I think rare traits should be slightly inheritance... Like a 25% chance? It would definitely help with breeding quests! xD

I think 25 % is too much, maybe like 10 % or 5 % instead? Edited at April 8, 2026 03:06 PM by Royale Equestria

Narran Park said: I do think there should be a slight inheritable chance. I was observing some wild brumbies in Australian high country a couple of years ago. Most of them are solid colours, however there are a few roans and palominos among them. BUT, there was one mare who had lovely Birdcatcher spots. She had a filly at foot. Now the filly didnt have Birdcatcher spots...BUT, she DID have some kind of white gene which gave her a big blaze and flashy stockings...so there definitely was some kind of gene going on there and it was obviously inheritable(unless it was something else at play).
Possibly some of the W's...who really knows. -------- For the sake of realism...I would like to maybe see some of the W genes added(W20)...and if a horse is POSITIVE for a W gene or maybe even Homozygous, then there is a higher chance of breeding Brindle or similar white gene. That way it is less random and there is more strategy...especially since there is already loads of Brindles in game... Brindle could still be random, but NOT inheritable without W20 or W20/W20... Anything that is inheritable cannot be rolled on anymore...(we cant roll Frame on a non-frame horse)....Not sure if this needs more discussion though....Maybe you COULD roll Brindle on...but its not the inheritable type..only wild type... Can you hire me for Genetics concepts so I can quit my job? :D I will spend my entire day thinking about this haha!
And Yay for the Gulastra Plume! I love these new additions! <3
For the sake of realism: Yes to every point raised here.

If a trait is genetically inheretible it should no longer be able to roll on/off as that defeats the purpose of being genetically linked. Would love to see sooty/flax/pangare/etc get proper genetics though!
