I’ve always found that horses go for far too cheap in auctions. Some horses fetch good money, but not many. I’ve seen so many WWWs sell for well under 150k and they were young with colour and sort after breeds. Even svenned and on the LB. Absolute madness

⋆☽ Morana Tacitus ☾⋆
``Quote Placeholder.``

⋆⁺。˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚。⁺⋆

Primary Information

Name: Morana Tacitus

Alias(es): Classified.

Sobriquet(s)/Nicknames: Mora; Corvus.

Age: Classified; Unknown; Immortal

Gender/Pronouns: Female; She/Her.

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Job/Occupation: Member of the Vampiric Court (Royalty)

(Approximate) Height: 168 Centimeters or 5 Feet and 5 Inches

(Approximate) Weight: Approximately 125 Pounds or 56 Kilograms

Overall Appearance: Morana is the epitome of grace and elegance, showcasing a slender and lithe build. Her hair is as black as the night, her eyes a deep blue that seem almost black; the color turns more reddish whenever she is feeling intense emotions or is near blood. Her skin is pale and umblemished, save for a few marks on her neck. The features of her face are not defined, but soft, contradicting her usual demeanor and actions. It is important to note she is short compared to most vampires, which is why most don`t suspect her.

Adjunct(s)/Accessories: She wears numerous bracelets, rings, and necklaces that are switched out on a daily basis. Morana prefers modern jewelry compared to antiques and ancient ones. Her nails are are almost always painted black.

Outfit Aesthetic: Morana wears professional attire all of the time, the only exception being when she is truly in a foul mood and aspires to wear something comfortable. She wears clothing that are either dark in hue or deep and vibrant in color. Understandably, she almost always prefer wearing black. She prefers sweaters and skirts over luxurious dresses, but is often seen wearing one or the other.

Voice/Intonation: Morana's voice is always playful and teasing, but undeniably feminine. It is often compared to a scolding mother's voice, soft yet firm. Her voice is almost always the key to figuring out what she is thinking or feeling.

Alternate Information

Stars represent their view of their relationship; 5 being perfect.

The Father (★★☆☆☆): He is known as the original Vampire, hence his title; no one is aware of his genuine designation due to unknown reasons. The vampires that are members of the Vampiric Court are the first twelve he turned into his kind, the position being passed on by descendants whenever one unfortunately passed away. Morana is not close with him whatsoever, even if she was the third to originally be turned all those centuries ago. Their beliefs often rival each other and they have never gotten along. Regardless, The Father has been absent as of recently due to rising tensions.

Antinous (★★★★☆): He is the first vampire that The Father ever turned and is considered an older brother by Morana. The two of them spend a plethora of time together plotting and scheming, mostly for the benefit of vampires. They are almost always seen together or at least in the same vicinity; they guard each other and protect each other as any family would.

Fighting Style: Morana relies entirely on stealth when it comes to her fighting style. Even if she is a vampire, she is lacking in the physical strength department, but it is her smaller size that allows her to be even more lithe and agile. She sticks to the shadows and almost always converses with her target before attacking; the way they speak and try their best to find her tells her all she needs to know about her opponents. Morana prefers to use daggers over guns and other weapons, using her vampiric teeth if absolutely needed..

Personality Overview

[Extroverted] [Manipulative] [Intelligent] [Charming] [Cautious] [Flirtatious]

Extroverted and magnetic, Morana thrives in the spotlight of social intrigue. Unlike the majority of the Vampiric Court, who have grown cold and distant over centuries, she craves interaction—whether to toy with emotions, manipulate perceptions, or simply savor the thrill of control. Her charm is deliberate, disarming, and dangerously effective; she knows precisely how to become what others want to see, only to guide them exactly where she wants them.

Yet despite her manipulative nature, Morana kills only when necessary. Violence, to her, is a tool—never a pleasure. She prefers the art of influence over the chaos of carnage, often resolving conflicts with words as sharp as any stake. Her restraint isn`t born of mercy, but of strategy; she plays the long game, always several moves ahead, and has no interest in wasteful bloodshed that draws attention or burns bridges.

Morana's mind is her greatest weapon. Her decisions are calculated, her emotions curated. She remembers everything, forgets nothing, and forgives only when it serves her purpose. Among the Vampiric Court, she is both revered and feared—not for her strength, but for the knowledge that crossing her means becoming a piece on a board where she already knows the endgame.

-

Likes: The Arts, Literature, Early Morning Rain, the sound of Thunder, Open and Unrestricting Spaces, Sunsets, and The Night.

Dislikes: The Day, Dirt and Dust, Oboxious Individuals, and Humans.. ew.

Side/Roleplay Notes

Preparing myself for when I forget important details.. >-<

Primary Information

Name: Sorren Belmont.

Alias(es): tbd

Sobriquet(s)/Nicknames: Wren

Age: 27

Gender/Pronouns: He/Him

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Job/Occupation: Member of the Covenant of Rowan

(Approximate) Height: 183 cm

(Approximate) Weight: 77 kg

Overall Appearance: Sorren's hair is a deep brown, with near-black eyes and warm skin which is dappled with scattered beauty spots around his torso and neck- too defined and few to be freckles. He's built lithe, with square-set but not broad shoulders, and legs slightly longer than his torso. His hands are strong, and his limbs are muscled in the way they are when one does physical labour every day. His face is made up of carved features, a roman nose and a strong brow, with a defined cupids bow. His jaw is firm but not sharp. His back is marked with a purposeful carving, the mark of his Covenent.

Adjunct(s)/Accessories: Sorren is always wearing a pendant, he keeps it concealed but the weight is heavy and cold, pressed to his skin beneath his shirts. If you ask he will tell you its for protection.

Outfit Aesthetic: Sorren is mindful of his appearance, and enjoys appearing neat. He wears outfits that are well-coordinated but not necassarily formal.

Voice/Intonation: Warm and steady, with a tendency to inflect down at the end of a sentence. He speaks levelly, but this wavers when he is stressed or surprised. He has a slight accent that emphasises his Rs

Alternate Information

Stars represent their view of their relationship; 5 being perfect.

Father ( ★★★☆☆): Earl Belmont

Mother (★★☆☆☆): Camille Belmont

Sibling(s): N/A

Personality Overview

[Opinionated] [Empathetic] [Reckless]

Sorren is strong in his own opinions, and usually unwilling to change them easily. However, just because he's a bit foolhardy does not mean he is inconsiderate of others. He'll recognize its not the time to push someone if they're in need, setting himself aside for the moments in which they need him. Contrasting his care for others- which is often reserved for those he cares for- Sorren has an overall disregard for his own safety. Wandering off is common for him, he takes risks and gets himself into difficult situations often.

Likes: Birdwatching, Bonfires, Early mornings, Violin music.

Dislikes: Foggy weather, being isolated.

It was a quiet night, on the very edge of town and away from the bustling streets and squares that came alive around this time of year. You could always count on it, on solstices or other popular holidays, people just seemed more energetic, they’d stay out longer with more of their friends and family. Sorren went, sometimes. He liked the street musicians the most, even more than the hot pastries and drinks that were served by the little vendors who took full advantage of the humming atmosphere. However, he did have other priorities at the moment, more important things to mind than spending the night out. They were nearing a solstice, and for him that meant preparing for rituals.
~
The town was bordered by a forest, and the Rowan community lined this border. It was their task to protect the town from what might come out of that forest…and no ordinary beasts roamed here. He was preparing to go out a little ways into the woods, just to check some of the hanging protections they had set up. Small wards that didn’t do much on their own, but worked well when used in large numbers. He pulled on a jacket over his clothes and grabbed a torch to bring with. He wouldn’t be needing anything else since it wasn’t his job to fix them up tonight, only to report back. Alright there was one thing he needed- but he always wore it. No need to double-check that.
~
He passed some of his neighbours on the way out, smiling at them politely and flicking on his torch when he got to the edge of the woods. He knew them at this point- or at least he thought so- and didn’t hesitate to step into them. His feet guided him without much effort on his brain’s part, right to the first ward in his assigned series. Sorren checked it properly before moving on, failing to do so would get him and others into trouble. Being a vampire-hunter was serious business. Though Sorren had only met a monster once before-
~
Not that he could remember it well, he knew the fear, and that someone had gotten hurt.... His mind failed to recall more. Forces like the Rowan existed for a reason, armed and ready. Almost like a specialized task-force…but they didn’t really answer to the police. Becoming a Rowan was a different process anyway. Though in practice he supposed it was like any other job, sometimes you worked inconvenient hours, sometimes you got time off, and you befriended your coworkers. He had a couple of friends in town, he was planning on meeting them after this.
~
His mind had wandered as he was checking each ward, and before he knew it he was almost on the last few

Morana Tacitus

⋆⁺。˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚。⁺⋆

Vampires. They were certainly a more unique type of monster, ones rumored to be more violent and ruthless compared to their fellow monstrosities that inhabited the forests surrounding protected human settlements. Regardless of this, vampires were one of the few species that had rules and a hierarchy established, preventing most conflicts they could potentially have with humans and other beings; the Father was to thank for this, even if the current Vampiric Court was restless and itching for any kind of action and adrenaline rush. His orders and laws had recently begun to be ignored and it showed with the increase of vampire sightings and presumed vampire-related murders. Due to how ancient they were, vampires knew how to bypass certain wards, sometimes even breaking them completely; the Royals were the only ones with access to such knowledge, but even they still passed it down to those beneath their designated sectors. Out of all the current five members of the Vampiric Court, it was Morana herself that was to blame for most of the human deaths. It was a little ironic that one of the more tame and composed vampires was the most brutal when it came to humans, whether it be treatment of them or the method of killing them. Either way, no one dared trifle with Morana Tacitus.. not even the Father himself.

It was late into the evening when Morana Tacitus stirred, her deep blue eyes fluttering open as she cast a brief glance at the clock ticking quietly beside her bed. Although it wasn`t too late, it certainly was past the time when the sun had fallen and the moon had risen, which meant she and her fellow vampires were free from the clutches that the sunlight had on them; it was an incredibly frustrating weakness, especially when the moon only showed itself for twelve of the twenty-four hours in a day. A quiet huff of annoyance escaped her as she cast a brief glance downwards at what she was wearing: a loose-fitting, black dress that wasn`t necessarily meant to be slept in, but even then she could care less about that minuscule fact. She had already wasted an hour by staying in bed longer than necessary, so she didn`t waste any more time by hoisting herself out of bed and wandering out of her personal chambers. There were currently five active members of the Vampiric Court- Antinous, Celeste, Faust, Vagar, and herself- and they all resided in their own sectors whenever there was no business to be handled. The other seven had long since passed and had not had replacements due to keeping to themselves mostly. At the moment, however, all five of them were staying at the Vampiric Court itself; it was a rather large, wooden mansion in the middle of the woods, a place that could only be found if one had a specific route to it thanks to the dozens of layers of sigils and protection magic that made it nearly invisible to everyone except vampires themselves. The one downside of its location, however, was the fact that there was a town approximately ten miles south of it. Truthfully, Morana could care less about the humans that resided in the town for as long as they didn`t bother her and her fellow vampires.. more specifically, the Vampiric Court; they were mostly on good terms and often viewed each other as family, keeping each other in line for the most part. It hadn`t been a problem for centuries, but you never know what could happen nowadays.

Morana walked down the dark, eerie halls of the mansion with practiced ease and grace, her head lifted slightly in a confident manner. Members of the Court were not the only ones that stayed here, so she did have to look the littlest bit decent and composed in these walls; she doubted any lesser vampire would say anything, however. She had been on the verge of entering the main lounge area when she heard a deep, rumbling laugh echoing from behind her. The sound could only belong to Antinous, so when she turned on her heels and saw him leaning against the wall, she nearly laughed as well. No words were exchanged, but she could tell solely by his expression what he wanted. She walked over towards him, frowning when he disappeared around the corner. Sometimes, she wished he would be normal and wait for her; the older vampire enjoyed games as if he were a child and, although she cared for him, it was incredibly frustrating. It was certainly more simple to say that he wanted to speak outside beneath the moon compared to having her guessing what was going on inside his head.

Checking each ward thoroughly was paramount, the Rowans knew that there were vampires who possessed the ability to sneak in through them if there was even the tiniest crack. They were an ancient sect- older than most…wiser than most. In their library texts could be found that mentioned their name and methods nearly as far back as vampires had been confirmed to exist, and it was from these texts that you had to study- Sorren recalled often into the late hours of the night and at times early hours of the morning- in order to become a Rowan. He was no expert, not like some of their members- but he knew how these wards worked, he knew how it was supposed to feel when they were doing their job and so far every single one had felt fine. Until these last few…something was off. He sensed it the moment he got close enough to touch them. A chill ran down his spine and he shivered involuntarily as he turned the hanging pendants around in his hand to check for anything that may have caused this. The hanging wards looked like ornaments, intricately carved- appropriately, out of Rowan wood- and with a small opening to push herbs into. A missing herb bundle or an unfamiliar etch in the scatter of carvings wasn’t unusual, could be caused by animals- rough weather…but this one was in worse shape than that. His stomach dropped as he came across a patch that looked sanded down.
-
An entire section of the carving was gone, worn into the grain of the wood. This couldn’t be saved- this ward was useless now. With rising concern Sorren checked the next two, one had a similar sanded appearance, but the next one over was alright. Did someone do this on purpose? Frustrated- he made a mental note and took down the numbers of the wards. They needed to be replaced tonight, someone was coming in on the late shift…and he had a feeling it might be him. He sighed, knowing he’d have to cancel on his friends that night. Sorren left the damaged wards there while he checked the last one, which also seemed fine- and turned to head out of the forest. Their storage would have replacements. Rowans remained well-prepared. Even the most inexperienced members were taught how to roughly put a ward together, hacking markings into a cylinder of wood with whatever knife they had on hand. Sadly for Sorren he’d ignored the need for his knife tonight, and he couldn’t “patch up” the broken wards. Leaving them this way was dangerous and he knew it, so Sorren rushed back.
-
“Farrah?” He called into one of the Rowan’s buildings, a kind woman- small eyes, large glasses. She’d know where the correct ward was. She answered him from somewhere behind a shelf “Hm?” She stepped out, raising an eyebrow at Sorren “Wards W-24 and W-25 are out of commision” He explained, and the furrow in her brow told him she was just as concerned as he was “Again?” She asked. Sorren tensed, what did she mean by again..? This had happened before- Farrah pushed two replacement wards into his hands and pushed him out “Hurry on up. Get those set up…I’ll let the others know”. Sorren did hurry- nearly running back to the forest.
-
Wards weren’t so easy to replace as just hanging up the new ones. There was a process, a knot- a burning. It took some time and whoever had done this, or whatever, may already know of the vulnerable spot. Plus he was alone. Hm. He should have grabbed someone to go with him but no time for that now. He started putting up the new ward, holding his torch awkwardly between his teeth as his hands fumbled with the complex knot. Sorren was feeling some stress set in now, Farrah had given him a knife with the ward kits but it wasn’t exactly issue-grade silver, so it felt like time was the only thing between him and a monster encounter. His heart-beat was starting to pound, but he pushed the fear away as he secured the knot. Herbs were already in so he set them alight to smoke and warily paced to ward W-25. Almost safe, he thought. Some of the anxiety ebbing as he stepped up onto a root for leverage to reach the knot better.

Morana Tacitus

⋆⁺。˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚。⁺⋆

Morana eventually found herself outside alongside Antinous, a comfortable silence settling over the two as they followed one of the many trails throughout the foreboding forest. Although she was wearing the dress she had accidentally fallen asleep in, she still was a spiting image of what most members of the Vampiric Court were meant to resemble: quiet authority and power, but also danger- the latter mostly to blame on the way they tended to glare and scowl at nearly everything and everything that was an inconvience. There had been a rumor once that Vagar had dismembered another vampire for simply spilling wine on his suit.. A rumor was a rumor, to be fair, but even Morana believed there was some truth to it; the Royals never messed around and wanted nothing but perfection. She had been lost in her thoughts until Antinous ceased walking, leading to her easing to a stop as well. There was a questioning expression on her face as she looked over at him whilst folding her arms across her chest. Antinous remained quiet for a few more moments, as if contemplating the best way to word what he wanted to say or even figure out if he even wanted to say something in the first place.

``Keeping the wards down has been annoying, frustrating even,`` Antinous started, his voice dripping with barely concealed disgust, which Morana presumed was directed towards the humans that persisted in constantly renewing the broken wards. The Vampiric Court had agreed to always have access to the town that was located nearby for whenever they needed to snatch a human away for another source of blood or to simply make a statement. Besides, it was the vampires that only knew how to disrupt and weaken the wards enough to allow any beast to cross the border; it was another reason why the other species didn`t trifle with them since it could cost them their access to human civilizations. It was unheard of nowadays for a city or town to not have wards and protection sigils; it was a death sentence without them and the humans knew it, which Morana found comical. ``I swear they redo them in the morning while we destroy them again at night. A neverending cycle- an annoying, pointless game.``

``The humans are merely doing whatever they can to survive against us and the others. If I were in their position, I would do the same,`` Morana chided, her lips curling in a small, subtle smile as she resumed walking, her keen sense of hearing picking up on the crickets and sounds of life in the forest. Even if she was a vampire, she still took in the beauty that nature provided and often found herself wanting to capture it in one way or another. She nearly laughed when she heard Antinous curse and grumble about humans being too smart for their own good before catching up to her. ``But.. is this your way of telling me to check the wards for any wandering humans?``

``Yes. Yes, it is,`` Antinous mumbled beneath his breath, expecting a tirade of some kind but not receiving one. Morana sighed as she ushered him away and quietly shifted off of the route they were taking to instead head towards where she figured the broken ward was. There was only one ward that herself and the others in the Vampiric Court persistently kept down for easy access and it would seem like the humans just refused to give up when it came to their safety; it was admirable, really, but there wasn`t much they could do in the end. Morana was quiet and swift as she quickened her pace, her steps light yet calculated as she traveled through the forest by her lonesome. Unlike the others, she preferred being alone compared to being overwhelmed with crowds and other things that came with it. She eventually slowed down and used the foilage to keep herself hidden, her black dress also aiding in keeping her somewhat camoflauged in the dark environment. Her blue eyes narrowed into icy slits when she noticed there was already a human actively working on fixing the broken ward. An amused smile made its way onto her countenance as she contemplated her options: scaring the shit out of the poor thing, approaching him calmly, or just killing him with one swift blow to the head.

Morana had been too focused on thinking, so she nearly cursed aloud when she stepped on a stick, the sound reverberating throughout the woods. She knew that human definitely heard it, so she figured she might as well make an appearance of some kind. Her steps were slow and calculated as she emerged from the bushes, her gaze almost- almost- soft as she watched the human try and fix the ward. She simply watched and stared, noting how easily it would be to just shove him over due to his odd position. Her head tilted as she observed, not wanting to speak just yet; she loved watching humans jump to conclusions and their own presumptions.

The icy cold of the forest was starting to seep into Sorren’s body, even through his jacket- and he had a sinking feeling that it didn’t have to do with the weather. Yes they were coming up on the winter solstice, and temperatures were dropping, but this felt unnatural to him. He was thinking back to his days of training now, what he’d been told about wards and the monsters they were supposed to prevent from getting into the town

“And if you turn to chapter fourteen…” his old mentor’s voice echoed in his mind. He remembered that room well, because he’d spent hours in there trying to take in the volumes upon volumes of information that were taught to Rowans. It was a small classroom, lit by an arrangement of lamps bought at flea markets and second-hand stores because the ceiling light had broken years ago. It had been a charming place, despite the cramped feeling. Hosted in one of the Rowan buildings further to the South of town, near the library. He still remembered being told to carry the books from the library and into the classroom- it made his mouth quirk up slightly. The complaints from him and his fellow students as they hauled armfuls of heavy, leather-bound books from across the street, he’d gotten close with several of the people he had studied with. Sorren’s mind wandered to what they might be doing right now, a way for his brain to try and distract him from the goosebumps running up his arms and the hair standing up on the back of his neck. What had actually been in chapter fourteen? His brain continued on its tangent. Something about the telltale signs of a vampire having made it into a town. Pets mysteriously going missing, people getting sick- was that it? Or was that part of the superstitions…probably the latter.

Understandings of vampires had changed a lot over the years. People used to think they spread illness but that was before they knew how to care for basic infections from any cut or puncture to the skin…Sorren shifted his weight on the tree root, tugging on the ward he had just put up to check if it was secure enough. He’d patterned the knots correctly but what use was that if it could be yanked off the tree? It seemed alright, and he searched his pockets for the lighter to set the herbs off. The Ward would be fully in effect once the herbs had smoldered to the center, and he didn’t want to leave before he was sure. So Sorren stayed to watch the little flame burn, moving his torch from his teeth into his hand and flicked it off. The firelight was just enough for him, he always liked the way it looked too, small dancing flames licking around the side of the Ward and darkening the raised carvings.

That’s when he heard the snap of a twig- his goosebumps got worse, making him shiver as he instinctively placed a foot onto the more secure ground. He turned his head side to side, eyes narrow and mind hoping it had been an animal that made the noise. He couldn’t see very far into the darkness even as he flicked his torch on and raised it to cut through the trees. The forest swallowed up light…

Uneasy, but still not willing to leave, Sorren stayed where he was half on the tree root. Movement out of the corner of his eye made his head snap around. Only to see a woman emerging from the forest. Confusion painted his expression for a moment…what was she doing out here? He didn’t recognize her as a Rowan. Possibly a visitor for the solstice, how long had she been there? So many questions..

“Everything alright?” Sorren started, shifting uncomfortably. Something about the way she was watching him sparked the acute urge to reach for the knife in his jacket, but he refrained for now. Looking over her he took note that she wasn’t wearing anything warm, and his confusion returned. Unsure what to make of her he stepped down from the tree root and lowered his torch to cast light between them and not in her face “I don’t know what you’re looking for out here but I suggest heading back into town for the night” He cast his eyes back to the wards…almost done smoking. Looking back at the woman Sorren couldn’t resist slipping his hand into his pocket and gripping the knife handle this time. She made his skin crawl. He’d been acting under the assumption that she may be a visitor to the town who was curious and had taken a walk by herself, which she probably was- this uneasy feeling wasn’t her. That’s what he told himself anyway. He tried a smile to seem polite and to hide the urgency he felt to get out of the forest, if there was something else watching them both of them should get out of here.

Morana Tacitus

⋆⁺。˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚。⁺⋆

Before the human even began to speak, Morana immediately picked up on his uneasy, nervous demeanor and behavior; these things were easily observed and perceived by vampires like her, especially when it came to humans. There truly were a plethora of options regarding her next actions involving this specific human, but the most appealing one was certainly this: taking advantage of the situation and following him into town, if she could cross prior the ward being fully restorted. Her blue eyes darted almost curiously towards the burning herbs, estimating that she had a few minutes before her time ran out to make a decision. It was not unheard of for the Vampiric Court members to go to human settlements themselves, but it was certainly a rare occasion; they typically left behind piles of corpses with nothing but the signature indicator that their blood had been sucked dry. Besides, she was powerful and ancient enough to be somewhat immune to the sun`s true effect of burning a vampire`s skin until they were practically nothing. Morana only felt intense discomfort, as if there were bugs nipping at her skin and crawling all over her body. It was a terrible feeling, so much so she did avoid sunlight at all costs. That would be an issue if she did decide to follow this human back into the town he was actively trying to protect. When he spoke, her eyes returned to his own and they narrowed a fraction in quiet thought. She didn`t originate from these parts, so she was unaware of what kind of humans lived in the town itself, but she knew what he was: a covenant member of some kind or perhaps even a hunter.

``Everything`s well,`` Morana replied evenly, folding her rather thin arms across her chest. She took a few steps closer as she tilted her chin to get a better view of the burning herbs. The sole thing she hated when it came to interacting with humans was that she had to act like them- clueless and a little stupid. Even if it wouldn`t be too much trouble to kill the man right then and there, she didn`t want to draw suspicion or for anything extremely consequential to happen. Then again, if she did follow him to wherever he had come from, she would have to destory the wards if she wanted to leave; the design of them clearly were planned out, meticulous even. Whoever protected this town was smart.. too smart, and that bothered her immensely. ``I was merely taking a.. leisurely stroll.``

``Did something tamper with the wards?`` she asked innocently, feigning concern as she frowned. Morana was curious to figure out if they were picking up on the pattern of the Vampiric Court keeping these ridiculous things down. She nearly huffed in annoyance, but restrained herself and instead looked at him- truly looked at him. He looked young, presumably a young adult, and athletic, given his well-muscled anatomy. If he hadn`t been a human, she would have considered calling him good-looking; most vampires were gorgeous and stunning in their dark, respective ways, but this man.. he had a odd charm to him. It was ironic that she was thinking this while simultaneously imagining killing him or even the one thing she had never done before: turning him. Members of the Vampiric Court were allowed to turn a maximum of three humans into vampires during their lifetimes, unless all three somehow ended up dead. They needed replacements if they passed on, which the other seven that were currently rotting in their graves failed to accomplish. Vampires were vain and believed strongly in lineages and their Sires, the ones that turned them, so it was always disgraceful to not pass down what one had built to someone else.

Her eyes narrowed when she realized her time was running out rather quickly, arms tightening around herself before she lowered them. Morana was leaning towards following him back into town, even if that would most likely infuriate the hell out of the Vampiric Court. Antinous would be the only one to find it humorous while the others.. not so much.

Suppressing the predatory impression he got from this woman, Sorren attempted to keep up his smile as best as he could. Still he kept his hand firmly around the knife in his pocket. Even if it wasn’t for her, if something did come running at them out of the trees it was the only weapon he had on hand. Maybe she had a knife of her own too? Wouldn’t that be great- unless he was right to be unsettled by her. In that case he was hoping she was not armed. The night time wasn’t helping his uneasiness, he just wanted his shift to be over with so he could get to his friends before it was too late and they all had to call it a night, plus Farrah would probably be wondering where he was. She looked out for people that way. Hopefully she’d let the others know where he was by now so that they could come looking for him in case this took a dark turn. He rolled his shoulders and pulled his eyes off of the replaced wards to properly meet the woman’s gaze.

He held her blue eyes for a moment, under different circumstances- as in, if he wasn’t working and a little freaked out right now- Sorren would have thought she was pretty. Her features were certainly striking, but something about her eyes…as lovely as they were…made him feel like a deer caught in headlights. Not in the good star-struck way either, more like the imminent danger way. When she finally spoke some of the tightness in his chest faded, glad to hear a human voice and not an ominous snarl come from her throat “You sure? You must be cold…or are you one of those people who says you can’t feel it?” He chuckled, mostly to lighten his own mood.

Sorren noticed her interest in the ward, and stepped closer to it with her to tilt it slightly to give her a better view “You saw me put these up?” He asked conversationally as the smoke started to disappear into the wooden carvings. He lifted his torch too to light them up, he didn’t mind showing her this if she just wanted to get a better look at them. They were rather pretty after all…ornamental almost. With the complex knots added on he wouldn’t be surprised to see someone using this as decoration on their christmas tree if he didn’t know what it was for. Actually the Rowans did use them as decor, kind of- several of the walls in their buildings had enormous, heavy wooden mounts that were carved just like these wards. In the large hall especially, it looked like they’d taken the giant doors out of an old temple and hung them up.

He looked back to her and dropped his arm when she said she’d just been out for a walk in the woods, raising an eyebrow. Most people from here avoided the woods after dark, so that confirmed his suspicions that she didn’t live in the Town “It is a nice night” He conceded, despite the chill he felt it was a clear night- the moon was out and the stars were visible because of the lack of clouds. He tilted his head back to look up at the slivers of sky visible between the canopy of the trees, the branches and leaves weren’t so dense here that light was blocked entirely.

When the woman asked about the wards Sorren shook his head “I don’t think I can tell you about that” It was to prevent panic, Rowans rarely disclosed it when there were problems with wards unless it was very serious. He had to admit this did seem pretty serious if the same wards were being targeted, but giving out that information wasn’t up to him “They’re all good now, if you’re worried” Sorren added on

Despite the security of the wards being fixed, he didn’t want to linger here “I’ll walk you back to town if you’d like?” He offered after a moment of silence, trying to think about how he could subtly get her to leave without raising any alarms.
