Loreleis father led them into the house and to the living room, sitting in his chair and gesturing for them to sit on the couch. "Why are you still with my daughter?" Her father growled at Kai.

Kai, terrified, let go of Lorelei's hand nervously. "W-with all due respect, sir, I always have l-loved your daughter and I plan on loving her until the end of my days and even then waiting for h-her to come back to me in heaven." He stammered, worried he might die if he said the wrong words. "I hurt your daughter more than I can ever fogive myself for, but I'm working my absolute hardest to be the man she deserves, but even then I don't believe I will be enough...um, sir."

Loreleis father stared at him, unblinking. "Why did you leave her in the first place?"

"I was...drunk...and not thinking straight..." Kai admitted shakily
| |

"Why were you drinking around my daughter?" He question, even angrier now.

"I...don't know...She was asleep and I just got carried away..." Kai admitted, his voice breaking a bit and his hands in his lap. His eyes dropped to the ground, scared of th angry man in front of him

"That is no excuse!" He yelled at him.

Kai shrunk back, scared. "Y-yes, sir" He said, getting up and walking quickly to his car. He climbed into the front seat, crying
| |

Lorelei watched him, worried. "Dad, why would you do that?!" She yelled at him, running after Kai.
