No. Nalo is in a 20 gallon long, which is about 12" tall.

My 20 gallon is an Aqueon, my 40 is a Marineland (I think). I love them both. And if you buy them new, stores will have a return policy on them in case a seam leaks or theres a crack you can't see.

The only time I recommend buying second-hand is if you're purchasing a large tank and are willing to learn how to reseal it. Otherwise, it's cheaper (and safer) to buy from a store!

Oh also, I heard betta fish like shallow water so does that mean something as tall as 12" is too tall for them?

Do you guys have any tank brand recommendations? I definitely need one with a lid.

They are great for supplies! Our LFS actually partners with them because of how much they recommend them.

I was thinking of ordering supplies from this company. I have heard good things and they have good guides.

Checkout used tanks often people will be nearly giving them away, just make sure to fill it up outside first for a few days to make sure it’s not leaking. Never take a tank with cracks even if they’re small and are current ply holding water
Backwood Barns

Or, you can typically do it cheaper by piecing it together yourself. Tank, light, cover(optional), heater, filter, air pump, airline hoses, bubble wand, substrate, and then obviously decorations (nothing plastic) and the fish.

I reccomend tetras as well, you want a lot 10-20 as theyre schooling fish and they have a high casualty rate especially when you first get them

You can get a 20 gallon tall kit at most pet stores for about $200 that will include just about everything except substrate, plants, and fish.

Bird, I loved my tetras, I believe I had the 2 for 4/5 years? But do be weary when you get them, I originally had 4 but unfortunately we lost 2 very shortly after due to the 'professionals' we talked with I'll informing us on the best amount for our tank!

Bettas are definitely able to get away with a 10. I just wouldn't go lower, they explore and swim around way more than people realize

For preferably a smaller tank. Less than 20 gallons.

Ah, finished LOTR last night. If anyone who's read the entire book feels like it, I would *love* to chat about it via PMs :)

I am looking for book recommendations!
.
Reading level: 300+ pages preferred. I'm terrible at categorizing reading levels, so ja >.<
Genre: Historical Fiction
General plotline and/or books similar: The Book Thief, The Boy At The Top Of The Mountain.

Hmm... I don't read much Historical Fiction, but I believe Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children mainly takes place during WWII? Although that is definitely fantasy/sci-fi.
Honestly, I haven't read much that can compare to The Book Thief within that genre. I read Hugo Cabret around when it was published (takes place in the early 1930's?) before the movie came out, and it was... interesting. Don't remember much of it other than I was confused for most of it, but the illustrations and the way the story was told was so cool.
I've never heard of The Boy At The Top of The Mountain, but it looks good! Added it to my TBR list on goodreads.

Uh I think this would fall under Historical Fiction.

I read the book "Between Shades of Grey" a few years ago and genuinely loved it. The book is set in 1941 and the family gets deported by the Soviets and are treated extremely poorly as you could imagine. The main character writes and draws pictures hoping they get back to her father who's in a prison camp. There are parts of the book that are quite vile but the message of fearlessness, love and hope really does pull at your heart. Plus, it's pretty long which I like :)
Im not one for historical fiction but that's my favorite book of all time. I totally recommend.
(I tried not to spoil anything except what you'd read on the back of the book lol incase anyone does read it)

Ooh I've actually had a few of these on my reading list. I shall have to get to them soon! I'm on the last book of one series and finishing another, so hopefully I'll get to some others soon.

for those looking for hisotorical romance fiction and some funny moments I highly recomend the author Catherine Coulter and her Mideval Series (Warriors Song, Fire Song, Earth Song, Secret Song).
I have a dear friend who has written a book that is a must read for everyone and can be found in digital and print. Lisa Poche Calhoun (not your typical zombie garbage):

Superflare: The Fortunate Ones is the story of one determined family's fight to survive after a giant solar flare unleashes EMP-like destruction upon them. They deal with their losses and adapt to their new way of life, intent to forge ahead and survive. This survival fiction novel, which will also please readers of contemporary westerns, includes a couple of captivating romantic veins that carry the story well. The book is garnering one five-star review after another.
