(Sry it's short, will be back soon!) Dakota loped Secret around the edge of the warm-up arena, making sure the mare was stretched out and warm before doing a couple practice runs around the barrels. She double and triple checked Secret's turns before being satisfied with the run. Dakota sighed, knowing tonight would be their big debut. As she came around the same corner for the hundreth time, though, Secret decided it was suddenly terrifying and balked, sending Dakota overboard. "Shit." She said, getting up. Dakota stroked the mare's nose and walked Secret over to the board she had found scary. Dakota stood on it. "See? It's alright, baby." She murmured to the horse, mounting up again. Dakota jogged Secret out and to the arena to compete with their barrel run. Dakota was patting Secret's neck as the two of them came out of the ring with a time of 15.82 seconds. Dakota was beaming, happy that their first copetitive rodeo had been a success. "We got third, so there's still a bit of prize money, but there's also a buckle." Dakota told her horse, walking her to their trailer to untack for tonight. Edited at November 27, 2024 10:20 AM by Blue Diamond

Dakota's name was announced, and she came out to collect her buckle. "Thank you." She said, as county newspapers got their stories.

Dakota blushed as she walked back out of the arena, going to take care of Secret before heading to sleep in her truck. She sighed as she untacked the paint mare, grooming her horse. She turned to put her brushes away when she saw the same guy that had given her the buckle she had won. Dakota quickly looked away, blushing again. Stupid feelings. She thought, slamming her truck door shut. She turned Secret loose within the gooseneck trailer, making sure the back was locked and the horse had water before going into the cab of her truck.

Dakota easily fell asleep. The next morning, Dakota got dressed with some effort before hopping out of her truck and pulling out Secret for tonight's rodeo. "Last one, then we can head home until next weekend." Dakota told the mare, grooming her. Secret was rather nippy, so Dakota quickly grabbed the half-full haynet from inside the trailer, tying it in front of Secret. Dakota worked quickly to groom, yet was thorough, hoping to get to the arena before any of the other girls. She grabbed her gaming tack, tossed it on Secret, and walked the mare over to the arena. There were a couple other girls just loping around the edge, but Dakota still sighed, annoyed. She jogged the rail, making sure she wasn't in the way of the other girls.
