LBs is a mix of their strength and their foals (mostly their own strength I believe), so while she has produced really well she might not simply be strong enough herself. She is out of a WEE

Ah it's so nice to see someone in the equestrian industry and not having to deal with toxic people. I'm on the english side and some of the rich brats, i just can't. So happy for you as finding a horse like that as it's an amazing feeling. Hope you a have a blast with both of them!

I worked for an eventing barn a couple years ago for no pay, just stall board and shitty lessons. It was awful. The trainer was awful, the clients were awful. I hated it. She was up at the arena one day I just picked my horse up and left. I was working 7am-8pm most days. 30 double stalls and about 10 regular ones. Turning horses out, painting, feeding etc. it was terrible. And I was still young.
I have found so much peace in the western industry. It's truly so incredible.

My 2 days at Cutters in Cowtown were not very good but definitely a learning experience. Virgil and I have become best friends and we definitely read each other's emotions heavily. Thankful for the opportunity to show at a higher caliber, and thankful for my barn family and my real family for supporting me. And of course, endlessly thankful for Virgil. Can't wait for the next show and the many years of showing to come as my skills progress :)

I've honestly shown a few times since I last posted haha. Things have been a little bit rough but I am improving and Virgil and I are starting to figure it out together.

I sold my mare Gigi after she had been in training for awhile because training is expensive and currently I have no real need for an amateur/non-pro horse.

How did you acquire the job and get into cutting world after riding/competing in english for so long? I really want to get into the cutting and reining world more and get into showing, but I have only ever really done trail and pleasure riding not to mention I live in WI so I definitely don't have much cow sense/cow horse experience lol though I'd ideally like to move down south to live & work in that community if that makes any sense

I was family friends with my bosses beforehand but honestly if you just reach out to trainers you will find someone needing help. There are a lot of groups on Facebook where people post either ads wanting help or wanting a job, and for most there is no cowhorse experience required. Just look for "loper" groups on Facebook. There are a TON of big name trainers looking for jobs right now. If you pm me I can point you in the right direction :)

Haven't updated in a LONG time but I've shown quite a few times since October. Circuit finals was alright... scores were still low and Virgil had started to get sour but we got it together a couple weeks later and had our first NCHA win in the youth with a 73 (I choose to ignore the fact that he completely quit the cow on day 2 and cost us another win lol)
I am moving up to a new horse this year as it's my last year in the youth and I need to be on something higher caliber to show in all of the scholarship cuttings and qualify for Nationals next year so that is super exciting and the opportunity to ride this mare is absolutely incredible. I can't believe how lucky I am sometimes <3

I've worked cutting horse for a number of years on my family farm/ranch. I miss working with them. They are such fun to work with. And some of the horses you've mentioned I do know about, so congrats.
