Sage woke up what seemed to be hours later, though he couldn't be sure. He felt ....fine. suspiciously fine. He was clearly still in the hospital, but everything seemed like he was coming out of an anesthetic. He probably was, he realized, given the whole emergency surgery thing. He still had an oxygen mask on, as well as an IV and...whatever else he was hooked up to.

Amira was asleep in a chair beside him, Liz also asleep in her arms

Sage was curious as to what exactly had happened, but he noticed Amiraa there so he wasn't too worried about it. Besides, he was still pretty out of it, so he just drifted off again after a moment or two.

Amira woke a while later after Liz yanked on her shirt. "Ow, baby...No..." She scoled the baby lightly, trying to loosen her hold

Sage had shifted slightly a bit after Amira woke, slowly waking up, this time less groggy. He noticed her being awake and moved to tug the oxygen mask down so he could speak up. "What the hell happened," he asked her, clearly a bit confused

"You had to go into emergency surgery. I've been trying to control our girl for the last few hours between sleeping. How're you feeling, love?" She asked softly, untangling herself from Liz

Sage was a little surprised when she mentioned surgery, then glanced down at his chest with a slight frown, though he was in a hospital gown so it wasn't like he could see what had happened. "Surgery," he repeated. "How much is that gonna cost," he added after a moment. Though, at her comment he offered her a small smile. "A lot better," he admitted

Amira's mouth pulled into a grim line. She'd tried to push cost out of her mind for a while but she was praying the hospital would have a bit of mercy financially...It wasn't like she had insurance....

Sage shifted slightly, attempting to sit up, but gave up when he realized that wasn't really possible while he was hooked up to all the equipment. He flopped back down with a sigh, watching Liz. It did pull a small smile onto his face.

"Want her?" Amira offered, standing and handing their daughter off to him
