Sage found himself rolling his eyes as she continued to argue about the key, shaking his head impatiently. "That's not how you steal a necklace," he snorted. "We need them to be in good condition if we're to sell them...breaking it would be rather stupid of them," he pointed out. Then again, his men had done just that quite a few times he could think of - he supposed some of them weren't the brightest people on the face of the earth. "Sometimes," he noted. "Thankfully, most of the biggest ones are also the dumbest," he noted with a slightly amused twitch of his lips. That was good for him too, of course, given his own short stature. Heck, even the two girls were taller than him at the moment, though they may be wearing heels. Even so, all three of them were close to the same height and weight, it seemed like, despite his broader shoulders. Though, his eyebrows shot upwards when she mentioned taking a royal captive. That....was not what he had expected. His surprise was evident as he blinked slowly, shaking his head after a moment. "You're asking me to kidnap you," he restated, not entirely sure what she was trying to do. But she'd practically begged him to take her along. Her comment about the old superstition pulled a scowl onto his face though, waving it off. "That's stupid," he noted. "I'm not sure where that even came from since we call our ships 'she'," he added with a slight wrinkle of his nose. It really had never made sense to him. They prided their ships, calling them 'she', but then claimed a woman couldn't be on board because it was bad luck. Well, then wouldn't the ship being a she also be bad luck? It went back to men being stupid, he supposed. His sensitive hearing did pick up on her muttering about the scents, and he gave her a grin. "It'll get smellier on board the ship," he noted in amusement. He sighed as she kept talking, though, trying to figure this all out. "Look, if I bring you along, there's no garuntee you'll survive," he noted. "We're constantly attacked, and the weather is always unpredictable on a ship." He shook his head. "Besides, I ransom you off, then people who are actually important know my face. My ship. We get caught, we get hung. I'd rather not deal with that," he added. Though, at her suggestion, he shook his head. "People will want their dead," he noted. "They'll have to identify everyone anyway." He wighed his options though, watching her for a second. "You have ten minutes to pack what you want," he noted after a moment of thought. "And to get on the ship. Otherwise, you stay here and clean up the mess yourself." She could come with - and if she disbehaved or something he could just drop her off at the next island they came to. But he would prefer to keep her close, so she didn't cause any trouble here. The more he could avoid the law, the better.

Adelaide smirked a little at the change of tone coming from him, trying to defuse themselves "well, I haven't really ever met pirates so you can tell I'm inexperienced with the truth. But I can't be helped to be hesitant with what I've been told most of my life." she spoke with a more calmer tone as she basically begun to circle him at a slow pace, taking every detail as she could get. He was shorter than most but he had a different stance than most. Handsome and stunning but could tell of body trauma from punishment and a harsh life. There was also something she wasn't able to pin. His scent was different than any human, she's known. "Kidnap?!" She stopped just to the side of him as she ran the fan down his sword's blade. She looked at his eyes for a moment before looking away with a little chuckle "don't excite me with adventure! No, I'm more curious about why you haven't even attempted" she smiled "would've thought by now you'd have your men return with ropes and drag me and miss Isabella to your ship, but you are providing me wrong that all pirates are harsh and ruthless with little care" She nodded a little "wouldn't be the first time on a boat with men, I wouldn't expect a clean English Carrack ship" she looking at Isabella who simply wanted no part of this and just return "you may leave" she smiled. Isabella lowered herself down and bowed respectfully to Adelaide "as you wish your highness" practically giving Adelaide's title away as she walked to the castle doors and entered. Adelaide stepped away from him, it would be really hard for her to survive with her condition without causing some form of harm to his crew. It would be a matter of time before her thirst would set in. Especially if she doesn't have access to her liquid as she would announce as 'medication' "What a gentleman, giving a lady a timeframe" she looked up to the castle door then back at him, conflicted on what she wants and needs to do "I'm surprised your men aren't worried that their captain hadn't returned yet, especially being left with a couple ladies left on an island" she chuckled quietly as she walks towards the Castle.

Sage had grunted in agreement to her comment about being inexperienced, grumbling a "in a lot of things, apparently," under his breath. She was being...nice enough, though, so he figured he probably shouldn't instigate her into getting mad. He didn't think she'd do him any harm if she did try to attack him, of course, but he knew better than to ever fully underestimate anyone. That was what got people killed. "Don't believe everything you hear," he noted. "You'll hear plenty of shit stories on that ship if you're insisting on coming with," he added with a shrug, wincing slightly. "The older guys like to tell stories. And they don't ever stop." He acted vaguely annoyed, but in all reality he did enjoy spending time with most of the men he had command over. Most of them. He groaned softly at her questions though, wishing he'd left sooner. Though, part of him was intrigued by this girl. She wasn't afraid ....wasn't worried about getting dirty or smelly or anything like that. She wanted to leave her home, stay on a pirate ship of all things, and...well, he wasn't sure what happened after that, really. "Because you're not worth the trouble of dragging along with the other things," he noted with a shake of his head. "We came here for essential supplies, and bringing you would mean taking more supplies and this spending more time directly in harms way," he explained. "It's not logical." Neither was bringing her along now but ....whatever. It was too late to go back now. At her gentleman comment he just grumbled a quick,"just hurry up," wandering after her into the house. He could have waited at the ship, but he didn't feel like it. "I think they'd be more surprised if anything came out of me being with a couple of ladies," he admitted. "My last relationship ended with my first mate and fiancee mutinying and leaving me on some island to starve." He shrugged after that, clearly putting on a front of not caring. "Course, I got off. Got my ship back. Kept the loyal ones, got rid of the rest." Either way, he'd kept away from relationships since then. It had been best to just focus on his job. Amy had done a lot of harm to not only him but the ship and crew, too. And he had realized that until it was too late.

Adelaide smiled softly as she led him towards the door "some of the lessons I've been taught have been told wrong being here has proved that well enough" she took a deep breath "the stories told on the deck are some of the best lessons one may learn" she looked back at him for a brief second as she stood next to the doorway as she welcomed him in "for a young man to be already a captain, you must be very respected" a little smirk appeared as she ended the sentence a bit sharp. As they walked in, Adelaide closed the door behind them as the castle was already lit up thanks to Isabella who was waiting above the two way staircase, looking down upon them "you really let him in.." she stuck up her nose, disappointed that her highness would bring a pirate into her walls. Isabella turned around muttering a few things before walking into a room. Adelaide sighed as she watched Isabella then looked down the hallway. Felt a bit uneasy not seeing guards around but shaked it off as the man was behind her, as soon as he mentioned that she wasn't worthy and they were only here for essentials. She shooked her head as she wanted to snap again but was holding back from fighting with him anymore "just think of us as extra crew then you wouldn't think of it as worthless" as she headed over to the study where she mostly spent her time. A navy combat table was set up in one corner with a large desk in the other, odd for a female to have a navy headquarters office in her castle. Walking over to the desk and opening a draw where she pulled a vial out and a spare. Both filled with a dark red almost blood like liquid. She looked over at him kinda surprised as he told her relationship situation "you were engaged?" She spoke with a surprised tone "you are at least doing better than me" she took a deep breath as she looked out of the window that looked down at the town "my run with men hasn't been ever successful, left me with a bit of a mark the last time I attempted" she unknowning placed her hand over her neck where she was bit but she was quick to shake it off as she turned around and placed the vials under her corset "anyways, who has time for love when you are always on the run" she spoke quietly as she tugged at the corset to make sure it sat correctly "just some medication" she made sure to cover whatever was in the vials were as she walked passed "oh if you see anything you want, it's yours, savvy?" Sage found himself admiring the woman's notice of some things being told wrong, and the way she seemed to appreciate the stories from the older populations. It was a good trait - and honestly it was how he'd learned most of what he'd learned. He could only teach himself so much...he'd needed their help. Staying quiet and listening was always a good idea. She was smart. And he absolutely hated that he couldn't hate her. In fact, he was intrigued by her, much more so than he would have liked. It would make it difficult to dump her somewhere, or kill her, if the need arose. He doubted it would - but sometimes people were good liars. He knew from experience, he supposed. "Yeah, until you need to get important work done and can't get away from a guy like a hundred years old telling you a story about his friend's brother's counsin's girlfriend who got her hair dyed pink," he grumbled, though there was a fond note to it. Her comment about him being young for a Captain pulled a dry chuckle from him though, taking a moment to glance around the house before responding. "I suppose," he noted. "At the very least they know better than to try another mutiny by now," he mused. "None of them can beat me in a swordfight, so they know better than to try and challenge." That was just simply how it worked. Besides, they had something going for them. They each had their place, and they worked well there. At Isabella's comment though, he just gave her a look back. "I'd have come in whether she wanted me to or not, calm your jets," he added with a slight wrinkle of his nose. It was safe to say he didn't like her very much...though, the feeling was obviously mutual. At her next comments though, he let out a breath. "Crew members who'd need to be taught, and who would need a different room to sleep in than the rest, and who clearly have needs we're not entirelly equipped to handle yet," he pointed out, eyebrows arching upwards as he nodded towards the vials she was gathering. He could smell it, and he was familiar enough to recognize the scent of blood, though he chose not to question it, turning back towards the door as she adjusted her clothing and mentioned his engagement. "For a few weeks. Then she tried to kill me," he restated. "Besides, it's common for allied Captains to wed if they're planning on starting a fleet or something. It signifies that bond, mostly...not what you're used to out here," he explained. He had loved her - but he hadn't been in love with her. Even so, her betrayal had left it's mark on him.

Adelaide couldn't hold back a chuckle as he made it sound like they would be a pain in his backside to train them to be apart of the crew "you'll be a great leader for us then, I promise to not make it as painful as you are making it" Adelaide turned her head back towards him as she sighed softly listening to his comments about his past love "I have to admit, she gave up a good opportunity.. luckily for you now you have your freedom" then his comment about 'what she's used to' strucked her a little "used to being told what to do..." She was basically letting her guard down around him, as they were getting acquainted with each other, she no longer deemed him as a threat as they were more talking as if they already begun trusting each other in the short period "usually when we come to age, we are usually assigned to marry someone that... Well sometimes we haven't met but in my favour I wasn't father's favourite instead he placed me here" she looked up at the ceiling just taking in the last moments she'll probably have here. Adelaide begun to approach the entrance of the building before she was stopped by the rushing sounds of rushing heels down the steps. Isabella came down with a couple packed luggage bags "Alrighty I got what we need!" She said in more of a cheerful way. Adelaide quickly grabbed the bags and threw them to the nearest wall "you really think we would need them. We are about to get on a boat with men who haven't bathed for sometime, we are going to have to play the part if we are going join mister...." She trailed off as she looked over at him "my apologies, I don't think I even caught your name" she smiled a little embarrassed that she's even trying to attempt to board a ship without knowing the captain's name. Isabella looked at the bags that she had packed for the both of them, shaking her head for a moment before looking at over at Adelaide, this wasn't unusual. It was obvious she was bored staying here. Usually by now the King would've sent them back but has gone to silent ends. Isabella practically vowed to Adelaide when they were children that she would stay by Adelaide's side, no matter what even if that means joining some random pirate's crew but she felt something between this man and Adelaide. Sage just rolled his eyes in response to Adelaide's comments about not making things any more diffucult than they needed to be. "Let's hope so, for both our sakes," he grumbled, though there wasn't any negative tone to his voice. It was more of an attempt at keeping the whole captain persona going. Whatever....it didn't really matter, he supposed. "You'll likely spend a lot of time with my first mate too," he noted with a shrug. He didn't have a whole lot of free time - there was always work to be done, paperwork like inventory records and stuff, that sort of thing. Jayce would be able to help them out and keep an eye on things when he himself couldn't. At the woman's comment about freedom, though, he paused for a moment before sighing. "Maybe. As much as I can while managing a whole crew," he mused. Sure, he didn't follow anyone's orders, but that meant everything fell on him. Every decision affected his crew, as well as other people. Every death was on him. It was just a lot to think about. A lot that kept him in line. every decision had a consequence. That all mattered. "You'll get plenty of orders," he informed her with a sort of chuckle. "There'll be two of us yelling stuff around," he added pointedly. "Though based off what I've seen so far it seems like your problem isn't that you're used to following orders, its that you wouldn't do what you were told," he thought out loud, a little bit of amusement finding its way into his voice. At the second woman's arrival, his eyebrows rose slightly when he noticed the fully packed bags. Of course, Adelaide was quick to toss them to the side, but he sighed after a moment. "Bring what you want, you'll get your own cabin anyway," he admitted with a sigh. "But you'll have to carry it across town," he added quickly. He didn't care what she wanted to bring....but she'd carry it. "And there's no electricity or anything," he added. He wasn't sure if she had a curling iron for her hair or anything of that nature she'd packed, but anything that needed elcetricity would be useless on a boat, and they didn't dock often. It was mostly just in Tortuga, and they rarely stopped there.

Adelaide couldn't hold back a smirk at his little jabs here and there but she listened to his information about what to expect on board. Something that isn't new to her at all... most of her life was listening to these commands.. ah here we go again.. but she took him seriously this time. Adelaide looked towards where she had thrown the cases as she continued to listen to the man but the comment that got her full attention was her not wanting to do what she was told "hmm he's really got me there" she whispered to herself, gently biting her bottom lip kinda nervously for a few seconds before she glanced over to him "Well... Yes... I have bad habbits but I'm sure I would learn quickly" replying in a sarcastic way "especially with a captian like you" she spoke in a serious but jokingly tone, Adelaide looked over at Isabella "let me guess there's nothing super important in those". Isabella smiled "well.. an outfit for every occasion miss... it's important to keep you, refreshed" looking ever so proud but didn't impress Adelaide at all who stood there with a blank impression "Isabella..." she trailed off as she shooked her head "I think we should be fine" she walks over to the door and opens it and awaits for them to follow "We're done here, Captian" she bows her head a little to him, showing somewhat submissiveness behaviour that'd she would follow him. Isabella sighs softly as she follows Adelaide and leaves the castle doors.

Sage felt his lips twitch upwards slightly in response to her own little jab, part of him recognizing her potential. Sure, she had no experience with probably most things that he and his crew were so used to, but she was stubborn. And he suspected she would fit right in. He had his doubts about the other girl...Isabella, was it? She seemed like she wouldn't find her place in the crew as easily. he'd have to keep an eye on them both, but Adelaide seemed more confident in herself and her own abilities. That was important when it came to fighting and such. "Right," he noted after a moment. "Because you've followed orders so faithfully already," he added, teasing her a little bit. "It wasn't like you were holding a knife towards me a few minutes ago or anything." He watched the women discuss the bags with a somewhat confused expression on his face. He supposed this kind of wealth was still mostly foreign to him - pirates plundered and such, yes, and some crews had more gold and jewels than they knew how to manage. But most of them weren't wealthy. They didn't have multiple outfits, didn't have many accessories - especially not fancy ones. So yeah, bringing along multiple bags that just had clothes in them was kind of odd, at least in his opinion. He grunted when Adelaide said they were ready though, already moving out the door. "You'll have to share a cabin," he noted, adding on a "Though I doubt that will be an issue," after a moment or so. They already seemed pretty close, and he suspected they lived with each other already. "And if any of the men act up or give you any trouble, let me know." he doubted they'd disobey his orders, but they might talk behind their backs or something. They might make some rude comments. But if they were being rude, he needed to know and put a stop to it. The crew needed to trust and respect each other, even if part of the crew was new. And female. That was definitely a first for many of the guys there. He stayed quiet, thinking, the rest of the way to the ship, moving smoothly across the dock and stepping onto the gently rocking ship without any trouble at all. He paused to wait for the girls there before turning and walking away again, until he reached the cabin they were to stay at, opening the door with his hand. "This is where you'll be staying," he informed them. "You'll probably have to clean. It hasn't been used for years." It was a bit messy...cobwebs and dust, and probably some mice. But they'd need to learn.

She rolled her eyes as he commented about having her knife pulled out at him and just under her breath she muttered "yes, not like there was men grabbing us and that" she paused for a moment as she basically looked at him in the eyes with a playful look "and you could've had it worst... I could've acted on my intentions but I didn't, you are still here alive" she ended pretty snappy as she wanted to play her game more with him but she knew they were wasting time. Isabella softly sighed listening to them as she quickly fixed her self up as she walks out of the door. Isabella always gave a very innocent personality but when push comes with shove, she knew how to defend herself especially picking up some traits from Adelaide. Adelaide closed the doors after they left as he was going through his instructions "that's not a problem." She took a deep breath as she turned to follow them "not uncommon to put females together, don't want to unsettle men with temptation". They've been through this before when they had been brought here but it was different for sure this time. Harsh times were ahead but Adelaide accepted it same with Isabella. "Your men will settle after a while... I'm sure we can handle it but I'll report to you" not knowing if she'd follow that to the tea or she would deal with it her own way. Adelaide and Isabella followed him not to far behind, not a word from either. Letting their thoughts go through? Planning something? Itching to assassinate? Who knows. There was just nothing out of them like they accept the fate handed to them. As they approached the ship, Adelaide stepped onto the ship with little hassle, Isabella took a moment before getting over somewhat seemed like anxiety about getting on the ship but she got over it and returned to Adelaide's side, who was waiting patiently for her with a smirk as if she was about to roast her for something but Adelaide remained quiet oddly enough. They both continued to follow him. Taking in notes of their new surroundings as they walked up to their cabin. "It's perfect!" Adelaide walked into the cabin as she looked around. Her thoughts basically already planning the room out within a few minutes walking around. She didn't have high expectations so this seemed like the ideal thing for them. Isabella remained quiet as she watched her highness take the lead in this one, she bowed her head towards Sage as she walked in. Isabella walked in as she herself took in the rooms details. Something she hadn't seen for a while... was no luxury anymore away but with work they would be at least comfortable again. Her blue eyes met with Adelaide's as she gave her a little worried smile before looking to Sage "it's nothing that we can't handle Sir" gave a little nod to him. Adelaide chuckled a little watching her friend, knowing that she'd probably have to stand up for her until she could get used to the ropes of things, she was the reason why they both were here. But to Adelaide, something excited her... Even now, she's as good as a pirate now. Traitor to the English, her country and people but even before she stepped onto the boat it was only a matter of time before the people would've caught onto Adelaide's secret.
