Typical Caelan. Ignoring her to make sure she was all right. "No, I'm okay. Really. Oh, Caelan..." She buried her head in his shoulder, recalling all the events in the past day. "I was so scared when I saw Aurora all beat up, and then they announced that you were dead, and then your mother took over and attacked, and then she..." Adele trailed off, wanting to forget the words the evil woman had said to her. But they were still lodged in her heart, still piercing her. 'He's dead. Because of you. You led that boy to his death.' Even with Caelan alive, and holding in his arms, she couldn't forget those words. How had she led him to his death? What even happened? She wanted to ask him, but she couldn't make her mouth form words.

(How's RO going for you?) Adele tried to steady her breathing. 'Calm down, Adele. Caelan's not dead! You should be happy, not crying. What's wrong with you?' Her mind chastised, making her feel worse. She should be happy. Beyond that, she should be helping her people and looking for her parents and brother. Adele breathed in shakily, letting the breath out slowly. A few breaths later, she was somewhat calmer and ready to go. She pulled away from Caelan and said, "Can we look for my parents now?" She knew she sounded like a little kid, but she needed her parents like anyone. Even Caelan. Suddenly Adele felt sorry for him. The only mother he'd ever known was the most evil person Adele had ever met. That must be awful.
