Agree with this. Hummingbird Meadows said: If it is purely cosmetic in the sense that there is just text saying "your horse is angry" I don't think it is worth the effort. I would much rather see other things worked on.

i picked other so i think if you add personalitys you should put in consiteration making a emote/animations like blinking and tale swishing and mabye some other fun animations/soumds to match the personality and age but just a thought but yeah personalitys would be crazy cool and help full.

I absolutely love this idea! Along those lines I think it would be really neat if the randomized treat messages indicated personality (prefering a certain treat or hating another) and/or mood, especially for how mood plays a role in racing. It would be helpful to test some of our usual horses to know if they're up for racing that day, or even maybe for explore?

This would also help alot with choosing what horses to race, if the mood applies to that.

At the risk of sounding like a grinch, I joined this game as a strategy game but over the years it's becoming more cutesy and younger (and maybe I'm just getting older!). But I would like to keep it geared more towards strategy and showing/breeding leaderboards than personality/moods. I get that this might be an unpopular opinion (as shown by the votes), so if it does come then please keep it as just cosmetic, and not something where you have to "feed your horse an apple before you show so it's happy and places well or else the horse refuses to do xyz".

This makes sense. Personally I voted for it but it's not an important addition I would say. And I would definitely be against it if it affects anything. Honestly, I kinda like the idea of what QuietPlace mentioned. Having something where it could be implemented, but can also be ignored otherwise. I also think that a slight impact on exploring could be interesting just as they mentioned, but not too much because of people who have worked really hard to breed up exploration horses. QuietPlace said: I like the idea of it being cosmetic to those that only want to show or breed for showing, but I'd love if we got something that it would effect.
A few ideas.
- In-hand shows where personality and mood effects it. Doesn't require training and would be a great way to get use of horses that are of lower quality eventing wise. This could be great for the more color-focused community or people who just need a new breeding project. Could be similar to the racing and jousting game or maybe something members can host in their arenas for fun. - Personalities could effect what type of encouragement they respond to better in exploration, could even get into what their perfered encouragement is dependent on the obstical infront of them. Could make the exploration less likely to just be spamclicked through.
- Horses could favor certian living envirations and putting them in the one they like could give a small bonuses that doesn't directly effect showing and controlled breeding. For example social horses are more likely to breed in pastures, anxiety ridden horses like their stables and train better when there while energetic horses train better when they are housed in pastures. I don't think people would enjoy (currently at least) if these gave any debuffs (slower training, less likely to breed in pastures, etc. But I think most players would enjoy little bonuses.

I originally voted yes, but the more I think, the more worried I become. It absolutely cannot affect showing, breeding or training (training "boosts" would ruin tracking)! Bravery and exploring I'd be somewhat open to, heavily depending on what it would be. I like QuietPlace's idea of personalities affecting what encouragement option horses prefer in explore. The preferences are super hard to tell at the moment, and this change could help with both bravery testing and normal exploring. This is a very minor thing for most players though, and I see people's point about this being a lot of effort for very little. I would also not like this if it affected how likely horses are to spook. It would need to only make preferences easier to figure out, not rework how spooking works. The spam click method should not be nerfed, we do not need to make the "no spooking" explore quests any more annoying. I do love KHP's idea of personalities affecting the text when giving treats!

It would not affect any of that. It would be cosmetic.
It would be cool if their mood could be effected with treats it would also give treats a new use. Your horse's personality could love a sugar cube and when given a sugar cube their mood could change to excited. Your horse could hate carrots and when treated with a carrot they could be upset and moody lol just some fun things/interactions we could have with our horses as just cosmetic fun would be awesome!
