I have a stallion whos genetic areExtension: Ee Agouti: aa Creme: CcrCcr Roan: rnrn Dun: Dd Pearl: PrlPrl Silver: zz Champagne: chch Grey: gg White: ww Tobiano: Toto Splash White: splspl Sabino: sbsb Rabicano: rbrb Frame: oo Leopard Complex: lplp PATN-1: patn-1patn-1 PATN-2: patn-2patn-2 I figured he would maybe give me color if I bred to color. I had a few mares left to breed so I tossed them to him for fun. All the mares are solid colors. every foal had beautiful patterns. Not one was solid. 5 foals. Am I mimisunderstanding the genetics here?

Every foal will have at least one copy of creme. He carries tobiano. But like nothing else 🤷♀️

He's heterozygous for tobiano so I guess you just got lucky and all foals are tobiano?

Must be lucky. He has put nice markings on all if them. Just had me going as I looked at his gnetics and figured that he might give me color out of a color mare. Thank you

Creme: CcrCcr two cream, so he will always put out a smokey black, perlino, or cremello. which isnt exactly a marking but it gets you higher up on colors. Dun: Dd carries dun gene, can be put on any color. only one gene though. (if a horse has dun in its color its more likly gonna be a rarer color)
Tobiano: Toto one gene of tobiano. so honestly you just got lucky unless the mares were blank(solid looking but have the genes for paint/appy) /carriers.
technically if you breed him to cream horses you have a chance of getting a double cream + dun + Toto. which most are under 1/100 overall that was just luck unless the mares were carriers(would be in the name if they were, except pearl). Good game.
