Plot

(WIP)
(Read Gale's info page for details[if needed])
Obviously because of the experience in Iekburgg Gale doesn't trust royalty... However maybe Polar's character (a princess) changes his mind (eventually) seeing him on deaths door the princess and her older brother take him in and treat him until he (in a still quite out of it) state stumbles out only partially conscious...? He doesn't remember much at all but he stays in the kingdom like something in the back of his mind is telling him to stay... a year or so later he's still in the kingdom and presumed dead so the price on his head is gone... One day out in the market in this seemingly prosperous kingdom he sees a vaguely familiar face... she's dressed in simple clothes and is in the market but he recognizes her... he's not entirely sure from where or who she is but he approaches her and we're kinda go from there?

Name

Gale Humendeaus

Name Origin

The name Gale is derived from the Greek word "galeos", which means "a kind of shark" or "a whirlwind". In this context, the name symbolizes strength, power, and a force of nature, reflecting the intensity and resilience of him.Much like the whirlwind or shark it refers to, Gale embodies a sense of unstoppable energy and determination, someone who moves through life with a quiet but undeniable force.

Age

18-25

Gender

Male | He/Him

Sexuallity

Straight

Personality

Gale is a funny yet serious man.If his mind is occupied he will not answer and will seem stressed.Gee,wonder why. He's usually considered the goofball of the group yet,hes quiet. He likes to read aswell.
Gale is an odd blend of contradictions. Often the first to crack a joke or pull a prank, his laughter could light up a room. But the moment his mind turned inward, he became a different person altogether—quiet, distant, and always a bit on edge. When he was stressed, he went silent, lost in his thoughts, and any attempt to pull him out of it was met with an absent stare or a sharp, "Not now."
Despite his playful exterior, he had an insatiable curiosity, particularly when it came to books. Whether it was a weathered novel or an obscure textbook, Gale was always reading something, usually with that intense focus that made him seem miles away, even when he was right next to you. It was like he was two people in one: the carefree goofball, and the quiet, serious man who sometimes carried the weight of the world in his unreadable expression.
His friends knew that when Gale got like this, it was best to leave him be. But it didn’t stop them from occasionally nudging him, trying to make him smile. Most of the time, though, he didn’t bite. He was like that—neither fully in the moment nor fully withdrawn, but somewhere in between, balancing the chaos of his mind with the calm he sought in the pages of a good book.

Apperance

Gale’s appearance was a striking blend of rugged charm and effortless intensity. His hair—always a mix of ashy brown and black—was slightly shaved on the sides, with the top left longer, curling just enough to add texture. Despite the carefree style, there was something deliberate about it, like he didn’t mind standing out, but also wasn’t trying too hard to do so. His ice-cold blue eyes, one with a streak of brown near the iris, were perhaps the first thing people noticed. They were sharp, almost unnerving, and often seemed to be scanning everything around him, absorbing details others might miss.
His tan skin, kissed by the sun from countless hours outdoors, had a warmth to it that contrasted with the chill of his eyes. A dusting of freckles—randomly splattered like drops of paint—gave him a more approachable feel, though it didn’t quite soften the sharpness of his features. His face was angular, with high cheekbones and a chiseled jawline that made him look like someone carved out of stone. His lips, full and often pressed into a thin line when he was deep in thought, were the only hint of warmth in his otherwise stoic expression.
Standing at a towering 6'5", Gale was the kind of person you noticed from across a room, whether he wanted to be or not. His broad shoulders and slight muscular build added to his imposing presence. He wasn’t the type to draw attention with flashy movements, but there was a quiet strength in his every step, a confidence that came with his size and the way he carried himself.
Despite his physicality, there was a certain grace to him, especially when he moved, as though his frame was made for more than just power. His hands, roughened from work and outdoor life, still held a careful precision when he read or handled something delicate. He was strong, but not in a showy way. It was the kind of strength you only noticed when it was necessary—when his towering figure stood in the way of something or when his quiet intensity made itself known, like a storm about to break.

Backstory

Gale’s birthday, December 16th, had always been marked by a chill in the air, a reminder of the coldness that seemed to echo through his life. The harsh winter winds felt fitting, given how his life began. His mother, the one who was supposed to protect him, had abandoned him shortly after birth—he was an unintended child, a mistake in a world that had no place for him.
It was Rosé, a woman whose kindness was as boundless as the winter snow, who took him in. She wasn’t his mother by blood, but she was his mother in every sense that mattered. She gave him the chance to live, to grow, to become something more than the circumstances of his birth. But she could never have known the truth—that Gale’s bloodline was far more complicated than anyone could imagine. His real father was the King of Feinburgg, a powerful ruler who ruled over a vast kingdom.
Gale never knew about his royal heritage. He grew up in the small town of Iekburgg, raised by Rosé, unaware of the bounty that quietly followed him. The county was isolated, enclosed by an electric fence that trapped its residents in a cage they could never escape. A quiet sort of lawlessness ruled within the fence, as if the inhabitants had forgotten the world beyond, resigned to their lives behind the barrier. Gale, always restless, would often sneak out into the nearby woods, hunting for food. It was illegal, yes, but it was survival. He didn’t mind the risk.
One day, after catching a turkey in the woods, he made his way to Cray’s house, as he did often. Cray had been a friend, someone who understood Gale’s need to escape the walls of the county. But when Gale arrived, something was different. A new man had taken residence in Cray’s place, and he was colder, crueler. The stranger didn’t recognize Gale as a friend—only as a threat. Without hesitation, he reported Gale, telling the authorities about the illegal hunting, the trespassing, the bounty.
The punishment was swift and brutal.
Lashes from a whip tore through Gale’s back, the pain blinding, sharp, as his body was forced to endure the agony. He barely survived the ordeal, the pain so overwhelming it pushed him to the brink of death. The scars from that day would remain with him, not just on his skin, but in his heart—a permanent reminder of the cruelty he had endured.
He never returned to Iekburgg after that. The trauma was too much. The place that was once home had become a cage of pain and memories too haunting to face. Now, Gale wandered the land, with only Rosé’s teachings to keep him grounded, the truth about his father—and the bounty on his head—still unknown to him. The king’s blood ran through his veins, but it didn’t matter. Not anymore.

Traits (Good)

  • Resilient: Despite his difficult past and the trauma he's faced, Gale continues to persevere and survive.
  • Strong: Both physically and mentally, he carries the weight of his experiences with quiet strength.
  • Loyal: His bond with Rosé, the woman who took him in, shows his deep loyalty and appreciation for those who care for him.
  • Independent: Gale is used to relying on himself, especially with the bounty on his head and the isolation of his surroundings.
  • Resourceful: Whether hunting in the woods or navigating difficult situations, Gale is skilled at making do with what he has.
  • Protective: While not always openly affectionate, Gale will go to great lengths to protect those he cares about.
  • Determined: Once he sets his mind to something, he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, no matter the cost.
  • Quietly Compassionate: Though often stoic, he has a deep empathy for those who have suffered, given his own struggles.
  • Courageous: Facing danger and uncertainty head-on, Gale doesn’t shy away from difficult situations.

Traits (Bad)

  • Emotionally Guarded: Gale often keeps his feelings to himself, making it difficult for others to truly understand or connect with him.
  • Stubborn: Once he has made up his mind, it’s hard to change his direction, even if it’s not the best choice.
  • Reckless: His desire to survive and his independent nature sometimes lead him to take dangerous risks without fully considering the consequences.
  • Isolated: Gale’s tendency to keep to himself and his reluctance to trust others can lead to loneliness and alienation.
  • Hot-Tempered: Under pressure or when pushed too far, Gale can snap, revealing a more intense, volatile side.
  • Haunted: The trauma from his past weighs heavily on him, often affecting his decisions and clouding his judgment.
  • Defensive: He can be quick to push people away, especially when he feels threatened or vulnerable.
  • Distrustful: Due to his past and the betrayal he’s experienced, Gale finds it hard to trust others, often assuming the worst.
  • Detached: Though capable of caring deeply, Gale can sometimes seem emotionally distant, especially when dealing with his inner struggles.

Extras

  • Complex Relationship with His Past: Gale’s unknown royal heritage and the abandonment by his biological mother leave him with unresolved feelings about who he truly is. His identity is shaped by the love of Rosé, but the secrets about his father linger in the background, creating an inner conflict.

  • Connection to Nature: Gale’s affinity for the outdoors—especially the woods where he hunts—could symbolize his need for freedom and escape. Nature is both a sanctuary and a reminder of his survival instincts, offering him peace away from the suffocating walls of the county.

  • Tactical Mind: Though he’s often seen as a rugged, physical character, Gale has a sharp mind for strategy and survival. He’s quick on his feet and knows how to think several steps ahead, which makes him resourceful in dangerous situations.

  • Scarred by Trauma: The lashing he endured has left physical and emotional scars. His back is marked by the whip’s cruel cuts, and he may still experience flashbacks or moments of panic when triggered by certain sounds or situations. This trauma fuels his distrust and reluctance to return to Iekburgg.

  • Sense of Duty: Despite his detached nature, Gale has a deep sense of responsibility to protect the vulnerable. He might not always show it, but he’ll step up when someone needs help or when a situation calls for him to act, even if it means putting himself at risk.

  • Unspoken Loyalty to Rosé: His bond with Rosé is one of the few things that remains constant in his life. Though he may not always express it, he holds her in high regard, and her sacrifices have shaped the person he is today.

  • Mysterious Aura: Gale carries a sense of mystery around him, both because of his unknown royal lineage and his quiet, reserved nature. He’s often the subject of speculation, but he reveals little about himself, keeping others at a distance.

  • Conflict with Authority: Having faced punishment for survival crimes, Gale harbors a deep resentment toward authority figures, especially those who abuse power. He might often question or defy authority, driven by a need for justice and fairness.

  • Occasional Humor: Despite his serious exterior, Gale can be unexpectedly funny in his dry, sarcastic way. His sense of humor often catches people off guard, offering brief moments of levity in his otherwise intense life.

  • Inner Struggle with Identity: Having been abandoned by his mother and unaware of his royal lineage, Gale’s internal battle over his identity plays a major role in his emotional life. He might wonder whether he's destined for greatness, or if he’s just a product of circumstances beyond his control.

Adeline Finch

Since she was young it's been her and her brother in the Avian Kingdom (hence the bird last name)... Her brother was made king at the age of 17 when she herself was only 15. They are both kind-hearted people unlike the majority of the other kings and queens, they're also fairly simple people. They don't go for much finery and are often in fairly simple clothing and they always do the best possible for their kingdom. Now 3 years later the two of them are still doing their best for their kingdom that they can... but the two of them can only do so much for so long. Some hard choices have to be made for the good of the kingdom... and Adeline is the at the brunt of those choices.

Age: 18

Gender: She/her

Sexuality: Bisexual (Prefrence toward men.)

Personality:

Adeline is kind hearted, giving, well spoken and loved by her kingdom but can be stubborn as the most stubborn mule in the kingdom... She's a resiliant little spitfire and is always more likely to put her brother and her kingdom first however... when/if she finds something she wants she will fight like hell to keep it especially because she asks for so little. Now that isn't to say she's always aware of the consequences of her getting what she wants... Despite being 18 she has yet to fully understand that in the grand scheme of things (her brother doesn't think this way obviously) what she wants ultimately doesn't matter as much. Its what she can give that matters the most especially being in a kingdom.

Appearance: Copper colored hair that goes down to about midway down her back (If its down. Usually she wears a crown braid or some kind of other braid or ponytail.) somewhat curvy but still fairly lithe body-type, beautiful green eyes and about 4'7 height wise. (I'm still feeling out her character so anything further will likely be revealed in rp.)

(we starting where hes hunting or..?)
The sky was still dark, the faintest hint of dawn creeping over the horizon as Gale silently moved through the underbrush, his boots barely making a sound. His breath came out in a quiet mist, blending with the cool morning air. The electric fence loomed ahead, a cold, humming barrier keeping the inhabitants of Iekburgg locked in. But Gale wasn’t one to follow rules that didn’t make sense, and this fence was nothing more than a challenge.
He crouched low beside a stack of hunting bags and gear hidden in the thicket just outside his small cabin. His hand gripped the leather straps of his worn hunting bag, the weight of the bow in his other hand a familiar comfort. The bow’s string had been taut for days, ready for the hunt. He quickly tied the bag over his shoulder, securing his knives and a few essentials inside, before slipping his bow into place across his back.
Gale moved swiftly, the shadows still clinging to him, and reached for the small hole he’d worn under the fence over the years. The gap was narrow, just wide enough for him to slip through if he was careful. He crouched down, his muscles tensing as he prepared to slip under the electric wire. His eyes scanned the area—silent, cautious, and well aware of the risk. He could hear the low hum of the fence’s current, a constant reminder of what would happen if he made one wrong move.
With a quick glance to ensure no one was watching, Gale knelt and pushed himself forward, feeling the cold grass against his skin as he slid under the wire. His heart pounded in his chest, the thrill of breaking free from the confining fence adding a rush of adrenaline.
Once he was through, he stood up, brushing dirt and grass off his clothes. He paused for a moment, eyes lingering on the fence that held him back from the world. But there was no time to linger. The woods were calling, and with his bow in hand and his mind focused on the hunt, Gale moved swiftly toward the tree line, disappearing into the shadows of the forest.

Adeline approached one of the vendors admiring some nice fabrics they had on display "Beautiful aren't they?" The merchant purred at her "Beautiful..." She replied "Especially this purple one..." She said gently rubbing her thumb on it. "It suits you milady... and it matches the flowers in your hair." He told her indicating the tiny purple buds that adorned the crown braid in her hair "Well thank you..." She said happily dipping her head to him "But I think I'm alright on fabrics for the moment." She told him before handing him some coins "Give it to someone who needs it more." She told him "Consider it my treat." She smiled before she headed off stopping at another vendor.

The smell nearby was heavenly and made her stomach growl... the baker was certainly cooking up something delectible... it was hard to discern what smelled the best... the cinnamon? Chocolate? It was all so good! She thought as some birds flew overhead singing their pretty little songs.

(if i respond quick its bc ive typed out my next, what, two or three(?) post)
Gale moved swiftly through the forest, the weight of the freshly caught buck across his back. His boots made little sound on the earth as he navigated the underbrush, the quiet of the woods filling his ears. The hunt had been efficient, swift, and now he was focused on getting back to Cray. He couldn’t help but feel a bit of urgency as he moved; Cray had been struggling lately, unable to hunt for himself, and Gale had promised he would bring back something to help.

Despite the troubles between them, despite the way things had soured recently, Gale never let Cray go hungry. Their bond, forged in the fire of shared memories, had always been about more than just survival—it was about something deeper. And Cray needed this. Gale needed to keep that part of himself intact, the part that still believed in loyalty, in friendship, even if it seemed to be a rare commodity in a world that had taught him to trust no one.

He had already bagged the first buck and field-dressed it, efficiently slicing through the animal’s flesh with the practiced movements of someone who had been hunting since he was old enough to carry a blade. His hands were slick with blood, but he didn’t mind. It was the way things were, the price of survival. The buck’s meat was packed neatly into his hunting bag, ready to be shared with the person who had once been his closest friend.

After making sure the first buck was properly packed, Gale set off in search of more game, moving toward the creek, where the scent of water often drew the wildlife close. The forest was alive, but still quiet—an eerie kind of silence that made every rustle of leaves or crack of twigs stand out in sharp contrast. The air was cool, the sun barely cresting over the horizon, casting long shadows on the forest floor.

The creek wasn’t far, and it didn’t take long for Gale to spot another deer. This one was smaller than the first, a doe grazing by the water's edge, unaware of the predator approaching. Gale crouched low, his heart rate steady, every movement calculated. He was a shadow in the trees, his bow already nocked with an arrow, ready to fly.

With each step, he grew closer, until the doe finally lifted her head, sensing something was amiss. But it was too late. Gale released the string of his bow, the arrow flying through the air with the precision of someone who had spent years perfecting the craft. The arrow hit its mark, piercing the doe’s side with a clean shot. The animal gave a sharp bleat and staggered a few steps before collapsing to the ground.

Gale wasted no time, moving quickly to retrieve the animal, his mind already calculating how he would carry both pieces of meat back. It wasn’t much of a challenge to field-dress the doe, and soon the second catch was packed and ready to be carried.

The process was familiar, but today there was a different weight on Gale’s shoulders. He could feel the tension building in his chest as he prepared to head back, the promise he’d made to Cray hanging in the air. Despite everything, despite how things had changed between them, Gale was determined to keep his word. Cray was his friend, and that still meant something to him.

The trip back toward the fence line was slow, the weight of the bags and the meat dragging him down, but Gale didn’t mind. His pace remained steady, purposeful. The electric fence loomed ahead, its hum faintly audible in the distance.

He approached the small gap in the fence he had made over the years, a hole just wide enough for him to squeeze through. Gale’s eyes flicked over the area—no sign of patrols. With a glance toward the woods behind him, he dropped to his knees, slipping the bags through first, careful not to make too much noise. Once the meat was safely on the other side, he followed, crawling through the hole with the grace of someone who had done it countless times before.

He emerged on the other side, brushing dirt from his clothes, and for a moment, stood still, breathing in the cool morning air. The quiet weight of his actions pressed on him. The fence was a boundary, a cage that separated him from the world beyond, but it also separated him from Cray, and that’s what mattered now.

With the meat secured, Gale turned his back on the fence, his feet carrying him toward the small cabin that had been his home for as long as he could remember. He would drop off the food, check in on Cray, and then slip back into the woods, continuing his strange existence between the boundaries of freedom and captivity. The electric fence had always been a reminder of the world he couldn’t quite escape, but for now, it was the place that kept him connected to the few people who mattered.

He reached the cabin and knocked on the door quietly, not wanting to startle Cray. The small sliver of the world outside that had been his, and that, for just a moment, felt like home.

(Gotcha no worries!)

After an irresistible stop in the bakery Adeline decided to find a spot to read... she walked through the stone buildings and small stands that seemed odd against the big stone buildings the placid gray faces behind the youthful colors in the stands. After deciding that the fountain in the center of the town was too crowded she decided to go to one of her most favorite secluded spots. A secluded little tent-like pine tree, a place she'd been coming to since she was little for one reason or another. She crawled underneath the little spot and rested her back against the tree diving right into her book.

Gale had just dropped the meat off at Cray’s house, his heart light for a moment knowing his friend wouldn’t go hungry. He wasn’t expecting anything to be different today. But as he turned to leave, the door opened.
A man Gale didn’t recognize stepped out. He was tall, with a cold, calculating look in his eyes—nothing like Cray’s usual easygoing demeanor.
“Who are you?” Gale asked, instinctively stepping back.
“I’m the new keeper here,” the man said, his voice gruff and dismissive. “Cray’s out for the day. What’s your business?”
Gale didn’t like the way the man was looking at him. It wasn’t friendly. But before Gale could respond, the man’s eyes narrowed as if he’d made up his mind. “You’re the one causing trouble, aren’t you?”
The new man reached for a whistle at his belt, blowing a sharp, shrill sound that echoed through the trees. Gale froze, realizing the situation was quickly spiraling out of his control.
“You’ve been trespassing, hunting illegally,” the man said, voice cold. “That’s a punishable offense.”
Gale’s pulse quickened as the sound of footsteps approached. He took a step back, but it was too late. The authorities, alerted by the whistle, emerged from the woods, surrounding him. Gale’s heart raced as they moved to restrain him.
“Stop!” Gale snapped, his tone filled with rising anger, but the new man stepped forward, his hand landing on Gale’s shoulder with a force that made his skin crawl. “No more games, boy. You’re coming with us.”
The next few minutes blurred into a mess of harsh orders and painful grips, the weight of the situation crashing down on him. Gale tried to fight it, but there were too many, too strong. His world narrowed to the cold, sharp sting of the iron cuffs around his wrists.
He was dragged through the dirt, each step heavy with the humiliation of it. He cast one last, desperate glance toward the cabin, hoping Cray would come back in time to stop it, but the sound of the authorities’ voices drowned out all hope.
The road ahead felt long, and for the first time in a while, Gale wasn’t sure where it would lead.

Adeline had just settled down when she heard shouting closeby... she stood tucking her book into the tree behind her and heading toward the sound... she saw a women standing in the men's path "What on earth are you doing!? Why are you handling that poor lad so roughly?!" She shouted "King Andre will have your heads for-" she broke off as she was shoved aside... she narrowed her eyes ready to object again but her husband rushed to her side putting a hand on her shoulder to stop her from saying more.

"He's nobody to care for,a criminal who's lacks the skill of hiding." The man replied, pushing his way through. "This young man is a nobody. He belongs in prison for the rest of his life. And that is that." He snarled over his shoulder. "I am somebody! You call survival a crime?!" Gale exclaimed, burning with rage.In response he was thwacked on the head, him wincing and keeping his head down.
"That's what I thought." One of the guards said, continuing to walk along.
The journey to the authorities’ headquarters was a blur of rough hands, harsh words, and the cold bite of the air. Gale’s wrists ached from the cuffs, and every step felt like a weight pressing down on him, dragging him further from the only home he’d ever known. His thoughts were scattered, half-focused on the pain, half on the betrayal of it all.
The new man, who had introduced himself as a "keeper," walked ahead, his back stiff, eyes always scanning the horizon as if expecting something. Gale caught glimpses of his expression when their paths crossed—hunger, maybe? Or a quiet satisfaction. Whatever it was, it didn’t sit right with him.
As they reached the small, makeshift prison on the outskirts of Iekburgg, Gale was pushed into a cold stone cell. The door slammed shut behind him with a finality that made his chest tighten.
He paced back and forth, mind racing. He hadn’t done anything wrong—he’d been hunting, yes, but for survival. There were no laws out in the woods, just the constant fight to keep going, to live. Yet here he was, caught in a system that didn’t care about his reasons, only the crime they could slap on him.
Through the barred window of his cell, Gale could see the faint outline of the electric fence that bordered the county. It seemed so far away, even though he knew it was just a stone’s throw from the prison. He could almost hear the hum of it now, an eerie reminder of the boundaries that kept him trapped.
As he sank down onto the cold stone floor, he couldn't shake the thought of Cray. He should have warned him, should have told him what had happened before he left. What if Cray thought he abandoned him? The thought gnawed at him, but it was the silence that followed that scared him more.
Gale leaned back against the wall, trying to push thoughts of the outside world away. But the truth was, he was stuck. His only option now was to wait, to see what the authorities had planned for him.
