Returning from a break so I'm clearing out my barns (SH/AA/ISH) for a fresh start on some new projects

15+ EEE rated horses under $4K. Plenty of pretty colors & patterns, most mares spit EEE foals, stallions from bloodlines I've been buliding up & some 1:1- 1:25 rated ones for the color collectors

Great for refreshing/starting new lines, barn filler, or just a couple of good horses for new players

Ok, so my BM is bringing in less money since I switched from SD to AD. I have a ton of level 10 horses I don't know what to do with, and I dont know how to have a steady string without a bunch of horses leveling or aging out all the time. I want to fix my string to get back to making profit but i dont even know where to start. Help please! Do I go back to SD?
Do I even keep horses that are at level 10 in one discipline? Should I be reassigning my horses regularly in the BM, and/or training my riders?

I was, but I felt I could do better so I switched to AD as I was advised, but this seems to be going worse- not sure if its a problem with my horses or what

Im no expert. But maybe you could keep going with your SD for those horses with ratings that are very low in others and high in others. If they level up too quickly maybe be constantly breeding in new SD's and training them up to level 3-4 when they become profitable to cycle in whenever some level up? Then you could also have those who are solid in all ratings in AD showing? And these grops could possibly be seperated. As I said im not an expert just an idea.

In my experience the BM does better with SD horses than with AD horses. It was easiest for me to just do the SD ones so I didn't have to worry with making them show in all three of the disciplines with the BM and then show the AD ones by hand.
With my SD horses I set them free when they hit level 10 in their discipline, unless they have a second discipline that has premium or elite rating, then I switch them to the second discipline until they hit level 10 there before freeing them.
With my AD horses I show them until they hit level 10 in all three disciplines and then free them

I second this.
My BM does best with SD horses only, because she will show the horses "in the green" 3 times a week - while AD hardly ever show in all 3 disciplines every week. So there is a lot more hand work to do with managed AD horses.
Additionally I ´d advise to keep S or P horses for the show string, as E and WC level up way too fast. Often they have only 3 shows in the money before they level up, and they are SM at 11-12yo.
Besides, I always show my SD schoolmasters in their second discipline. Best combo here is XC and J as they share 2 strong traits.

Breeding stock is always AD, but for the show string I personally prefer SD.
