Ley, Lee, and Rile are all just shortened names of his first name.

Disparo Lejano is a nickname given to him in the past.

Pepper is what his mom used to call him.

Height / Build: He is around 6'1-6'2, pretty average of a height. He is more on the toned side around his torso, but most of his strength is in his legs and core. Considering he's been riding for so many years of his life, those are just the muscles most developed. Not to say that his arms aren't muscular, but the point stands.

Eye Color: He has deep hazel eyes, specks of green littered around the iris. They hold a weight to them. He's lived through a lot. Seen a lot too. They are tired yet sharp and precise.

Hair Color / Style: He has dark brown hair thats short but not short enough to tuck into a hat. It trails down his neck a bit. He has slight bangs that fall onto his forehead. Its wavy and pretty unruly. He also has a light beard.

Skin Tone / Distinguishing Marks: Tan from being in the sun so often. Freckles cover his arms and shoulders, he also has them on his legs and down his back. But theres less of them lower on his body. He has a birthmark on his lower back too, its sort of crescent shaped.

Ethnicity / Background: He is American, white(?) with English descent. Trying to avoid describing too much of his background so it makes the roleplay more interesting.

Voice / Accent: He has that typical southern accent then, but he grammar is surprisingly good for someone like him. His mother was determined to teach him proper grammar.

Dominant Hand: Right-handed, but he is semi-ambidextrous. He can use both hands but he prefers his right.

Notable Scars, Tattoos, or Injuries: No tattoos, but he has a notable burn mark between his shoulder blades. It's fairly large and has mostly healed, but left a scar. His left knee has some issues and will sometimes roll or give out, but he has adapted to it and has gotten much better at staying upright despite the issue. He has many scars, most from his long past. He has two gunshot wound scars, one in his left thigh and the other in his right side. (It pretty much just grazed him.) He also has a few knife scars coating his skin, some scrapes too, but none other that are notable enough.

PERSONALITY

Core Personality Traits (3-5):

Riley comes across as cold and aloof, keeping his distance from strangers and anyone he isn’t close to. He has little patience—or empathy—for the suffering of others, often seeming indifferent to what doesn’t directly affect him. Generally laid-back, Riley isn’t particularly stubborn and prefers to go with the flow, letting life carry him wherever it pleases. The exception lies in his morals—those are non-negotiable, and he’ll stand his ground firmly when they’re challenged.

His sense of humor is dry and dark, often laced with deadpan sarcasm that sounds more like a quiet "why me, life?" than anything cutting. While he can be polite, it’s never out of obligation. Riley believes respect is something earned, not freely given—he treats others according to what he thinks they deserve.

His morals are somwtimes very blurred to others. As they may not make sense. He won't kill woman unless in self-defense. He *will not* kill children. Even if they attack him. Overall he tries not to just kill without reason.

Overall pretty numb to it. He's killed so many and watched others die. He doesn't feel much toward it anymore. Its a neutral ground for him. Blood and gore is nothing new. Sometimes he finds he needs it even.

How They Handle Stress:

He tends to try and drink his stress away, but sometimes he'll take Bella out and go on a long ride. Sometimes he'll go hunting. It tends to depend, but he needs to do something to distract him from his stress and calm him down.

Soft Spots / Hidden Sensitivities:

Belleza always has a soft spot in his horse. Morrow, a gelding he owned a while back holds a soft spot. Oscar and his family too. His old friends hold soft spots too, despite everything that happened.

He is sensitive towards his family, his past, and his drinking problem mainly. Though there are smaller things that are sensitive topics.

RELATIONSHIPS

Closest Companion / Partner (could be the other cowboy):

Romantic, he's had a few girls over the years. But none that ever stook.

Platonic, he knew a kid named Oscar once. They traveled together for a while before Oscar left to go find his father, causing them to split ways.

Family (living/dead/estranged?):

Winnifer Jordan–Mom–Deceased: He had a great relationship with her before she died. She took care of him and his brother, always making sure he was alright. She was an amazing wife too. She also called him "Her little Pepper" or "Spicy Pepper" because he loved the peppers they grew.

Gustis Jordan–Dad–Deceased: They had a pretty good relationship. He taught Riley to swim, farm, and all sorts of other things. He owes quite a few of his survival skills to him.

Fennic Jordan–Brother-Unknown: They were brothers, so they were very close. Fennec was older by a year. Riley and Fennic got along, had the occasional sibling fight. They were heavy on competition though. They competed in everything.

Oscar/Friend–Unknown: His good friend. At the start things were rocky, but he and Oscar became friends eventually. Oscar was a very optimistic guy, despite everything. And he was a good guy to be around. Practically a sunshine incarnate.

That is one thing he does not lack. Enemies. Due to his past, he has plenty of enemies. Gangs, lawmen, private business owners. The whole shabang. He pissed off a many a people. And most still would love his head hung on their wall.

He is single currently.

He has had a few girls in the past, but they were mostly flicks and barely lasted a month.

In today's words/modern world, Riley would probably be under the label 'queer'.

Reputation Among Strangers:

Typically nowadays, he's seen as the average cowboy. A horse, a gun, and nothing to lose. He doesnt mind the stereotype as much as he might have in the past. He tends to like being able to hide under what people see on the surface.

Reputation Among Friends:

He doesnt have many friends and the ones he does have are all dead or split up around the country. They would probably see him as cold, serious, and stubborn if they were there.

Previous Occupations: He worked at a stable when he was very young before meeting his friends. Currently he is not working a steady job, he mostly just picks up bounties every now and then.

HISTORY

Birthplace / Childhood Setting:

He was born at home in a large house in the countryside. They lived on a fairly large part of land, horses, a river, deer and other game. They were a a bit of a ride away from the first town, but they thankfully didn't get too much action so far out. The house had five rooms, two floors, a fenced area and a pasture, and basic amenities back then.

He wants to settle down in a cabin hidden away in the mountains. He would like someone to settle down with, but he figures he's too old to find someone. He doesnt really think he could ever settle down, but he finds the idea appealing.

Weight / Build: She is built a bit thin but very strong. She is agile and can be quick, but she is also very sturdy for long travels.

PERSONALITY & BEHAVIOR

Temperament: Level-headed after so long on the roads and involved in so many situations.

Strengths: She excels in cantering or running for long distances, long travel times/overnight trails, and swimming.

She is a very affectionate mare. Its gotten her and Riley into some trouble sometimes. She loves to be close to Riley and doesnt mind being around other horses. She's a very social horse, but she enjoys Riley's company the most.

Tolerant of Gunfire?:

She is very good with gunfire. Shes been with Riley most of her life and with his past and all, she had to be used to it. She stays calm in moments of danger and trusts Riley to take care of her.

Good with Other Animals?:

She is pretty social and friendly, so yes! She doesnt love dogs, since shes had some bad experiences, but other animals are pretty okay! She especially likes cats and other horses.

Relationship to Rider:

Her and Riley have a great bond. She is very comfortable with him and trusts him a lot.

Favorite Thing / Treat:

Sugar cubes and apples. You could win her over with just those. (Joking, but still lol.)

Least Favorite Thing:

She doesn't like fire or smoke, but those are similar. She doesnt like dogs, snakes, dry hay, and mud.

Speed: She is very fast and agile, one of the reasons Riley bought her. She is quite good at adjusting her speed quickly, going from stopped to cantering, cantering to trotting, etc.

Endurance: She has very good endurance. Having been ridden far distances almost since she was 4-ish, she has built up a very good endurance for long distance traveling.

Stealth / Agility: She is Not the quietest horse out there. While being agile, she isnt necessary quiet. Since she is a horse, and not a silent on at that.

Battle Trained?:

No, she is not. She will kick or bite, but only if threatened.

Willing to Travel in Rough Terrain?:

Yes, she is steady-footed and ready to travel any terrain she must.

Notable Tricks or Training:

Not really. She can rear on command, slide to a stop, and spin. But thats about it.

CONDITION & HISTORY

Shoes or Barefoot?:

She has shoes on all feet. Riley wanted them done properly so he paid quite a bit for them to be done right.

Scars / Injuries:

She has a dog bite on her left front leg from where she was attacked, its healed nicely and is only a scar. She has a scrape on her butt from another horse, and she has a knife scar along the side of her neck. (From a time Riley had to cut a tight rope off of her neck and nicked her.)

Where Horse Came From / Previous Owner:

Riley bought her when she 4 years old, a spunky mare at her age. She was around 250 dollars back then. He trained her, taught her, and loved her. He's had her for 5-ish years by now.

How the Cowboy Treats the Horse:

Riley loves her to the moon and back. Probably further then the moon to be honest. He's very kind, he trusts her, he makes sure she's alright. Sometimes he can be protective over her, not wanting her to get hurt.
