This is a contest piece I've been working on. How can I blend the legs into the background better? I erased to how deep I want the legs in the snow but I'm not sure where to go from there. If anyone has any tips or tutorials they would be appreciated :) Also looking for any tips on the lighting, it looks off to me but I can't figure out why

I'd add a shadow and maybe some snow that's being kicked up for the grounding effect. But otherwise it looks quite splendid to me.

Oh wow! This looks really nice!!! Super great quality in the horse, muscling and color are spot on. I genuinely like the current lighting of the horse but to make it blend better with the background, increase the background's contrast/brightness. That should help significantly. Adding a shadow underneath/slightly behind the horse will help to ground it. I absolutely hate blending feet into sand or snow so I can't provide much help there. Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you both!! I didn't even think to add a shadow so I'll definitely be doing that. I'll mess with the brightness/contrast of the backround too, do you think changing the color balance to have cooler tones would help it match better?

Messed around a bit and came up with this. Had some trouble with the shadow and snow, does it look ok or should I change anything? I also lightened the background some Edited at October 26, 2020 12:50 AM by Stardust Acres
