Sage had finished the drawing of the woman and was about halfway done with her second hand man when he heard Mari come back into the room. Admittedly, his face lit up, just like it normally did when he saw her, and he moved to hold a hand out as she set the tray down, tugging her in for a quick embrace and peck on the lips in greeting. "I finished one, I'm about halfway done on the other one," he noted softly. "But I think that's as much energy as I'll be able to expend for one day," he admitted with a somewhat sheepish grin. His stomach growled though, and he peered over a the tray of food, nose twitching slightly as he took in the smell. He was hungry now that he thought about it ...very hungry, and he supposed he hadn't had much earlier that day either. "Speaking of having no energy, I want you to come sleep in here. On the bed. So I know you're actually getting some rest," he added, arching his eyebrows slightly. "The kids can come in too if you really want," he added with a shrug.

Mari looked over when he held his hand out, and sort of cocked her head when he pulled her in. She kissed him back, of course, but soon shook her head and moved to stand up again. She glanced over towards the paper after a moment, and took it off him along with the pencils. "It looks good. Well, as good as someone so ugly can get," she murmured slightly after a few moments. She made sure to put the drawing face down so he couldn't see it, figuring it may help him get some sort of rest for the time being. "Well then, that's enough energy wasted, she noted softly, grabbing the tray and plopping it on his lap, "Just eat and get to sleep. Try and eat as much as you can," she murmured. She'd completely given up making big meals for him - he never finished them, and it was just a waste of time. So, he just had a small portion of plain pasta to keep him happy. When he continued, she just rolled her eyes and got clearing up the room. "I'm not staying in here, and neither are the kids," she muttered, huffing out a soft breath. "Besides, I'm getting rest, don't worry," she added with a little smile as she put things away. She wasn't, and she was exhausted, but she just wanted him to feel a little better.

Sage couldn't help but chuckle at Maris comment about the drawing, just nodding along in agreement. He moved to take the pasta shed handed him, in king at it slowly. If he ate slower he found he managed to keep more down. Though, when she said she wasn't staying here he aort of sighed, giving her a knowing look. "Mari, I can tell you haven't been sleeping well," he noted softly. "Just....promise me you'll try to get a decent night's rest. Ask the doctor for sleeping pills or something if need be," he added, brows furrowing slightly. He was worried about her.

Mari raised her brow at him after a sec and just shook her head. "I've been sleeping fine," she insisted with a small chuckle. Not really - she wasn't comfortable anywhere, and she spent most nights just watching over Sage, but he didn't need to know that. He just needed to relax for now. "You're not meant to tell your wife that she looks tired. It's rude," she continued in a teasing tone, although it did come out a bit more grumpy than she'd intended. She shook her head again, although eventually just sighed. "I'll speak to him. Worry about yourself."

Sage just raised an eyebrow as she claimed she was sleeping fine, as if saying really? "Mari, I know you better than to buy that," he noted gently, knowing she wasn't trying to be rude. But she was just proving him right about not sleeping since she was grumpy. When she claimed he was being rude though, he just snorted. "Oh please, I never said you were ugly. I said you looked tired," he noted. His face softened though, and he sighed softly. "I am. But it's also my job to make sure you're getting what you need too," he pointed out gently.

Mari just huffed out a breath at him. "You're just looking for problems, Sage. We're all ok," she murmured softly. They were fine. She was tired, more mentally than physically but tired all the same. "You're sick. You don't know anything right now," she continued before just shaking her head, a frown starting to form. "I never said anything about being ugly, but if that's what you think-" she paused for just drawing in a deep breath, not wanting to start an argument that she ultimately wouldn't win. "I'll be fine - I'll rest, promise. Right now you have to eat," she whispered.

Sage sort of sighed as Mari continued to complain, just shutting his mouth as she told him he was sick. Evidently, he wasn't going to get Anywhere with her. He tried not to let it get to him....he knew she was stressed and struggling....but her words did sting a bit. He just offered her a small smile and a nod when she promised she'd rest, and looked down at the bowl. It was all suddenly very unappealing, but he didn't want to make her more upset so he choked down the bowl, just so she knew he'd eaten.

Mari finished tidying up quietly when he started eating, rather pleased that he'd finished the whole thing for once... it did make her relax a little. She knew he was trying his best, but she was dying a little bit inside every time he struggled with something as simple as eating. Again, it wasn't his fualt, but it didn't make her feel any different about it. When he finished, she just offered him a little smile and went to take the tray off him. "I'll go get this stuff away and come back... get some rest, hm," she whispered quietly before padding off again.

Sage offered mari a small smile, nodding as she took the tray. He did try to keep the noodles down, but he'd eaten too much, so he moved to scramble off the bed and into the bathroom, heaving his stomach contents up into the toilet. He stayed there dry heaving after that for a few minutes, until his system had calmed down a bit before moving back to bed with a sigh. He'd just curled up then, waiting for Mari to come back. He would let her think he ate it all.... hopefully she'd be able to rest some knowing he was alright.

Mari wandered off to get everything tidied up after a little while, although it admittedly did take a little longer than she'd expected it to... she was tired, and moving slowly as her mind wandered. God, she just wanted to go back to normal. She wanted things to be calm again - and she wasn't even sure how Sage would be when they went back to 'normal.' How he'd be in the house and such. She eventually made her way back towards the ward, plopping down in the chair when she saw Sage curled up.
