It took a decent while to get Remy dried off, in clothes, and then get them up to their room. It was small, with a bed, desk, and cushioned chair in it, as well as a small bathroom. Sage himself was too tired to car, and just collapsed in the chair after plopping Remy on the bed. "You can have the bed," he'd mumbled. After the military he could fall asleep pretty much anywhere. A bed was great, of course, but even at 'home' he only had a mattress on the floor. So he'd manage.

Remy slumped down on the bed, curling up. He figured it out fairly quickly, crawling under the covers. He nodded. Did Sage really not want to be around him that much? He tried to hold back his tears, but they spilled over and his tail reappeared as he began to cry.

Sage had almost passed out, though he did pick up on there merman's sniffles this time and sort of squinted over at him. "Oi, what's wrong," he asked gently, moving to go sit next to him after a moment or so, despite being ready to pass out. "I can't help if you don't tell me what's wrong," he added softly.

"Im so alone..." he sobbed. "No one wants me because I'm gay... no one up here, no one is the whole ocean..." he cried.

Sage hummed softly in response to the merman's comments. "It's not easy sometimes, liking other men," he thought out loud. "But I suppose I'm alone too, so maybe we can team up," he noted. "Although I do want to get you home," he added. He wasn't sure how that would work

"I dont have a home anymore... they kick me out of every town after someone figures out I like guys..." he sniffled. Being under the sea, the world was a lot different. People who were different were avoided, portrayed as anomalies. "Really? You'd team up with me?"

Sage frowned slightly but sighed. "You know what I mean. You belong in the ocean," he noted. Though, when he asked his question, sage offered him a small smile. "Remy, I love with a father who hates me and is only using me for the money and a stepmother who's only interested in getting me in bed than creating a happy family environment," he snorted, shocked he'd given that closely guarded secret away that easily. "I took off with you for a reason," he added softly. "And I gave you the end to respect your privacy, not because I don't want to be around you, drama queen," he added, hoping the small tease would make Remy laugh. Even a smile would be nice. He was finding out that he liked his smile.

Remy smiled and chuckled, rolling over to face Sage and hugging him, wrapping his tail around his legs. "Thank you..." he whispered. "And, I'm sorry about your family, that doesn't sound good,"

Sage let out a soft squeak when remys tail went around him, not exactly used to things being genuine. But it only took a moment for him to wrap himself up around the merman, burying himself into his body. It felt safe there....and he didn't want it to end. It did, of course, after just a few seconds, but he smiled and nodded at Remy. "Like I said, I ran off with you for a reason," he humemd softly. "They'll be looking for us once they know we lied...well need shelter, and a spot where they can't find us," he added. "For now, let's just sleep, yeah," he suggested, definitely about ready to pass out. Even getting off the bed seemed like too much effort.

Remy nodded, "Okay," he replied, settling back down. He kept his tail wrapped around Sages legs in a sort of safety to know he wouldn't abandon him like everyone else had. "Goodnight," he smiled. He fell asleep. Eventually his tail changed back to legs, leaving him without clothes, but he was already asleep.
