So i have used plenty of maps for capturing horses and i always thought it helped get you higer rated horses but now, i'm not so sure. i have gotten several s's and a's from maps and only few were ppp and up. What are they supposed to do?

They can increase your chance for capturing a higher rated horse by increasing a horse's stats. A pirate map increases a horse's stats by +10 and a sherpa map increases by +15.

No one knows what stat trait numbers are needed for each rating. But theoretically, let's say the horse you capture is a SSS. A sherpa map may bump that horse to a PPP. If you capture an EEE, a map might be enough to bump it up to a WWW.

It's all a matter of chance based upon the horse you capture. The maps just put a little weight in your favor. :)
