I agree. Judging by what you've said about him and his attitude that comes across in the pictures, he seems super curious about life. Is he spooky about anything?

He is SUPER curious. He loves getting into things and seeing what he can find. We've ponied him out on the trails a few times, and although he was overall a bit nervous (to be expected having never been out on trails) - he wasn't spooky at all. Nor has he been when I've been on him these few times. If something catches his attention, he really only arches up and slowly moves away. He has yet to be truly startled by anything.

Rode Eli again today. You'd never know he's green (minus the fact that here and there he forgets how to turn - HA!). I always lunge him first, and today, wow he was being flashy. He had his neck all arched, tail over his back, and trotting quite big. He was enjoying showing off. I was interested to see if he'd have that much energy when I rode, but nope. I got on and he was calm as can be. People were hunting and gunshots would go off here and there - NO response whatsoever. No flinch or anything, just listening. I was so impressed, he's so solid. We did some trotting today! He definitely loves to move out, although he forgets how to turn once in awhile because he gets so excited when he trots. Makes me laugh!

Not much to update as I don't have pictures and it's been so gosh darn cold here. But I can always tell you more about him as I learn about him.
I don't know how many of you have ridden horses that have lots of impulsion in their hind end - but if you have, you'd know it. I'll be referencing it in a minute.
It's amazing how easily this guy bridles up. Like I've been training my other gelding for the show ring for three years, and don't get me wrong - he's awesome, but he just isn't built naturally for the show ring. He loves to show, and does well at open and lower level shows, but just isn't built for high level shows - ya know?
But Eli, you can tell, he's just made to be a star. By the end of me working him the other day, I had him bridling at the walk (one step at a time my friends) with simply leg pressure. I'm someone who firmly believes in a light, steady hand, and using legs to teach them to bridle. Always ask, don't tell. Feel free to ask me about my training at any time - I love PMs. In any case, by the end, he was bridled gorgeously and if he started to come out, I'd squeeze him with my legs and he'd calmly bring it back into place. Extraordinary.
Back to the impulsion part mentioned above. He's so cool when he's bridled, because I can feel how easily he can round and hold his hind end under himself and even at the walk, I can feel the impulsion in his hind end. I was actually laughing the other day because he was so eager to please and collect that he was taking itty bitty steps and was so full of impulsion that he was almost bouncing.
As I've mentioned before, he still gets excited trotting under saddle and forgets to turn. Like he loves to trot, and I think he gets a little distracted with how excited he gets. Young, green horses, I tell ya xD In any case, we did small trotting circles the other day to teach him to bend his body (and that he could, in fact, trot and turn at the same time). Hes very smart, and tries so hard! I love it. And he's more of a snuggle bug by the day. Also, he had NO idea what an apple was and didn't want it until we shoved it in his mouth. Then he realized that he really loves apples! Ha!
