Thank you.. hate to say it but I might be selling him. If he can't ride than he needs to go so I can buy another riding horse. Don't want to but if he can't be ridden I'm gonna have to ):

Get the vet out before you give up on him. That's not good horsemanship or fair to him.

Exactly what I'm doing, if the vet says he cannot be rode then I am unfortunately going to have to sell him.

You posted this first on April 27 - and now it is May 12 ... almost 3 weeks later and this poor horse still did not see a vet but you think of selling him?!? How do you consider to get the swelling away? From ignoring it or just wait and hope? Or from the right medial treatment, that would have helped within the last 3 weeks instead of just waiting. Please get a vet as soon as possible and help this horse!
Sometimes I really dont understand some people´s mindset towards unsound animals???

Thats what I am trying to do, right now I am putting medicine on it and I'm hosing it down. Not selling the big boy now, please no negative comments, I might as well delete this. I have been tending to it, and it has gotten better. Please try not to assume :P

Sounds exactly like stocking up to me! My giant TB gets it during the winter time from not being ridden/moving around as much as he normally does. To "fix" it I cold hosed it and took him on walks daily and the swelling went down on it's own. It's not something that you can cure, but it doesn't have any negative effects. Just more of a cosmetic thing. Exercise should do the trick! Hope he feels better soon! <3

Definitely cellulitis. To prevent it from happening again in the near future, wash his legs once or twice a week.

We have it figured out, he has seen a vet. It is cellulitis, we are working on getting it to go down.
