Please be kind in your comments or simply don't comment.

Where am I going wrong with my art? I have seen improvements but I still don't feel like the art is any good. I don't really know what to say, just feeling very lost with it. I guess that I am seeking some general advice with some critique. This isn't a topic where I "crave attention", I am a human being who genuinely feels lost. Another thing is not really getting bids, I try to keep my SB reasonable but it still doesn't seem good enough.

Here are some recent pieces, some are sold whilst others aren't

Thank you to those who take time to comment <3

Hi!!
I really do think your art is wonderful. You absolutely have improved and you're doing amazing at developing a consistent style. My biggest tip would be to work on your shadows. Looking at the beach Appaloosa unicorn and the galaxy sabino, the hair/mane/forelock should cast a shadow on the horse's body/face. It may seem like a little thing but it really does enhance realism. Along the same lines, looking at the same pieces, be careful with the shadow the horse is casting on the ground. I love that you have a shadow there but very rarely do you have a perfectly crisp shadow coming directly down from the horse. Instead, pay attention to your light sources for the direction of the shadow and don't be afraid to blur the shadow a bit, especially as it gets farther away from the horse.
I've seen a lot of your auctions and you've had some horrible luck with people not paying and backing out on you which I'm so sorry for. Unrelated though, your starting bids are honestly a bit high. By having them that high and having the AB relatively close to the SB, you're somewhat discouraging actual bidding and excluding perhaps smaller stables who can't afford a starting bid of 200k+. I've had multiple customs sell for a few million now and the starting bid has never been higher than 100k. If you want to guarantee getting 200k+ per piece, then you may do a bit better with a premade shop than multiple auctions.
Overall, I think you're doing an excellent job. It just takes some time to build up a solid customer base which is something I'm going through right now too after being gone for a while haha. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever have any questions or would like clarification. Best of luck and lots of love <3

I agree with everything Gem said. The only thing I can point out in addition is the mane and tail, it somehow feels like there is a discrepancy between the body prep style and the long hairs. Maybe the best way to explain this is that it feels like the mane and tail prep was done for a different piece of art than the body prep. Especially in the second and fifth examples.

Sadly manes and tails are my weakest points, so I don't feel qualified to give tips on how to fix this. Your shadows within the mane and tail itself are already very nice. Maybe the problem is that I see less detail in them than the body prep? There is the gradient of the base color and then one lighter, thinner line following along the flow of each. Maybe if there were more of these thinner lines inside, both light and dark, it would help? But then again, I don't know how much of the mane and tail prep you do is a choice of style, so I don't want to put my nose to where it doesn't belong x)

I was eyeing a few of your auctions too - sadly, didn't have a horse for either. And while I don't think 200k+ is an unreasonable asking price for your pieces - quite the contrary -, the high SB deterred me as well. I can't quite explain why, it's sort of instinctual almost. So I agree with Gem on the question of a premade shop as well.
