Snow,

Ohhh fair! I prefer not to be able to touch if I’m swimming in a lake since the bottom is usually kinda gross.

I was hoping to see/hear more birds than I did but I still observed a common loon and a red-breasted nuthatch, that brings my species total in the U.S. for the year up to 91 species!

This month we are doing something fun and different for our charitable donations.

We "adopted" (financially supported) two endangered animals.

The first is a Red Wolf named Max. He lives at the Wolf Conservation Center. They are breeding a few species of wolves to attempt to release back into the wild. https://nywolf.org/ Red Wolves are native to the Southeastern United States and are on the Critically Endangered list.

You can read about Max here: https://nywolf.org/ssp/red-wolves

The second animal we adopted is a Sun Bear named Boboi!

He lives at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. They do great work rehabilitating Sun Bears for release back into the wild.

http://www.bsbcc.org.my/

And here is Boboi: http://www.bsbcc.org.my/boboi.html
What a cutie pie!
We will receive Newletters about them every few months, and it will be posted here.

Today we received a packet from Wolf Conservation Center!

https://i.postimg.cc/YSGPPPL1/20190311-185513-resized.jpg

They sent us an absolutely gorgeous 2019 Wolf Calendar with high quality photos. (top) And "Adoption Certificate" for Max. (bottom)

https://i.postimg.cc/L8ff0B6J/20190311-185518-resized.jpg

Also, a glossy photo of Max and a description. And some other stuff not listed.

---------------------

Also, they have a 24x7 live webcam of Max's family enclosure and you can see the wolves!

https://nywolf.org/webcams/webcam-red-wolf-f1568

Did you know there are only 24 known Red Wolves left in the wild? And only a handful breeding population in captivity?

So we feel really honored to help support keep this species alive and hopefully one day improve wild populations.

Today I received a package from the Sun Bear Conservation Centre!

All the way from Borneo! Which I thought was cool as I've never received a package from so far away before.

The stamps on the package.

Inside was a lovely Sun Bear plushie! And also the adoption certificate and glossy photos that I have already posted, and some other things.
It was pretty cool to receive this.

The plushie sits on my desk now. ;)
