I was HORRIFIED of shots when I was a kid. Like, crying, shaking, stressed, pacing, and overall a wreck. Never once did they ever mention doing that to me. Orally or otherwise

I doubt they would even prescribe something to take orally.

That's really a doctor question, but probably not unless it's for life saving measures. Might just give the kid a chill pill like trazadone or something before the appointment
Hummingbird Meadows

@Star, I don't think they would ever do that. Sedation is typically given with an IV anyways.

If you're not planning on breeding him, then gelding would be best for his training

Hey guys I have a question; Is it legal for a doctor to sedate a child under 18 with parental consent so that the child can take a shot?

So my question is if I don’t plan on using him for breeding because of the P should I just geld him?

He's getting more confident out there though. He gets excited about chasing the bugs.

@Artic, the sun set so it was cool enough for us to go out for 30 minutes. It was getting dark so I picked him up and brought him inside.

This post is regarding my geldings in HEE, not my gelding in real life haha

I am feeling extremely frustrated about how little profit my show geldings are making me. I put well over 400k into buying barns, show geldings, etc so that I could eventually make more ebs to improve my breeding program. However, my geldings are making a MAXIMUM of 10k each day that they show. I don't know how to enter them by hand - even after reading multiple guides, they make hardly profit when I do that. I sold a horse for 800k prior to buying all of the geldings and am now at 140k. I have around 140 geldings. Am I doing something wrong? I am feeling so disheartened and frustrated because I don't understand how to 'move up' in the game and breed better horses if i can't figure out any way to make profit.

Hi, we have all known this pain.
Firstly change all your riders to 'all disciplines', so they go up slower and have time to gain best possible number of shows.
Second you have to run the level up report and ensure you reassign horses to go up to a higher level rider asap.
Third, I would use the barn manager. She only costs 3,000 per month. She will reassign your horses for you if you select that option and save you a lot of time. It is best if you log in every day and run the level up report + manualy reassign every horse that needs it / or click the barn manager to do it.
Setting the horses with the barn manager may take a while, but once done she will enter all the ones to go each day automatically.
Do ensure you click 'only show if competative' at the bottom of the barn manager screen.

Once she has entered your horses for a couple of months you may be clever enough to dispense with her. But actually I find her cheap and invaluable.
Best of luck

P.S. Have a look at Cloud Peak, they are a cool showing barn consistently making high profits.
P.P.S. Mares make as much money as geldings. If you have a mare you are fond of just show her and indicate in her name that she is no longer to be bred. Don't bother with the cycle suppressant, a pain to upkeep and not worth the money.
