Sera beamed as Finn said those three words again — the way he always did, like he meant them more every time. She squeezed his hand, her chest tight with emotion as they stepped into the warmth of the reception hall, where lanterns glowed and laughter bubbled in the air like champagne. The night felt like something out of a dream. Familiar faces surrounded them — Zoya, wiping her eyes, grinning between happy sobs; old friends from before the war; even distant family Sera hadn’t seen in years. Everyone was smiling, laughing, celebrating their love. But what stood out the most was him. While others clinked glasses and drifted toward the bar, Sera noticed Finn hadn’t even glanced that way. Not once. He stayed by her side, joking with guests, dancing with her, his arm always around her waist or fingers twined with hers. And she remembered — how hard that promise had been for him. What it meant. Her heart caught in her throat. “Thank you,” she whispered to him quietly, leaning close as a slow song began. “For keeping that promise. For choosing us.” And in that moment, nothing else mattered. Just him. Just this. Just forever.

Sera looked up at him, her eyes glimmering in the low light, heart swelling with emotion. She leaned her head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath his suit. His words wrapped around her like a second embrace. “I don’t deserve you,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the soft music. “But I’m so glad I have you anyway.” She pulled back just enough to meet his gaze, her fingers gently tracing along his jaw. “You’ve always been my choice too, Finn. Even when things were dark. Even when I was scared. I always knew… I’d find my way back to you.” Sera smiled through the shimmer of tears threatening to fall again — happy tears this time. Her hand squeezed his just a little tighter. “This is everything,” she whispered. “You, me, tonight… our future. It’s everything I ever wanted.”

Sera smiles, "I love you too" she replies, nuzzling her head into his hand.

Sera kissed him back softly, her fingers curling gently into his suit jacket. The music swirled around them, but all she could hear was the sound of their hearts, steady and in sync. As they swayed, she tucked her head beneath his chin, taking a slow breath before speaking, her voice quiet but thoughtful. “Finn?” she murmured, her cheek brushing against his chest. “When do you think we’ll be ready? For… for a child?” She didn’t pull away. She didn’t want to see fear or hesitation on his face if it was there. She just wanted honesty — the kind they’d always given each other. “I know we have forever,” she whispered, “but I’ve just been thinking… and wondering when our forever might grow a little bigger.”

Sera’s heart fluttered at his words — soft, sure, wrapped in that steady warmth he always gave her. She pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, her hands resting gently on his chest. His answer wasn’t rushed or hesitant. Just true. Just him. A smile broke slowly across her face, tears glinting in her lashes. “Yeah?” she whispered, her voice full of wonder. “You’re really ready?” Her thumb brushed over the edge of his lapel. “Because I think…” She paused, her smile widening, “I think I might be.” She bit her bottom lip, trying not to cry again — but the thought of their love growing, of holding something that was part of both of them — it filled her up completely. “Whenever we do,” she added softly, “that baby’s going to have the best dad in the world.”
