Sera looked down at the ring, the way it caught the early morning light and shimmered gently between their hands. She smiled, soft and full of emotion, her eyes misting slightly. “I love it,” she whispered, voice thick with feeling. “Not just because it’s beautiful… but because it’s from you. Because it means forever.” She turned her hand in his, letting him trace the diamond, then leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his temple. “I’d say yes to you even if it was a twist-tie from a bread bag, Finn. But this?” She laughed quietly, wiping at one of her eyes. “This is perfect. You always make everything feel perfect.” |

Sera’s heart melted at the sound of his voice, so full of warmth and certainty. She leaned in, resting her forehead against his and closing her eyes for a moment. “Forever and ever,” she echoed, her voice a soft whisper laced with quiet joy. Her fingers gently curled around his, grounding herself in the feel of his hand, the weight of his promise. “I still can’t believe I get to wake up next to you for the rest of my life,” she said with a breathy laugh. “You’ve made everything I ever dreamed of feel real.” |

Sera laughed softly, the sound warm and sincere—until the sudden wave of nausea hit her like a punch to the stomach. Her expression faltered instantly. “Oh—” she gasped, quickly sitting up and stumbling off the bed, a hand clamped over her mouth. She barely made it to the bathroom in time, dropping to her knees again as she vomited into the toilet. The cold tile sent a shock up her legs, but she barely noticed, eyes watering as her stomach heaved. It was the second time in two days. Something definitely wasn’t right. When the wave finally passed, she leaned back against the wall, panting softly, wiping her mouth with trembling fingers. “Okay,” she mumbled to herself, “this isn’t just too much sugar.” |

Sera leaned into his touch, her breathing still uneven as his magic worked to ease the sick twist in her stomach. The blue glow of his hand was soft and comforting, and even in the haze of nausea, she was grateful for him—grateful for the way he always came after her, always held her steady. She closed her eyes for a moment, then tilted her head weakly toward him. “I don’t get it either…” she murmured. “I mean… I know I’m not pregnant, we haven’t…” Her voice trailed off, her brow furrowing slightly as the thought lingered. Something wasn’t adding up. Her fingers pressed to her lower stomach absentmindedly as she whispered, more to herself than to him, “Then what is this…?” |
