Well, working at a zoo, it's something I had to learn eventually. It's inevitable. We just don't practice on actual venomous ones... Just super spicy non-venomous noodles. Lol

Training helps, for sure.

I don't think anyone picks up snakes here unless they are "Snake Catchers".
Versailles

It was in my first year at college. :) I found the snake and the professor about cried. I brought it to him and the rehabber saved the snake's life.

Good to note that bullsnakes are non-venomous. I'd never do that for something like a rattlesnake without a tube and a snake hook. Which I am also trained for at this point lol

I'd probably be pretty chill too if i was ran over..

Thats great news!

I am not afraid of them, but i am definitely wary.

I could not fathom picking a snake up in the wild, never.

Good job saving it Versa! They all play their roll.

Like, pick it up off the street to take to him. I was the only one who would. He was SUPER chill.

He has since recovered and been re-released.

Snakes don't scare me really at all... But I know everything to look for and the venomous snakes within my area, *easily* I can identify them and keep myself safe. Though I have picked up a wild bullsnake at my previous state. Professor took it to rehab after being run over by a car and nobody else wanted to pick it up... So I did lol.

Spiders too, but to a lesser degree.

As an Aussie. It is absolutely DRUMMED into us from a very young age to stay away from snakes. almost all ours are venomous and the non-venomous ones look the same as the venomous ones...so our fear is heightened.

Yeah you're probably right.
A combination between Evolution and childhood trauma.

Things like this get passed down through generations. I heard somewhere that prehistoric spiders were HUGE. Like, take the biggest spider today and double it. It's probably genetic, like the snakes.
Versailles
08:17:23 Versa
I'd say it's similar to the fear of snakes, or maybe even lupophobia (phobia of wolves). Historically, humans had to be scared of snakes due to the venom. Snakes today are very different. The fear of wolves has been one budding more recently, due to all of our nursery stories detailing them eating farm animals. Which is actually very rarely occurring. :)

My issue with spiders is they always run toward me.

I had a large wolf spider living with me in my old apartment. His name was Travis and he liked to hide behind my desk.

I'd love to own a rose knee tarantula, they are my favorite 😍

Yeah, i wonder why the fear of Spiders is soo common.

See, I won't put my hand ANYWHERE near spiders because I just... Don't trust them, lol. But I've held a praying mantis with my bare hands so my professor could save it... Spider fear is irrational but very relevant in humans.

Like I get that they are here for a reason but that still doesn't make them less scary to me lol I don't hate them, just am scared to death by them x.x

A pack of many tales, some say it never existed, others say they do exist but were a god. Many say they absorb secret powers of lily pads, forming powers.

(Lead stallion: Colorado - A black stallion, totally not evil! Owner: GrimmAndReaper)
(Messager:???)
(Mares: Texas- A large mare, willing to do anything for her herd members. Palomino coat.)

I changed my mind on letting people comment on the actual story, so please do comment on this!
(Mesa Herd Cultures)
A herd that believes in wealth. Dressing themselves with ivy, flowers, and rare cacti. The mesa signals wealth with a rare cacti called, Aram Flo, derived from the latin words, Aurum meaning gold, and Flos meaning flower.
Young foals are dressed with wealthy items, the hide of coyotes, flowers, and more. When a foal reaches a year old they are decked with many ropes of ivy, when the foal recieves their, Funis Heder, they set off on a quest to defeat a buffalo. Once defeated the foal is allowed to keep the buffalo hide
(Dirava Herd)
A herd full of mares, the yearling colts are kicked out for a journey. Once they are kicked out the mares host a mooning party. In which the mares meet at night and give prayers to, Fira, their deity to let the mare's colt make the journey to form a new herd.

Dirava Colt Packs
Very little of the colts actually form herds, but those that do are prized. Dirava calls their colts new herds, "Packs" in order to honor the courage they have.
(Demeter Pack)
A pack with little fear, they have adapted tusks to fit their snowy terrain. Instead of grazing mainly. They evolved to grow larger to let them eat unlucky horses who stumble upon them.
Dirava's Colt
(Lucifer- A bulky grey horse with a coyote coat dyed midnight blue. It is said he is sent down from Fira herself to bring order to the horses. He goes off with his hunting group much of the time in order to control population or Dirava's herd and the Mesa herd.)
(Ovifer Pack)
A pack with little to nothing known about them. All that is known is they strike out against migrating herds attempting to get onto their territory.
