Harlow quickly moved to the Forecastle deck for a better view of the other vessel. He couldn't help but think about his commands. Maybe he was being a bit too confident? He's been in multiple fights such as this one before, so why begin to doubt this one? Eventually Harlow's ship was in close proximity with the enemy vessel which he quickly walked back to the Quarter deck before seeing Alice. He looked at the speed his boat was going and thought that there was no time for telling his second mate, so he moved to his second option. He inhaled and called out, voice dominating the area more than the women's, "Slow down! And fire!" After the announcement he could feel the drag and pull of the ship causing him to nearly fall over, which would've been rather unprofessional during this time. He cleared his throat and headed to the Navigator; a man with a unkempt beard of gray and black with a hardened expression and a muscular build. "Line the ship up." He said, but the man huffed and nodded, "I've been dealing with you for enough time to know the drill Captain, now get." His voice was gravelly and rough, allowing his age to break through easier. Harlow let out a light chuckle before moving away. Eventually the loud bang rang throughout the air as the first cannon was ignited and set off. The sound was familiar and distinguishable from any other loud sound, giving a almost nostalgic feel.. |

Sage watched the other ship move towards them, frowning slightly as it altered its course to turn and line the ships up. So there would be a fight....it didn't look like they'd be avoiding it now. He huffed out a breath and moved to stand by the end of the railing, effortlessly loading a pistol as he watched the other ship even out, the familiar weight of his blade on his hip slightly comforting. He couldn't say he wasn't a little bit excited though ....life was sometimes rather boring on a ship, and the way a good fight got his adrenaline pumping and the blood running through his veins was a feeling he enjoyed. Probably more than he should. Whatever. He scowled when the first cannon went off, shouting back at his own crew to fire at will, running back up to the steering wheel and taking his place next to the man at the helm, aiming strategically at the enemy's important people. He was looking for the captain, only finding him after a minute. His pistol was empty by then, so he drew his dagger, moving down again to block the entrance to the part of the ship with the man at the helm, the steering parts, and the entrance to the hold where all their supplies were kept. He'd keep them safe....anyone wanting to get to anything important, they'd have to get through him. And he wouldn't go down easy. |

(I have figured out that fight scenes aren't exactly my thing XD ) . Harlow's head began pounding as the cannons and firing guns from both parties rang throughout the air, already some of his men were injured, but not enough where they had to be drawn from the battle. He huffed when he grabbed a gun for himself; a musket, one of his favorites due to the range and accuracy it provided. The blonde kicked over a few large barrels to hide behind as he loaded his weapon. He quickly poured and packed the gunpowder and loaded a handful of pellets, or bullets before emerging again. Eyes distant and calculating as he fired while moving ever so slowly towards the railing of his ship. So far Harlow has only inflicted minor injuries to the enemies, only hitting shoulders and legs, causing a slight drawback of firing. Perfect. With the vessels close proximity it allowed another step to the plan to make way. "Planks now! We cross!" Harlow shrieked eyes blazing now as his men lower multiple planks, some already running over as the wooden temporary platforms wobbled underneath their weight. Harlow eventually rushed over as well, drawing his sword as he moved. As soon as he set foot upon the rival vessel he quickly became heavy and a prime target as a enemy crewmember came straight for him. Now, a thing to note is that Harlow was thin and light, so some to any harsh impact will most likely have a equally as dramatic of an impact on the blonde haired man... which exactly happened. The enemy had a running start before ramming into Harlow, causing him to almost fall over, nearly catching himself, until a familiar pain spread from his shoulder and across his torso. He winced before turning quickly, clashing with the other, their swords violently scraping and moving with partial accuracy until the man was no more than a lifeless corpse that layed at his feet. Deep down Harlow had never understood the unnecessary violence of a pirate's life. It made him sick to his stomach every time he committed such a terrible act to another conscious being. But he brushed the feelings off allowed the chaotic noise of the battle fill his ears and drown those thoughts with blood. "Watch out!" A voice called before a figure slashed at another, the body slumping before it collapsed. Alice, her delicate features now drenched in blood that wasn't hers as well. "Up by the supplies Har- Captain!" She said correcting herself before moving away. He moved past a few bodies, some swinging at him while others moved away, occupied. But eventually, Harlow saw the other captain. All Harlow noted was that this man looked... rough, and not in a condition manner, no, he looked rough as in, he fought with many others.. "Seize your crew." Harlow said slowly and softly, maintaining some composure while also analyzing and attempting to stop the fighting early. |

(lol, we all have our weaknesses in these things) Sage had noticed the other captain yell something, his sensitive hearing picking up on a few of the words, but the cannons admittedly make hearing hard for anyone, even with special nymph senses. He could see them readying the planks to cross though, so he yelled to his own crew to prepare. "Let them board, cut them down as they come across one at a time," he instructed. It was a battle tactic that worked more than it didn't....in fact, it hadn't failed them yet. Let them on the planks...they were off balance and could only cross one at a time, giving sages men quite a few advantages. Plus it would bring the battle to their home turf. There were some dangers to it, of course, but it hadn't let them down yet. In fact, he could see that his men had gotten a good number of the other crew already. He watched as the other captain boarded, sort of cutting down a few men who dared come near him as he waited for the other man. He would come, and a grin grew on his face as he saw him move towards him. He did note the girl that pointed him out to her captain...she was clearly important. He called out to a group of men nearby and gestures to her, sending them off to target her specifically as the rival captains made his way down to him. He sort of leaned against the railing casually, watching him approach. Waiting. His dagger was drawn but not really in a fighting position. He could get to one in plenty of time, and a facade of confidence did wonders to drop the others'. When the other captain finally spoke, he just chuckled softly, a grin spreading across his face. "Seize my crew? If I did that, what fun would we get to have," he mused, as if they were simply playing a game. In a way, that's what war was. You had to outsmart, outmaneuver your opponent. Trick them. "I'm afraid you've lost plenty more men than I," he added, standing up then and moving a few steps towards the other captain. He was tall....bigger than sage, though he was well used to that. It didn't phase him much. He knew the dangers of a fight, of course....but he did enjoy the rush of adrenaline that came with a good fight. "Don't make me bored, captain," he added, readying his weapon then, phrasing it as sort of warning. |

Harlow's eye twitched at the other captains words; angry and currently in slight pain from the scuffle a few moments before. He winced a bit once her realized that the other might've been right. What if he had lost more men the he really thought? Would most of them survive? What about Alice? Is she alright? So many questions suddenly flooded his mind, causing him to become distracted and not as eager to fight the rival captain. At this point, he would rather surrender and hope that they both would agree that nothing happened... Until a stark realization smacked Harlow's head harshly. This could also be a trick. Harlow has heard many and heard from other's about mind tricks to get under your enemy's skin and head, lower their guard, or in this case, make them distracted to have a advantage, although, he grew rather uncomfortable once Sage took a few steps closer, inviting his large bubble of space, causing him to cringe. Eventually Harlow had enough of the mind games and warnings before charging fourth, swiping the other man with his sword, eyes focused with attempting to slash the man, not to kill, but to wound and force into obeying his original command to seize his crew, or whatever was left of it if he truly believed them. |
