Pretty big yeah, I think maybe 70-75lbs in his prime? Might be wrong. He's the best boy and been with me for most my life which is what's making this so hard. I know I need to let him go. His cancer is creeping back and I know it's kinder to do it soon.

16 year old for large dog is extremely well.

Ok, I just know when my dogs back legs weren't strong enough using a towel as a sling under them can work. Thats only if they can use their front to help :( I would contact the fire department if you have nobody to help.

When I lifted him both his rear legs went stick straight and his rear paws went on their toes. I'm wondering if it's the way I picked him up but he's a relatively big dog to be trying to pick up and stand on my own

What about a towel do help the back legs if his front are working okay

@Blue, it is a blessing to let them leave while happy instead of waiting until they are miserable. It doesn't make it easier, but not letting them know pain is the best gift you can give them.

He perked up when I opened the back door for the other dogs to go outside and tried to help him stand but I'm not strong enough and his back legs got stiff. It makes me so mad that internally he's not ready to leave but his legs don't give me much choice. Hes so happy still

My neighbors on the left and right are seniors, and across the way are on vacation so I'm screwed in all ways possible. I'm halfway wondering if the fire department could help. It pisses me off so much, his body so working insanely well for being 16, but his hind legs just won't work.

Currently the nearest vet open is an hour out and I can't get him up, much less safely into the car on my own.

Y'all, I have no idea what to improve on. Because I wanna improve everywhere. So I can't pick just one thing to focus on. I also am SO stuck between styles I want. Should I stick my more painty style, is that what y'all like? It's fun being more painty, but I absolutely love sharper styles that look a bit more "natrual" I guess, its just so pleasing to the eyes.

I'll post my gallery below so y'all can see my recents lately. I definitely need help/tips on eyes. They kill me to do. Be as harsh as you need, because that's the only way imma learn anything. Besides, Ari's a bitch I can take it :')

Critique me, everywhere.

This isn't much of a 'critique', but your style is amazing, especially the hair! You've definitely improved from when I bought art from you some moons ago.

I really love your horse anatomy, it's really spot on! The only thing I have to critique is the hair, if you are going for realistic that will have to be an area to work on(looks kinds like vines more than hair). As I notice you do some semi-realistic which looks good, but my attention get caught on the hair that doesn't quite look right. You've done a couple really nice ones!

I'm not a HEE artist but something i've learned from drawing is your style is CONSTANTLY changing... you're trying new things (even without knowing it) each time you draw anything... look at your drawings and figure out what YOU like about them... make notes of what you like and what you want to change up your drawings are beautiful but your style is your own and its constantly changing you do something a bit different each time you draw lol... do what you like and figure out what you don't like if you have 2 ways you like to draw horses figure out what you like or don't like about the styles you use and see what you come up with by combining what you like from the two styles. Your art is really really beautiful though :) I looked at your gallery and its stunning :3

I love more painted type looks. I don't like sharp art but also not super smudgy. I like softness. I prefer your current style to the style you practiced with your latest premade. As an artist though I'm constantly trying different things trying to work out my own techniques

This. All of it. 100%. Thanks Hollow for writing it out so I didnt have too 😂.
No, part of the reason I love your art so much is your style, your unique touch! Sure, if you arent enjoying, that's ok too, it's your art so try something new! <3 Every time I see a piece of art done by you, I 100% know it's you without looking at credits! Personally, as an artist myself, that's what I strive for, uniqueness of "my" style. And you have literally done it perfectly!
.
Some points I notice on your current style (so not the new one)
- the eyes, I only noticed them becuase you pointed them out on your post, and I LOVE eyes, I feel like they draw the entire piece together and I also love the way I do eyes. So, if you'd like, just pm me, and I can give you a "tutorial" so to speak, and you can help me becuase I've been wanting to plan one for a while, but you could help me test it out :D if you wanted to of course.
- I mean, I really dont have much other critique, on your very last piece, the shadows on the horse (near shoulder, ears, belly) were very unnecessarily sharp and contrasting so I would smudge them down or blur them down a bit
- also, on white markings (need to do a tutorial for them too so pm me!) I think if you copied them on another layer and take a rough watercolor eraser around the edges at a low opacity, it might help making them look more realistic
.
:D Your awesome Ari!!

Honestly I really love your style of hair and like what Hollow and Tranquility have both said that the painted look is awesome and is what makes your art unique. I also prefer your current style rather then the last piece you practised but everyone is different so others might like that style more. Not really much I can think to critique cause I'm not that great at doing that haha.
