Sage chuckled softly and threw her an amused look. "Well, then we'll get a dog once the kittens can run away," he noted with a shrug. "The kids would enjoy a puppy anyway," he pointed out. Of course, when Mari brought the makeshift orphanage up again he snickered softly and nodded. "And you wouldn't be able to go work at the tavern or ever get out of the house," he thought out loud. "It may not be the best idea," he added with a laugh and quick shake of his head.

Mari smiled and nodded lightly in agreement. Generally a good plan, to give the kittens even half a chance before they got a puppy. It was something she liked the sound of, though... she loved the cat, and she'd always had ginger growing up, but she'd always very much been a dog person. The kids too... they'd love something to play with. Plus, if they got something big enough, she'd feel safer with them playing around outside. Not that she didn't feel that it was safe, she knew for a fact that if anyone went near their children, their father would be there in a heartbeat. Sage was normally pretty good like that. Mari pouted over at him, nodding. "Very true. Then I might actually kill you. Imagine being stuck in the house with you and a bunch of children? Yuck," she grumbled with a bit of a chuckle. She glanced up at the clock after a little while, and sighed softly. "I'm gonna run and get ready for bed. See you up there," she chirped happily, pecking his cheek before wandering off.

Sage just grinned over at her, nodding along. "I think you'd run off somewhere and then it would just me and a bunch of kids," he mused with a soft chuckle. "I don't think that would go over real well," he added with an amused shake of his head. He nodded when she mentioned getting ready for bed, humming in agreement. "I'm gonna finish up some things in the art room and I'll be up," he noted, watching her head upsairs before wandering into the art room and touching up a few things there before wandering upstairs an hour or so later.

Mari giggled in agreement after a moment, nodding happily. Yeah, they'd probably fall out big time if that sort of thing ever happened. It wouldn't, thankfully, but she'd definitely start collecting animals as the years went on. She'd never be able just to sit around, and neither would Sage. She smiled at his response, and wandered off to go get ready for bed, eventually flopping down under the covers comfortably.

Sage finished up things quickly downstairs before wandering to to their room. Mari was in bed but awake, so he got ready for bed pretty quickly before crawling in beside her happily and settling in with a soft breath of air. He was tired now that he was crawling into bed, he supposed....he'd still be rather ready to do things, but it was funny how just thinking about curling up comfortably with Mari could make him crash so suddenly. It wasn't bad though.

Mari drifted off fairly quickly when her head hit the pillow, only really shifting when she felt Sage come and settle down next to her. She really was exhausted - for whatever reason. She hadn't really been doing anything different from normal. She sort of moved to curl up into Sages chest, burying her nose into him. It was more of a subconscious thing, but she always just limpeted onto him. Always wanted to be close to him, even after so long together. (Do you want to do the whole rebellion thing now?)

(yeah sure! Idc how it comes about lol) Sage smiled softly when Mari attached herself to him, slipping her hands under his shirt slightly. She always did that....andbhe had grown to love it. It was odd when she didn't do it. He just chuckled quietly as he shifted to wrap his own arms around her, nestling in and closing his own eyes. He drifted off fairly quickly too, just glad to have such a good family. A wonderful home.
