For context, for nearly 2 years I have kept 200 broods and have successfully brood them all out before the end of the month. This might seem impossible but I assure you it isn't. In fact, it's been relatively easy. I continuously reduce the price throughout the month. A lot of my yearly profit is made from these girls. However, I have noticed a huge difference the past two months. I struggled until last minute to brood all my girls the month before last. Last month I still had dozens of girls left unbred. I suspect it has something to do with the adjustments to the ratings. Though, for last month in particular i'm sure capture party was a factor. This month my mares are at an all time low of 2k at the beginning of the month and are still not being used like I had hoped. I promote them multiple times a day, every single day. No luck. My EWE girls are all used almost immediately. My struggle lies with only the EEE girls. So, with that being said are EEE broodmares even worth keeping? Should I cull my herd? Have you experienced any changes?

The only reason I use EEEs is for my wild bay lines, I don't have much use for them anyways. I use my own girls primarily for color quests.

I'd say cull the ones that won't serve color quests or color breeding and see how that goes. Also agree with Capp that if it's a PPP color quest, I go hunting for broods. I think that there are a lot more WEE mares available nowadays!

I keep a lot of EEE mares, but I primarily use them for testing freshies, adding colour to my lines, and throwing in pastures to generate pretty show horses with some colorful EEE+ studs.
