Sage had blacked out pretty quickly, thankfully, since he was fully aware of what she wanted and he wasn't exactly thrilled to give it to her. He'd stopped outright saying no, since she did what she wanted anyway, but when he woke up a while later, he groaned as he got up, while body sore and head pounding. He gathered his clothes and got dressed, peeking out to make sure she was gone before moving slowly back to his desk.

Remy remained curled under his rock, his entire body shaking as he cried.

Sage had plopped down at his desk, sort of just staring at the papers there, mind whirling. After a while he did glance over at Remy and sighed. "We need to get out of here," he mumbled to no one in particular.

Remy glanced up at Sage now back at his desk. His eyes were red and puffy from all his crying. He glanced back down, curling further into himself.

Sage tapped his fingers on the desk while he thought, before his face lit up and he dialed a number, talking on the phone for a few minutes before calling someone else and then confirming a few more things. He moved to the platform and then looked down at the merman. "We're leaving," he noted. "I rented a truck with a tank, so we don't need to teach you to walk before hand. I told them I'm taking you to a vet, so act sick. They'll be here any minute to load you up. I'll drive off and then we'll get a hotel or something somewhere," he called down.

Remy heard. He flicked his tail once to acknowledge he'd heard, but he didnt dare show his puffy eyes and such from crying his eyes out.

Sage let out a sigh when remys tail flicked, and he couldn't shake the feeling that the merman didn't like him that much. He'd use him to get out of here, and then leave him alone somewhere. He wasn't sure why it hurt so much. But the truck had pulled in soon enough, and a few men came to haul the merman into a smaller tank, then dump him into the truck, which had a back full of water for him. Sage hopped in the front, putting the bag with all his things in it in the passenger seat, took a deep breath, a drove off.

Remy didnt resist the men as they moved him around like an object. That's all he was to everyone. Just a specimen, just a pretty thing to look at. He stayed curled up in his tail, he'd stopped crying, but he was just sad now.

Sage drove the truck down for a few hours before pulling over next to a hotel. He had plenty of money for now, since it was the labs money and he could use it since he was technically doing work for them. He moved to open the top of the truck and peer in, trying to find Remy. "It's pretty late ...we're at a hotel, I figured you'd be more comfortable in a room than out here," he noted softly, holding out a hand. "Let's dry you off quick and get you inside," he added quickly, looking around nervously.

Remy took Sages hand, keeping his head down to hide his red and puffy eyes from all his crying. With the help of Sage, he managed to get out of the back of the truck, dried off, changed and dressed in human clothes.
