this is my favourite retail story of mine.

a customer came in after closing - Mon-Fri the deli closes at 8pm while the rest of the store closes at 9pm - and demands food. the deli was visibly closed, too. the lights were off and all the stuff in the case was covered in plastic, the seafood was put away, there were SIGNS UP ON THE DAMN CASE saying "we are closed go away".

I politely tell this lady that we're closed and she proceeds to argue with me. I was at the end of a 9 hour shift and was beyond exhausted at that point, so I had little patience for her nonsense. we argued for about 5 minutes before she goes "how will you compensate me for this inconvenience" and I very loudly said "we won't! we're closed! it sucks to suck!"

she goes to the manager on duty who's one of my closest friends to complain, and he goes "well... they *are* closed. it *does* suck to suck."

Have to chime in here, I worked for CVS. Had a drunk guy come in around closing, go to the restroom, and come out naked. Yep, as the day he was born. He said he thought he was home and going to take a shower.

I don't even have a degree. I got 'lucky' and got my foot in the door, but then the family friend who got me in retired and we also had a new director come in, and that's when it got really really bad.

Gosh im glad im not customer facing haha. When I worked at a riding school I had a kid refuse to ride a pony because it was the wrong colour once- that didn't go down well funnily enough haha

Oh, I got the cops called on me because one of the mentally disabled got mad I told her she couldn't check out the stack of 20 DVDs she had (only 3) and she started screaming that I stole her wallet. Almost forgot about that one!

Boss writing me up for fear mongering when I told coworkers the doctor told me I most likely had covid but I didn't qualify for a test early 2020 when that all kicked off (she told me I just had a bad sinus infection. I got further in trouble after I asked her when and where she got her medical degree?)

I no longer work at a library. lol. Now I go sling boxes at Amazon where I have no customer/patron interaction.

Worst incident I remember? We had to start locking the public restrooms. Someone decided to smear waste matter all over the bathroom... Not once. Not twice... but on three separate occasions. Grown ass adults too.

I recently started an art shop on HEE, can someone please give me some tips on keeping image quality while staying with in the 100K file size for horse avatars, all my pieces seem considerably pixelated :/

There are a few things you can do to help. One is make sure you do a good job on cutting out a horse. The second is work on smaller canvas size, so really if it's only for a horse avatar, work on canvases around 1000x1000-1500. Another thing is to save images as Jpgs because while the image quality is like tenths less good, the fe sizes are smaller and easier to compress

I agree with Tasi! A good cut out of the horse etc. Many artists do it different ways, I personally work on 2500x2000 and make the horse smaller on the image, I then resize 500x500 on my app (ibisPaintX), and sharpen up the whole image (its a filter on the app I use) then go online to a compressor (there is a few I use)

so this one for example, this is a 2500x2000 canvas, as you can see the horse doesn't take up the whole image.

After I've made the horse on the 500x500, I use the sharpener tool, run it through a compressor and this is what I have:

again, it's all trial and error at what works for you, but if that doesn't make ANY sense please PM me LOL

Edit: I also do this even for just horse Avi pieces, but that's what works for me

If you're working with Photoshop, you should use the File -> Export -> Save for web (Legacy) option to save your images. It gives you a menu where you can customize what file size you want and allows you a few tweaks with the quality.

I do a similar thing to Zomb.

Depending on what I'm working on I multiply the image size by 3

For example if I'm doing a stable banner the normal size is 669 x 150 but I will work on 2007 x 450 and then resize it later on and export that size.
